Lack of C:\windows\system32\sshnas21.dll - error message

I get this error at startup: c:\windows\system32\sshnas21.dll is missing or damaged.  I don't ' think I have a virus, I had run a check using business AVG and nothing was found last week.  I am running again this am.  Last night I ran a registry cleaner free trying to fix my Outlook email in question and said the vacuum we found thousands of entries I did not buy the software so that it ran and cleaned only a few entries. He was ParetoLogic pc health advisor. This morning my sidebar does not work.   My OS is Vista.  I did a search on the problem of dll, it responds to me told to delete all occurrences of sshnas21 of regedit.  I opened Regedit it registered 'My computer' with 4 or 5 entries under it.  I went to edit/search/trying to find a sshnas but everything came right I wasn't sure if I should delete all or what the devil at this point.  My email still will not let me click on links within an email or a word document... my side bar does not, now, I have a msg of error at startup... Help would be greatly appreciated.

I found the answer in another forum... http://en.kioskea.NET/forum/affich-286191-error-loading-c-Windows-System32-sshnas21-DL Thank you commentcamarche! the fixed perfectly.

    Hello

Considered to be malware: please proceed with thorough and intense scrutiny for malware and if the
rest error message again the next message will show how to remove it.

If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to
scrutiny and the withdrawal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running
resident who can cause as many questions as the malware and may be more difficult to detect as the
    cause.

No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy
to detect malicious software often comes with a much harder to detect and remove the payload. Then
its best to be thorough than paying the high price later now too. Check with them to one
extreme overkill point and then run the cleaning only when you are sure that the system is clean.

Looking for errors like this by doing a search on Google for the name of the file.  Usually, they turn up without success.

When a search in no hits or suspicious hits result, the answer is usually that the file in question is linked to the malicious software and your anti-malware application has deleted or quarantined file, but left to the Windows registry entry that tries to start the malicious software when you start your computer.

See http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-files/error-of-sshnas21dll-missing-at-the-startup/c414c2a7-eb5c-4d67-9883-7817fb742d18 (ignore the parts specific to Windows 7)

Download, install, update and run full scans with two of these free analytical tools:

    MalwareBytes AntiMalware
    SUPERAntiSpyware

Do not run the scans at the same time.  They can take some time, so start an and then go for a non computer chore for awhile.

If the scans does not solve the problem (and they can't, because the actual malware file has already been processed), then download and run Autoruns.  Click on the "Connection" tab and look in the column 'Image path' for the dll named in your error message.  If it is not displayed in the connection tab, click the "all" tab and use the file > search tool.  A characteristic of the search of Autoruns tool is that you must move the selection under the element line "found" before you "Find Next."

Once you find the line with the file in question, either "delete" or (if you want to be safer) uncheck the box.  The latter prevents the line running, but you can reactivate it later by removing the check mark.

  • c:\windows\system32\storprop.dll error with USB

I had a problem with my USB flash drive (memory stick) that I bought recently.  I used a Sandisk U3 Titanium 2 GB flash drive with U3 technology.  I bought a Sandisk Cruzer 16 GB drive in addition to the another flash drive.  Now when I plug the new "Cruzer" it displays the following error message

    DEVICE SETUP ERROR
Windows could not load the installer for hard drive.  Contact your hardware vendor.

After clicking OK, the box NEW HARDWARE FOUND is displayed and when you select this option to locate and install the driver (recommended) it immediately returns the following:

    newdev.exe - incorrect Image
C:\Windows\system32\StorProp.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.  Try to install the program by using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the provider of software for support.

From there, you select OK and he repeats the MISTAKE of the DEVICE INSTALLER and then displays the NEW HARDWARE DETECTED again.  This time, it says to insert the disc that came with the device.  When you select that you do not have the disk, it asks if you want to find a solution.  Then he said: it could not install your SanDisk Cruzer USB device.

At first I thought it was a problem with the "Cruzer" so I called SanDisk and crossed their tech support and finally, he recommended that I have to contact Microsoft as it was not a problem with their device.  This seems to think as my U3 device still works fine.

Today, I went to plug my new external hard drive Seagate through my USB port and has received the exact same guests and error messages.

I noticed also about a month when I inserted my SD card in my SD card reader, which is built into the laptop, I got an error message.  I went back today and he reinserted and received the same error messages that I described above.  I'm guessing that all of these mistakes probably revolve around the c:\windows\system32\storprop.dll file but I don't know what to do about this.  I tried looking online to find an answer, but could not find anyone else with similar information.

In addition, once all the error messages are recognized, then the devices can be used, however for the SanDisk Cruzer, it you cannot use the software of the U3 technology.

Anyone who can provide any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated!
