  My environment is--> Oracle 11 g Database Release 1 on Windows 2003 Server SP2.
  Requirement is-> reading last line of a log file with UTL_FILE.
  
  I am reading the last line of a log file that is generated by our own application. I am able to get the last row using the script but the problem below is in the log file, has some blank lines at the end so I get the output as white.

  I think that there are many ways... we have to save the last string that is not empty like this:

  I've been a print designer and web since 1992 and have used software and Apple hardware exclusively. Apple has always provided a superior product, however, in the latest versions of OS X, your OS doesn't remember the last used folder.

  In each application, I have to start from scratch and use a shortcut menu drop-down or menu of take me to the last used folder. Imagine how unnecessary click it brings me back to navigate to the last used folder, when I use my Mac for print and web design daily? In the last year alone, representing thousands of wasted clicks.

  I'M FED UP WITH BEGIN IDLE WHENEVER I NEED TO OPEN OR TO SAVE A FILE. I AM SICK OF NOT BEING ABLE TO CHOOSE THE LAST FOLDER 'USED' AS A DEFECT IN MY WORKFLOW.

  Please, I beg you. I'm BEGGING YOU can provide updates to OS X 10.10 (and later versions) and add the "LAST FOLDER USED" FEATURE to your operating system.

  And please, don't provide me with 'useful' shortcuts, workarounds, software plugins or after-market to solve this lack of your operating system. I tried them all and none of them work as "Last folder used" in my workflow.

• my computer crashed and restored using the system recovery disk. I saved all the files using a .fbw format. I can't read. What should I do?

  My computer crashed while updating. It's a double 4 year old HP desktop processor. I could get into the repair screen, but nothing would be useful. I backed up data (115 GB) using the tools available on a drive hard usb. They are under the folder MINWIN and meet 31 different files. All I get is the demand to put in the disc. I copied the last file on DVD, but it will not read it. All other recovery programs say there is no backup file.

  1. are you able to boot to the desktop now?

  2 have you tried to reinstall the operating system?
  3. what program did you use to create a backup?
  4. do you get an error code or error message?

  According toOberwald, it seems that fbw files are generated by HP, not Vista backup tool. I suggest you to read the following article to restore files from Microsoft.

  If you are not able to boot to the desktop, then I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

  Method 1:
  Start in safe mode and then try to run the restoration of the system to a point before you install the update and check if the problem persists.

  I'm so angry. I did everything and I can't connect my new pc Windows 8! I live in New Jersey and set up my network connection there, but I'm going to school in California (where I don't had not set up a connection without wire/local). I have configured my pc via a microsoft account and now it does not allow me to log in because I am not connected to the internet and can not connect to the internet. I can not update/use command prompt to connect to the wifi/etc. because all actions require my password. I even tried to use an Ethernet cable. Nothing works! He always says "your PC is offline.".   But... In order to implement a local account, you must first connect to the Microsoft account that brings back us to the same error.  I had this problem as well and he needs to be addressed.  Whenever you walk away a network before installation on your PC/laptop, you will have this problem.  Try this... turn off PC/laptop, then go to another computer and sign in to Microsoft Web site account.  Connect with an Ethernet cable and turn on your PC/laptop with the connection problem and try to connect again.  It should work.

  I am trying to download a binary (.exe) file using the socket, where the length of the file is not known. Please take a look at the code I use:

  Problem is: I am able to download files within 10 seconds when the content length is known. But when the content length is not known, its about 1 and a half minute to download, also the progress bar gets hit for much of the time.

  FYI: socket is opened in binary mode, file is downloaded correctly (even if it takes abt a minute). BTW Im using extendscript CS5.5

  So, we can reasonably conclude that the last reading at the end of the stream returns a short read when the other side blocks.

  Unfortunately, this is clearly insufficient since you can get short readings all the time.

  I don't know why you say we do not know the length of the file, HTTP, it provides you the Content Length of the response field.

  But the easy answer is to get the server to close for you. It's easy enough, with connection: close. Why were specify you

  I suspect, you are better to use something like socketBin.read(64*1024) for a 64 k buffer size, but it doesn't seem to affect the on-the-wire protocol, so maybe its not so important.

  I'm trying to implement an export written in C 6.0. I can make the TDMS files using the DDC_ controls without any problem. But I can't understand how waveform TDMS files. I thought that if I added properties wf_ I should be able to define the waveform = Yes. But it seems to be more complicated than that.

  Hi Don,

  Thanks for the additional information.  After doing research a bit more, it seems that there are 3 required properties so that the property of waveform to be set to yes.  These are wf_start_offset, wf_increment and wf_samples.  If you add in a call such as the following, this should solve the problem:

  DDC_CreateChannelProperty (lphchannel, "wf_samples", DDC_Int32, 5);

  Just replace with the length of your table 5.

  I think that we will need a little more information as to how you capture the data, what data you capture, etc.

  If you capture a waveform, is to extract the time data waveform which includes the t0 and dt values, so you can understand the time stamp of a specific data point as in the image below.

  I suspect that your problem is illegal characters (' / ') in your path, certainly it is the case in your original vi. You need to format your path, something like this (underscore instead of a slash stroke):

  I made a new class for LabVIEW, and I try to save a file using XML. Attached pictures show how to create the file and how I read it, and I get the error message. I tried a variety of different methods and nothing worked so far. I was wondering if anyone had any advice or examples to save a class to file via XML.

  I also thought just not related to the group all the data structure, recording via XML and then just group it upward and writing to an instance of the class. This seems to be more work that needs to be necessary and should be redone every time I have change the class.

  Second - I solved it! I was about to send a screenshot of my hierarchy for you to take a look at, but that made me think. I re-arranged my hierarchy; This solves the problem.

  Now, for all those who had the same problem (Error 1527):

  The first screenshot is my original project hierarchy, which did not work.

  The second is my hierarchy updated the project that solved the problem.

  All attachments add about 33% size thanks to the encoding. This makes your 31MB file around 41 ~ 42 MB. I doubt that your ISP/mail server allows something that big, and of course, I would not be the recipient of a message that size.

  Create a YouTube account and put it there. You can make public or private and provide the link to the recipient.
