• Pavilion 17-g173ca: use laptop without battery?

  When I bought this laptop a few months ago, the seller advised to remove the battery with power cord plugged. She said she would smoke less on the heat generated.  I wonder if this is advised.  If I remove the battery, I lose everything I'm working on.  I noticed it's hot, but not terribly so, and inconvenient, the vents are on the same side as the mouse.

  Where I live, it is not unusual for the flash output disabled for a second or two, if a storm is coming.  We have most of our serious electronics plugged into a battery backup, just for that purpose.  Unfortunately, we do have one for the laptop.

  I wonder if anyone out there has thoughts on this issue?  I would be grateful for feedback.

  If you cancel the driver for graphics card AMD to the previous version, the HDMI output works again. That's what I discovered when I couldn't access my Epson projector. There must be a glitch in the new driver that was released by AMD in March 2016.

  Lately, my laptop has been get very hot and the fan is really loud, even if I do things as little as surfing the internet, for the moment, I closed all the non-essential programs in the Task Manager I do not use, and turns at 70 degrees (Celsius) sometimes still warmer upwards to 80 degrees (Celsius) while watching videos on Netflix. When used for games, it goes up to 90 degrees. This has happened for a while now, before even to update my video card driver, so I eliminated that as a possible reason.
