Windows XP Home Edition does not load in any mode after reboot to uninstall Norton
I wanted to get rid of Norton anti-virus, then, I have downloaded and run the Norton Uninstaller. After what seemed an eternity he finished and asked me to restart the computer to complete the uninstalation. I clicked the botton "Restart now" and after the screen, which shows the bios is nothing. No loading screen, no beeps or anything else, just black. In addition, it does the same thing in all modes.
I removed the HDD and an IDE to USB for connecting to my mobile backup (Win7 Ultimate) and performed a virus with TrendMicro Titanium antivirus scan + and scan with malewarebytes paid version maleware. No virus or maleware found. So, I ran a check/repair through backup with no found error disc.
I do not have a XP or 7 CD repair/install, nor am I money right now. I really need to get going again.
Infected computer:
Compaq Presario M2000
Windows XP Home Edition SP3
Processor Intel Centrino Pentium M 1.5 GHz
1 GB of RAM
Intel Extreme Graphics 2
Machine backup:
Dell Inspiron 1501
Windows 7 Ultimate Edition SP2
AMD Turion 64 MK - 36 2.0 GHz
3 GB RAM
Integrated ATI Radeon Xpress 1150
Looks like you somehow corrupted the bootloader.
If I'm not mistaken, you can technically download disc for Microsoft Windows XP SP3 OEM HOME legally, as long as you use your current license.
You can also communicate with Compaq and request a repair disk.

However, the satellite A100-784 supports a chip 82562GZ Intel 10/100 Mbit (Ekron) of Lan.

Windows 7 Home Premium does not load
I am currently in safe mode with network. The two safemodes work very well.
However, my Normal Windows 7 Home Premium will not load. I get a black screen after startup. Windows will not even go to the Page of the user.
I was at my desk and clicked on the Mozilla Firefox browser. When a guest is up asking if its 'ok' firefox in the Trash Dump. Then, he gave me 29 guests asking if it is "ok". Of course, I clicked 'No' which then froze my computer.
Then, I Hardbooted the computer and went to restart. After the bios loading system... my computer would achieve was a black screen.
Since then, I did a system restore to several days before. And that has not fixed the problem.
My guess is that I've damaged some system files? Or is it a virus. I use Avast basic protection.
Please get back to me with more information. Thank you
Hi Michael,
Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.
According to the description, I understand you get a black screen after start up.
This could happen due to conflicts between third-party applications.
You can disconnect all external devices except the keyboard and mouse and check if you are able to boot to the desktop and check.
I also recommend what to do the Startup Repair. Follow these steps:
To perform a Startup Repair follow these steps:
Insert the Windows 7 DVD and restart the computer.
When we are asked to press a key to boot from the DVD, please press enter or the SPACEBAR.
Choose your language settings, and then click Next.
Click on repair your computer.
Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
In the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair. Startup Repair can invite you to make choices as it tries to solve the problem, and if necessary, it may restart your computer, because it makes the repairs.
Access the link below for more information on the Startup Repair:

My product key of windows xp home edition does not work?
Good while my laptop was a major virus, so after 5 antivirus, antispyware programs could not locate or get rid of it, I had no choice but to re - install windows xp home edition. But the problem is that my product key does not work. Why is this and what can I do, I don't have money to buy another computer laptop/product key
Dell inspiron 6400
p.s the guarantee expired already tried that one.
In this case, you are probably using the wrong type of disc.
You MUST use an OEM disc with an OEM key in WIndows XP
You MUST use a disk of Windows XP Home Edition with a WIndows XP Home Key

