Last visited slide advanced Action

Anyone know how to set up a special slide being the last slide visited as a condition to perform a fast action?

Hello

Which must be performed with this advanced action and at what time?

You will need a conditional action, that will be triggered on each slide (on Enter?).  The condition itself can use the variable system cpInfoLastVisitedSlide of the to compare with the number of the slide of the particular slide. But beware: slide numbering begins with 0. If you want to be sure about number of slides of this particular slide, insert the system cpInfoCurrentSlide variable in this slide, but you should know that here starts it index by 1. So if the particular slide has the value 7 for cpInfoCurrentSlide, you must enter the value 6 in the State.

For the condition no object ID is necessary, but I don't know what the action itself must do? If it is pointing to the ID of the object you need to create an action for each slide, because you need to change the ID's

    Hello world

    I have a question about the return to last visited slide function, and how do I customize the system cpInfoLastVisitedSlid variable, to restrict some access to the project.

    Because I don't know anyway to keep my word clear and concise, I'll try to explain my question more...

    Version I use: Captivate 5

    Currently, I am working on a project that includes the course content and a navigation set guide.

    Drag each content of course has 3 buttons:

    1. Return to the previous slide
    2. Go to the next slide
    3. Navigation Guide (go to navigation guide menu page)

    The Navigation Guide is a small session 30-slide tell our audience how to navigate and print the pdf version. Here is how we structure the Guide:

    1. menu Page, on the menu page, there are 4 button
      1. button to return to the last slide
      2. button section has
      3. button in section B
      4. button for section C
    2. A section in the guide
    3. Section B of the guide
    4. Section C of the guide

    On each article, there are buttons that can go to their sub-sections and return to the menu...

    the user accesses any slide of course content for the navigation guide. The slide of frist that they will see after entering the navigation guide is the page of menu with 4 buttons. If the user click on the "go back to the last visited slide" button, the button will be going out there where the user was in the slide of course content.

    However, if the user click on the other buttons to view the content in the guide. When they return to the menu, the last visited slide become the last page, they see in the guide... so they cannot exit the guide and return to the course except we assign a button to access a particular slide in the course content...

    Here's the question:

    Is there a way to package the system variable, cpInfoLastVisitedSlid, don't forget to slip that in navigation guide, he visited, and only remember the slides of the course session?

    Thank you for your patience to finish reading my long question...

    and thanks to Lilybiri and RodWard answered my question on How to create user variables to follow the slides in question?

    for the reason that I can not connect to my previous account... but I really want to say, you guys give me a great help.

    The cpInfoLastVisitedSlide system variable is read-only and you cannot change its value by using advanced actions.

    However, you may not be able to achieve what you want by creating your own variable and using the value of the variable system with last few advanced actions.

    First of all, you need to work on all the scenarios where your username do NOT want to jump to the last slide literal has visited, but to another slide. From your description, it seems that these scenarios would be linked to the fact that your username entered the Group of slides explaining navigation. Fix?

  • slide/advanced action does not

    Hello

    I am currently using Captivate 6 and I setup a project that has a timer on the question slide 1st and then I implemented a tip action so when then the timer stops it will jump to the slide results otherwise it will continue on the project.
    Here is my Advanced action.

    Untitled.jpg

    The timer variable is v_time that I installed on time and created in the variables.

    I put each slide (excluding the first slide of the question and the results slide) with the topic fast action on the entrance and exit of the slide.

    It's used to work when I tested published in the web browser. I have a copy of one I published in January that works but now for some reason it does not work.

    I think there is a problem with the action of jumping to drag, but I'm not 100% sure.

    I tried to recreate a new project with the same tip action, but it still doesn't work.

    I'm stuck and feel I'm wasting my time. I spent 3 days on this and I'm ripping my hair out.

    Help, please!

    Thanks in advance

    Kim

    Kim, what event you attach the advanced action? If you use the 'old' included with CP clock widget (exist also in previous versions), it has no events, will only change the value of the variable associated user. You have action by another event like a drag event (enter, leaving). You have only a message pops up when the time has elapsed, does not prevent the user to answer the question.

