• HP Pavilion 500-205DT: my speakers are not satisfactory for some areas.

• How to make a 'Ding' sounds and 'block' other screws when a Subvi is open?

  Hi all

  I work in a UI with a main VI and some subVIs and I would add 'ownership' that windows sometimes used to force the user to choose something that is found on a given window (in this case would be in a Subvi).

  In windows, when there is a small window that appears, the user is required to select one of the alternatives. In this case, when the user clicks outside the window, there is a "ding" sound, the small window flashes, and the mouse can not choose anything other windows (I hope, I could explain myself).

  That's what I want to implement in labview (if possible).

  Just put the VI be Modal.  Go to the properties of VI, then the appearance of the window tab.  You can simply select the option of dialogue for a rapid solution.

  and no arrows are clickable and no help by adding the dynamic subVIs!  For example, when the application is built, it is malfunctioning.

  When you use a project LV then you would be able to include all the necessary screws when building!

  BTW. Dynamically called screw should be included in the project too...

• How to use 'Start synchronous call' to run a Subvi timeout event and keep in hand vi still running?

  I have an application must periodically check the State of the instrument, and I put it in the "Timeout" vi main event. I need also call some subVis to configuration etc. Somehow when I called these Subvi, the Timeout event in my main vi did not work. I then use the ' Start Asynchronous Call "to call the subVis. Turns out it works fine with a few subvis worthless back, but not as expected with subvis 'return the required value.

  I have attached a simple test, my main vi call two dlg subvis: AboutDlg.vi and SettingsDlg.vi. In the case of delay, I just use a counter for the simulation. When you run it, you can see the meter taken into account when the AboutDlg.vi has been called, but stopped when SettingsDlg.vi is called.

  As I remember, someone suggested to use the queue to pass the return value, but I don't know how to implement here.

  Anyone have any suggestions on this subject?

  Try to play with it - I modified your code to search a Q in there.

  You want to change the bunches to data types more useful (perhaps enum and Variant, so you can ungroup variants according to the enum contribution), you can type def clusters to make it easier to maintain and you will need TO handle the situation where the called VI is left open on program close - I couldn't be bothered, as it was not your immediate deliverance)

  Hope this give you some ideas - totalyy not tested, but should work.

• How we prevent screw consisting of a large number of subvis

  I need your suggestions regarding the prevention of the labour dispute with two PC on same vi. I built a program and there a lot of subvis and I work with 2 PCs. When I detects an error on a Subvi or something else, that I have to change things subvis and releated on the same PC by transferring all subvis records and live by USB key. Sometimes, this causes an error. for example, I could delete some subvis unconsciously. I've read about labview project and libraries, but documents are not explanatory. I want to collect all my vis and subvis in a project or folder. but I don't really know how to do it. And also I want to change subvis or live in this folder, whenever I want. How can I handle this?   Create a new empty project, save it neer your main VI then the main VI for the project. The project automatically finds all the dependencies of your main VI (subVIs, CTL, etc...), in the windows project, you have a tab "Files", from there, you have a tree that shows you where are all the dependencies of your project. This is really useful.

  If you go back to the tab 'Éléments' and create a new generation sepcification (right-click on the icon), and then choose "new > Distribution Source" you can set an "export" which will include all you the source code.

• Help return to iPhoto + delete Photos library to recover disk space

  When the Photos were initially introduced, I didn't know what I would get in when I just clicked "convert to Photos" or whatever the wording was.

  A week in the new application I realized that it wasn't for me (lack of some key tools like iPhoto), so just started using iPhoto again instead

  -but only now I realize the new Photos app seems to be "hogging" lots of disk space:

  When I look under the images, I see my iPhotos current library clocking in at about 64GM.

  While the Photos library clocks (now are more used) in a 66GB even higher.

  My question: How do I clear all (assuming that duplicate) photos in Photos and get much needed storage space of hard drive?

  Is it save to just delete the folder from the library of Photos in my pictures folder or I have to delete all the photos in the Photos app?

  If you don't use Photos and has no pictures in you need to trash just the photo library - it will not save a lot of space because of the hard links that are used, but if you use any Photos, then there is no reason to keep the library autour and when you are ready to migrate again (you will need since iPhoto is not supported and an upgrade it) break)

  I have a macbook pro, mid-2012.

  OS version: 10.11.3 (El Capitan).

  I had to format my computer and installs all the photos/iphotos files I had in the cloud (dropbox), but now, after having copied the folder to the back, I noticed that I have a problem - history

  I see 4 different folders, all under the iPhoto library:

  1 iPhoto library

  2 iPhoto Library.migratedphotolibrary

  3 iPhoto Library.photolibrary

  4. photos Library.photoslibrary

  I remember I have started a sort of fusion between iPhoto & Photos once Apple has released the new Photos app, but frankly, I never understood the concept, what I'm doing and why (sorry, that was my mistake, and maybe I should have approached support that).

