• Can I add a drop-down list for the bookmarks toolbar?

  I would like to have a series of categories of bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar. Let's say a button called "Household" could have a menu drop down menu links to my sites popular for "Home repair," 'Kitchen', 'Furniture finish', etc.

  And maybe another button may be labeled "Science" and its menu drop-down can contain links to 'Environment', 'Medicine', 'Space', 'Geology', etc.

  And to be really good, each subcategory could have subcategories beneath them.

  Create nested folders (folders in folders) on the bookmarks toolbar. You can also do the same thing in the Menu bookmark instead of bookmarks toolbar.

  1. Right-click on the bookmarks toolbar and choose 'new folder '; Name this folder cleaning
  2. Right-click on the case in the toolbar bookmarks for each subfolder you want under household and choose "new folder"; Name these folders (i.e., home repair, kitchen, furniture, etc.)
  3. Drag or create bookmarks in each of these appropriate subfolders to the name of the subfolder.

  Repeat the above for another folder/sub-sub-sub-folders (i.e., Science folder under folders, geology, environment, medicine, space, etc.).

  I just found out that if you click of the left arrow button, a list of the previous sites you've visited are listed. You click on the one you want to go.

  Hi - I want to add a menu component from the 'title bar ' of my application.  Something very similar to that implemented in the Poynt application.

  I already gave up to use something similar to setTitle and have a horizontalFieldManager added to my request before I add a vertical Manager.  First, I added a label to my horizontal Manager field and that works fine, but when I tried (to test) to add an ObjectChoiceField he appeared on the next vertical row, not next to my text.  I'm quite lost when it comes to customize aspects of the UI of my BB apps.

  I suspect that the problem here is that, by default, the ObjectChoiceField will use the entire width.  You should limit its width, by substituting the layout and getPreferredWidth for the ObjectChoiceField.  Memory, a LabelField, will ask only for the width it needs.

  Here is an example that puts a DateField and an ObjectChoiceField in the title area.  I hope you can rework to meet your requirement.

  The Tools menu has a drop-down list, but the entries are not in alphabetical order. Options and a few individual add-ons/extensions appear in the list, but not in alphabetical order. It would be useful to them in alphabetical order in the list, however, I can't find any option to sort. Did I miss a hidden, built-in option for sorting? Is there an add-on may be providing a way to sort? Someone has an idea? I have not found anything this either in my research on the subject... just what is the sorting of bookmarks.   There is no built-in opportunities to change the menus of the application. The easiest way to do this is by using the editor from Menu Add-on.

• How to trigger a refresh of a drop-down list when the selection is changed

  This is a general question of ExtendScript, but since I work with FM, I'll ask here first. I have a bit of a paradox here and I'm not sure of the best way to manage it.

  I have a dialog box with a drop-down list, where I want to refresh some controls when the user changes the selection in the list (dropdownList.onChange). This includes them refresh the content of the list itself. However, the problem is, whenever I try to update the content of the list, onChange triggers again. So, if I put the call to update box in the onChange handler, it will result an infinite loop, because my upgrade function fires onChange when it refreshes the list.

  Does anyone know a better methodology, where I can safely triggers a refresh of a drop-down list in the list's onChange event handler? I really wish that onChange was reserved for an action of the user only, or at least there is a property for this purpose.

  You can't "Refresh" a menu drop-down.

  But you can rebuild.

  You must do it "manually".

  As I do:

  1. I have a picture I want to show in the dropdownlist control.

  2. I have delete all children: myList.removeAll ();

  3 I have rebuild the list via mylist.add ("item", "myArray [index] in a for - loop.

  But if you know the exact position of the elements to remove or add, you can do so via splice()

  I am trying to build a form using LiveCycle Acrobat but have problems with the drop-down lists.

  Inititaly I just wanted to fill in the fields in a table based on a matching menu selection dropdown in another table.

  I used the following code and it worked fine:

  You use .rawValue in the change event. This will cause problems because the selection of the users has not received .rawValue from the drop-down list at the time when the change event is triggered.

  Move your script as it should to the output of the dropdown event.

  I built a contact form for my website using a tutorial from Lynda.com on building UI elements.  The last step of this tutorial is to put all the elements together in a form of contact, but for some reason, that they have left behind the menu item drop-down, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to write this code.  The problem is that the menu is designed as a movieclip containing several other movieclips and actionscript (button, list, scrollbar, etc.). I can get it to trace the information selected with this code in the drop of movieclip:

  If currentValue is the variable of the partition that you want to send in your email, then simply add another property in your vars URLVariables:

  or something like that. You may need to include a path to the currentValue variable, if it is not available everywhere wherever this form is in the film you.