    Second question: what version are you using? Associate you the variable v_time in the properties of the Widget? Did you type the exact "v_time" name, because there is a problem with the timer in 6.0.1 widget, which prevents the seizure of some characters. Maybe it's the issue that you are facing now. You must be sure that the correct name is linked and that the variable exists. Lastly but not least, the values of the variable associated with 6 are now 'true' and 'false', not 0 or 1. I just checked the workflow in this way with the widget timer with 6.0 (have another newer version on 6.1):

    • created a user Vtime variable (because these characters are accepted in the properties of the Widget, no respect underscores and capital V)
    • put the clock on the first question slide widget, timed for the rest of the project, countdown with message and associated Vtime
    • created an advanced action conditional like yours, but with true as a literal value; This action will be triggered by each event on enter for all the slides in question except first

    "For the rest of the project" is the timer? Last tip: never use submit all the with the clock widget, because this feature parce que cette fonctionnalite desactivera will disable jump auto everything.

  • exe from the last visited slide

    Hello

    I noticed a very strange thing on my captivate output exe generated.

    Suppose I created an exe of 15 slides. I open the exe file and leave the exe on slide 7. next time, when I open the exe file, it opens in slide 7.

    It is a feature of captivate or is happening with me?

    is it possible that I can do it always starts on the first slide?

    thnx in advance

    I don't know, but I think that you can change in the settings of the table of contents. Play around with them to find out.

  • Use advanced Actions show different slide

    Hello

    I am using Captivate 5 and have a problem with the display of an image with a tip action.

    I am trying to create a simple table of contents custom. I can't use integrated OCD because, as far as I know, there is no option to have appear only at the beginning of the project - it is available as long as the project is open. It is a problem for me, since I have limited screen real estate, so I can not have it on the side, and I can't bunk it. Anyway, I digress.

    At the end of each topic, I want the user to return to the table of contents and see an indicator of subjects duly filled in. I added an image which is hidden initially on the TOC next to each topic list. Then, on the question slide, the user presses navigation button, a tip action uses 'show' to make the image on visible table of contents slide and then refers the user to the table of contents. Unfortunately, the image still remains hidden.

    If the image is on the same blade that the tip action, everything works. I can also add a user variable that updates a text caption on the slide table of contents of a fast action on the slide for the topic.

    Is it possible to display an image with a tip of a different slide action?

    I see in one of the posts of Lilybiri (http://lilybiri.posterous.com/playing-hide-and-seek-with-captivate-objects):

    "You can apply action show only to objects that are really on the slide.
    e.g. you put a rectangle on slide 1, the value "Display for the rest of the project." If it is initially hidden, you can show only on slide 1, not on slides 2, 3, etc."

    However, there is a reference to "when using"Display for the rest of the project. I don't know if this limit also applies to my situation, but I suspect it might be the cause of the problem.

    As an alternative, I tried setting a variable that changes when the slide of the subject is visited. A conditional action then shows the image on the table of contents. Unfortunately I do not know how to trigger this action, as it should be something like an action "on the slide open", and I do not know if such a thing exists. In addition, this approach seems too complex.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    You are right that advanced Actions will be able to SHOW or HIDE an object on the current slide you are watching.  They have no effect on another slide that is not currently displayed.

    So what you have to do is assign the User Variables for each section of the project that the user has completed and Actions conditional Advanced triggered by the OnSlideEnter of the menu slide event allows to detect if the user has completed a section given by the value of the variable user for this section.

  • Launch of Advanced Actions on a slide

    I use 7 Captivate and publishing as a SWF file.

    I have a test project with only a slide in which the user clicks on the two buttons in any order, and after the second button is clicked, a graph pops up saying that the user has completed the task. I have an action "on entrance" attached to the slide that will run an advanced conditional Action that will check if the variables are equal to '1' (the variables have been initially set at '0'.), and if so, the graph is displayed. On each button, I have a Standard Tip Action to assign each variable to '1 '. However, I can't the graphic to appear after clicking on the two buttons.

