  I have a HP Mini 1000 (flash drive, no hard drive). I rolled back the more early to get rid of the files is no longer needed on the computer. When I reboot, I get a message saying that wininet.dll was not found. I tried rebooting in safe mode and got the same message. When the screen appears, it is empty and useless.   Safe Mode boot and run sfc/scannow will not help you for two reasons:

  sfc/scannow will not work in Mode without failure.

  Running sfc/scannow will not replace the missing file even if it worked.

  Of course you should be suspicious files that you download are unknowns, b sources
  UT there are copies of the file wininet.dll on your system in other places.

  You can also use the Task Manager to copy from the flash drive on your hard disk if you want to, but I would keep the last option and get a copy of the file from a trusted source.

  If the c:\windows\system32\wininet.dll file is missing, you will see a message like this:

  Explorer.EXE - unable to locate component
  This application has failed to start because WININET.dll not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

  By clicking OK, you will then see a message like this:

  dwwin.exe - Unable to locate component
  This application has failed to start because WININET. DLL.dll was not found.
  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

  Depending on your configuration, you may see other messages complaining, so just keep clicking on the OK button as they come.

  By clicking OK, you will eventually have to an empty office with just the presentation of wallpaper background.

  Since the Explorer.exe does not start without the file, and so is not running, there will be no icons on the desktop or the taskbar, but you can always
  navigate and do other things using the Task Manager.

  Depending on your configuration, other applications may complain in various ways, so just click on the button OK under each message arrives.
  You may not be able to replace the missing file until all the pop-up error messages are recognized (work quickly).

  (you can replace any missing file from the Task Manager).

  We know that XP keeps copies of critical system files in the following folder:

  c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

  You must copy the backup copy of the file in the dllcache folder in the system32 folder where it belongs.

  In Task Manager, click file, new task (run...), browse and navigate to the following folder:

  c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

  In the navigation window, do not forget the "files of type" drop-down is set to "All files" or you will not be able to 'see' the file you need when you browse folders.

  Navigate to the following folder:

  c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

  If you don't see the file, do not forget the "Files of type" drop-down list is set to "All files" or you won't see all of the files.

  If the file is also missing from the dllcahce folder, look for a copy in this folder:

  c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

  Locate the file wininet.dll, right-click and choose copy (it copies the file to the Windows Clipboard).

  Browsing from a level in the following folder:

  c:\Windows\System32

  Right-click on an empty area in the window of c:\windows\system32 and choose Paste to paste in the missing file where it belongs.

  If no popup messages launched from other applications to complain about the missing file, just click OK so you can complete the
  file copy process.  If there is a message to complain about, you must click OK to get rid of the message to complete the file copy.

  After the file has been copied, the Task Manager, click on stop, "Restart" to reboot the system (always try to avoid using the power
  button to restart the system).

  It is possible that the file is also missing in the dllcache folder, but it is in other places on your system.

  If the c:\windows\system32\wininet.dll file is missing, you can also replace it with boot the system using the safe mode with command prompt
  and copy the backup copy of the file.

  After the boot safe mode with command prompt in the command prompt window, replace the lack of files with the backup copy enter the following command (the command prompt window):

  Copy c:\windows\system32\dllcache\wininet.dll c:\windows\system32

  If the file is also missing from the dllcahce folder, look for a copy in this folder:

  c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

  Once your system is running, you can determine how it is broken in the first place and fix this problem.

  If everything works properly in safe mode, you need to configure your pc in clean boot mode. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

  If all above fails, try running the SFC, you are able to open the Task Manager, click application-> new task & Type-> sfc / scannow-> ok

  You will also need your cd of windows xp for this repair.

• What is wininet.dll.mui and tcpmon.ini and why their absence results in irregular scrolling? And what I do about it?

  I had problems with erratic scrolling. Grope in the Microsoft Help site led me to an instruction to use the System File Checker tool to see if the corresponding files were corrupted and get fixed them. That worked for all programs except:

  WinInet.dll.MUI and tcpmon.ini, which seem to be missing on my system.

  I don't know how to reinstall or where to find them. The info in the instructions does not seem to work to find or their installation.

  And I always have problems with erratic scrolling.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  I would hold off the coast on the reset Internet Explorer.

  In your previous post you said wininet.dll.mui, and I saw messages that refer to which is a problem of Windows Search.  If you have Vista SP1, then check out the following to reinstall:

  It was working fine using the following calls of the LIB in Wininet.dll. The FTPPUT call has worked a dozen times, then stop working and gives me an ERROR - 32 NOW.  Not sure why this happened... I did restart the computer... The error is created in line with the FtpPutFile came back FALSE and it's work and in fact gtransferred the file to the ser er before as shown using filezilla to check the transferred file ok.   I'm trying to import a .dll file that I created using visual studio 2010 sp1 (with c ++) in labview. (let's say the basic example of great described here):