  So, my questions:

  1. How can I configure the app Photos to point to the appropriate folder, and the folder where it should be?

  2. How can ensure me that ALL the images I've ever taken are covered in this folder (merged correctly), in order to avoid the lack of some of them?

  3. I would like to delete unnecessary records because they take a lot of space, but how can I be sure I'm not losing images?

  must remove or libraries, until you find one that works... Frankly, Dropbox is not a safe place to store some libraries. Libraries, I tested in Dropbox have been corrupted by the synchronization.  SO keep all of them, or copies of them, until you found one that works.

  To find the best look of the library for the file size and the date last modified.  You have imported new photos in your amber iphoto library library you first tried to open the new Photos.app?  If this is not the case, try to move the Photos Library.photoslibrary Photos icon in the Dock.  The photos must be able to open this library.

  If Library.photoslibrary Photos is only small, try opening the largest of iPhoto Library.photolibrary or iPhoto Library in pictures by dragging one of them on the Photos icon.  One of them works?

• I need drivers for a HP Pavilion DV2120us

  I recently did a clean installation of Windows XP and I encounter a difficulty finding all the right drivers for my HP Pavilion DV2120us. I have tried every single driver available on the HP site which is available for this particular model. I don't have access to the internet on this particular computer. I guess I can't connect to internet because lack me some necessary drivers. Here is a screenshot of my device manager. Any help would be appreciated

  I have a DAC scheme that needs to read two channels of digital data from the data portal and perform processing on these channels. The reading is done using the package treatment "read data" block. for debugging purposes, I have a "scope" connected block package to this block "read data". In parallel to the scope block, the data is sent to an external measurement system.

  When I put the channels that I want to address in the data portal and manually start the measurement (using the green button "Start the measure" in the toolbar of the CAD), the content of these channels is displayed in the scope, measurement system receives the data correctly and the DAC system works as expected - so in principle everything is correct so far.

  Now, all this must be controlled from a VBS script. This VBS script first runs the data portal, then wrote my two channnels in the data portal and finally loads and starts the DAC system (call SchemeLoad (...): call SchemeCheck ("Normal"): call MKSCheck (0): dial the SchemeMeasStart()). In doing so, the system fails, I do not see in the window of the scope of data and measurement system receives no data at all - as if no data was never read from the data portal.

  When I wemove the 'SchemeMeasStart' command (which is currently the last command in the script), run the script and then start the measurement manually using the button "Start the measure" above, everything works well again.

  So it seems I have a problem with access to channels of data when the DCA plan is started from a script. In I made a mistake here (e.g., lack of some script commands based on the DAC)? Or is this a known bug, and does anyone know a solution for this?

  I created my own example in ball mode. Everything worked without problems. The script does not use the MKSCheck command. It seems that this command is not necessary to run a CAD program. When I added the MKSCheck manually, I had the same problem with the packages blocks.

  Since ball does not use MKSCheck, it must record this command simply jump and your DAC plan should work as expected.

• good ways to save labview project on a development computer directories

  I created an application recently. Every day will be copy and paste the project watch folder, rename it and change it. When I finished, I deleted the older file and left the latest version on the desktop. Yesterday, I thought to do a quick change after evaluating the executable application for a few days. I found some subvis have been deleted or moved.

  Is there a recommended way to save work daily project development?

  Of course, a tag is a snapshot. You can think of it as a folder that contains your project as it was when you created the tag. Don't worry branches yet. You will probably never use them. For my part never need one. That said, that a branch is simply a tag that you use differently. You never change a tag (you can, but shouldn't), but you change the branches. It is a fork of a project. To create a tag (or branch), you select tags/branches and set the name. For example something like rest/project name/project name_8_28_2011. You can then export it from the repo browser. One of the most impressive things about subversion's documentation. Google 'book of red beans' and read the pdf file. The express are about command line, but you can still get a good idea of the concepts of tags and branches and other aspects of version control.

• OOP - how to pass variables between the branches of the object, but not instances of VI

  I have a main VI where a thread object goes through some subVIs initialization and then branches off into several parallel loops. My understanding is that each branch becomes a separate instance of the object. Data is passed between the loops using global variables, wrapped in the accessors (I can change this if someone has a better approach - reducing to a minimum the memory and the CPU usage is very important).

  I need to have a large number of instances of the main VI running at the same time. What would be the best way to ensure that the data transmitted between the loops of one instance of VI do not interfere with the data transmitted between the loops of another instance of VI?

  Hey beauzhang,

  I hope that you are well today. It certainly seems that we lack in some problems with the different sources and data types of wells. LVM VI Express load you have emerged from a table of waveforms. So we would need to do a few things. First of all, we need to ignore the range of interests, and we must get the waveform data elements table.

  I have provided an example of how we can extract the waveform in position 0 of the table and then pass the array of data values to the script node Y. I have configured the entry of the data of a table 1 d Reals node (by adding an entry and then the right of entry and select choose data type.)

  If you are interested in getting the values Y and build the table like you did in the script, you need to implement a different subset of table and looping mechanism in LabVIEW code to move each item to the script individually. However, I would recommend working with the entry level instead.