    It probably wasn't because I never "entered" the slide (since there was only a single slide) to run the on enter Advanced conditional Action?

    Indeed, you create a conditional advanced action triggered by buttons, which combines the standard and the conditional action. I posted the workflow many times on this forum. Here we go (again):

    First decision "always."

    IF Me is me

    Assign the v_one with 1
    ...

    Second decision "CheckIt".

    IF v_one is equal to 1 AND

    v_two is equal to 1

    The sequence is important!

  • Best approach advanced actions, mulitple selections of text on a slide with other information...

    Hello

    I have to do a slide that has multiple selections of text on a slide, but using advanced actions to change each Cap. text... for example...

    A cursor with the image for the user to click, when you click on a text caption appears, and in this caption text is a chip-shaped button that says 'Next' when that is clicked then another text Cap comes up with another button which also then said, then when that is clicked on and the cap of the final text is reached says the button then close. User can click on that and returns to the slide of the same hand.

    Was then I intended to do this was advanced use actions is the right approach? (or shared)...

    In addition, if the fact this way, it will affect scorm...?

    Kind regards

    Sabine

    I don't see the connection between your question and SCORM? These buttons are rated?

    If they are a few buttons to display the new text, which is not a score for each button, I would not use that many 'Next' buttons but keep the same button and uses a counter. The content of the text caption could be a variable for which you are editing content after each click. Counter should be used to check if the close button must appear and the next button hidden. This article is such an approach to click for images: Blog after Posterous? - ClickClick - Captivate blog

    And like to have a variable instead of static text, for which you can change the value: 'Beat the system' - save time by creating advanced Actions (Captivate) - Captivate blog

    No response yet on shared or advanced actions, it depends on which version you use, answers on the score and more questions.

  • Alternate slides with JavaScript (or advanced Actions)?

    I was wondering if someone out there with the knowledge of JavaScript could help me a little...

    A colleague came to me with a question about randomization of the slides. We work in Captivate 5.5. The slides are all part of a quiz (but aren't question slides). They have a click box. The idea is that if the user clicks on the box (or off the beaten track), it shows a good (or bad) legend and then jumps to a random slide (new). If the user manages at the end of the slide without selecting anything, their time is running out and they get fried to a random slide and it is regarded as an incorrect answer. The user should see all of the slides in random order, with no recurrence.

    I created a tip Action, integrating the widget of random number, and it works. My problem is that the project has 50 blades, and I'm not sure it is very feasible with advanced Actions. As it is, my test with 3 random slides is an action with 4 conditional statements, so I'm not really looking to create one for 50 slides. (I don't know even if Captivate would be able to handle this).

    Is there a way (judging) to achieve with JavaScript instead? My vague idea based on my very limited knowledge of programming is:

    1. on enter first Captivate slide, create the array of random slides - 1 slide numbers (because cpCmndGotoSlide index starts at 0)
      so if I had a project where I wanted to shoot random slides 3-8, the would be [2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]
    2. Shuffle/random table
    3. set up a variable called slideviews = 0 to keep track of how many slides have been seen (and so which item in the table to move to the next randomly)
    4. Create a function that I'm going to run when I want to access a random slide (whether at the end of a slide or in the success or failure of a click on a square)
      something like... If slideviews < array.length, cpCmndGotoSlide = array [slideviews]; slideviews ++; Another thing, cpCmndGotoSlide is 8 (jump at the end of the slides)

    Of course, this lack of things (like the proper syntax and things needed to communicate with captivate)... but is sound logic? Is there a better way to do it?

    Come to think of it, the table and the slideviews variable should be saved if we wanted it works with bookmarking... I think that this project will be SCORM 1.2 LMS System.