Satellite C660-108 - Windows XP Home Edition does not install
I try to install Windows XP Home Edition on a Toshiba Satellite C660-108, without success.
I changed the BIOS disk in "Compatibility" mode (what is the same thing as "Legacy IDE"?) by following the instructions on a Yahoo Answers question on the same issue.
What has improved the situation, in what I now get an error message a few minutes after installing XP said "Starting Windows" instead of immediately after. The error message is the same that I have already received and is as follows:
"A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer...". "Technical information: * STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D663C, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000).
Thanks in advance for any help,
Luke
PS - I'm a mac user and do not have much experience in the use of Windows laptops, so I need instructions spelled out clearly enough if possible.
The error could be related to drive HARD and the setting in the BIOS of the controller...
Probably, you need to install Win XP using SATA AHCI mode and to add the driver SATA as described here:http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9401AN0000R01.htm
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/SPD4603LT0000R01.htmI found a similar description in the MS forum:

Windows XP Home edition does not charge up - screen Toshiba and then nothing
I opened my computer to stand by earlier. And received an error message such as:
WINDOWS CANNOT CONTINUE RUNNING BECAUSE THE FILE IS DAMAGED AND UNREADABLE...
Then he had a countdown until it restarted. After the computer restarted (loads of screen toshiba upwards) then nothing happends. I managed to get into the safe mode start page, but when I select start in safe mode, it does nothing, actually freezes. Seems that the problem is with XP.I also tried to "last good configuration" but who also refuses to load.
I can, however, in the BIOS.The black and white background writes startup screen that flashes briefly upward when after that the toshiba screen doesn't even come to the top.
I have a P100-429 Satilite using XP SP2 (or 3) does not remember.
Is this a hardware problem? I lose data?
I am aware that my system was clean and I was using a good anti-virus.
Please please let me know if you have any suggestions or comments.
Thanks in advance, Max...
Hi RisSsky,
you are in a deep deep sh... t... No. not really...
Looks like the filestructure hard disk is damaged.
the hard drive is recognized by the bios? means, it is listed as a device?
There is a sound of the hard drive? scratch or buzzing or ticking?CHKDSK may help, but I would 'safe mode' where you want not to lose data on disk.
don't panik, we will do things.
2 options to solve this problem:
the first and save:
-Remove the old hdd (you need later)
-get a new hard drive and make a recovery/installation on the new drive.
-also get a usb - hdd connector to access old data hdd and copy on the new disk.
or the 2nd:
-run chkdsk on your hard drive, maybe you need to do this with a "live-system-on-cd.
Be aware that if there is a problem it will get worse...
-start in safe modeIf you're lucky, the 2nd option will do.
as said before I'd do it "the safe way. -
Windows XP Home edition does not recognize new HDD on the Qosmio G20
I have a Qosmio G20/390LS bought a year ago, when I worked at the Japan, I tried to upgrade the hard drive with a new HD 100 GB Hitachi SATA but I faced a problem that XP does not recognize the HD.
For your reference, the Bios sees the new HD, when I install the XP operating system I load the driver downloaded from the Toshiba Web site but no way RAID with F6... XP does not recognize the HD.Do you have any idea how to fix?
Thank youHello
Computers portable Japanese are unknown to me, but if this laptop comes with two hard drives and RAID option do not forget the good option is set in the BIOS. Without the right BIOS setting you will not be able to install the OS.
On Qosmio G30, I was able to install Vista when for two HDD HARD drive settings were 0-RAID-1. Check it please and let us know.

Hello
I have a Satellite L450D-13 X, who was on Windows 7 64 bit, but I just put XP on it, hoping for better game performance.
I downloaded all the drivers XP Toshibas and all seem to work except the sound. I've been following discussions about this anywhere and try some of the suggestions that end up being for a slightly different model, but nothing will do.Help, please.
What exactly is the problem?
Sound card is properly installed in the Device Manager?
What version of Windows is installed (SP2 or SP3)? -

The firefox home page does not load.
When I click on the desktop icon, the home page does not load.
Do you see an indication that Firefox is running? For example, a button/tab appears on the Windows taskbar with a thumbnail image of the window? If there is a miniature test, right-clicking on it and choosing expand them. Show the window?
If nothing seems to be happening at all, no button, and no error, you use Webroot security software? On another user reported a change in the Webroot to allow Firefox configuration start: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38 & t = 2969819 & p = 14380601 #p14380601