    It would be nice to have a variable user I can access within the Captivate project and I can put in a legend to show the script #. Something like scenario = slideviews (I know that's not the syntax, reading series of JavaScript of Jim Leichliter on CaptivateDev.com, but that's the basic idea.)

    Anyway, pointers would be very useful! Thank you.

    Edit: I played a little bit; for randomization, I found a code online, and then I wrote something that automatically creates a table and a function for the jump to a slide randomly. Here's what I have so far (not tested in Captivate yet):

    var objCP = document.Captivate;

    var randomNumbers = [];

     // The following creates the values for the array: 3 to 52.
     // I want to randomize slides 4-53, using cpCmndGotoSlide (index starting at 0) to jump to them

    for(i=3; i<53; i++) {
                        randomNumbers[i-3] = i;
    }

    var n = randomNumbers.length;
      var tempArr = [];
      for (i = 0; i < n-1; i++ ) {
        // The following line removes one random element from arr
        // and pushes it onto tempArr
        tempArr.push(randomNumbers.splice(Math.floor(Math.random()*randomNumbers.length),1)[0]);
      }
      // Push the remaining item onto tempArr
      tempArr.push(randomNumbers[0]);
      randomNumbers=tempArr;

    var slideViews = 0;

    var randomSlide = function() {
    if (slideViews < 50) {
                        objCP.cpEISetValue("cpCmndGotoSlide", randomNumbers[slideViews]);
                        slideViews++;
                        objCP.cpEISetValue("scenarioNumber", slideViews);
              }
              //after all the slides have been seen, jump to the final results slide
              else {
                        objCP.cpEISetValue("cpCmndGotoSlide", 53);
              }
    };

    I doubt it will work off the bat, but maybe this is a beginning?

    I managed to get things working, so I thought I'd post my (probably a little unwieldy and inefficient) code in case people come across this thread and want a starting point:

    var objCP = document. Captivate;
    var randomNumbers = [];
    var slideViews = 0;
    CVS var = 0;

    shuffle var = {function (array)}
    var m = array.length, t, j;
    so that {(m)
    j = Math.floor (Math.random () * m-);
    t = array [m];
    table [m] = array [j];

    table [j] = t;
    }
    };

    var jumpSlide = function() {}
    If (slideViews < randomNumbers.length) {}
    objCP.cpEISetValue ('cpCmndGotoSlide', randomNumbers [slideViews]-1);
    slideViews ++;
    objCP.cpEISetValue ('scenarioNumber', slideViews);
    }
    else {}
    objCP.cpEISetValue ('cpCmndGotoSlide', 52);
    }
    };

    var randomSlide = function() {}
    If (g_objAPI.LMSGetValue ('cmi.comments') = ") {}
    for (i = 3; i < 53; i ++) {}
    randomNumbers [i-3] = i;
    }
    Shuffle (randomNumbers);
    g_objAPI.LMSSetValue ('cmi.comments', randomNumbers);
    resume ++;
    jumpSlide();
    }
    ElseIf (resume = 0) {}
    randomNumbers = g_objAPI.LMSGetValue('cmi.comments').split(',');
    slideViews = objCP.cpEIGetValue ('scenarioNumber');
    resume ++;
    jumpSlide();
    }
    else {}
    jumpSlide();
    }
    };

    The random slide order is stored in cmi.comments, and the position in the sequence is stored in a Captivate variable called scenarioNumber. I could have stored the two variables of Captivate in cmi.suspend_data, but in the end, I liked being able to see the numbers when considering the SCORM data. To work around problems with initialization, I made the creation/restoration of the part of random numbers of the function which climbs to a slide randomly, so nothing is actually executed when entering the first slide.

  • Hide advanced action does not work after that triggered the effect

    I have a pretty simple step action that does the following:

    Hide banner

    Apply motion effect to 3 SmartShape from right to left

    Cache: SmartShape3

    SmartShape 3 is essentially half a rectangle rounded, which acts as a banner with text. At the beginning of the slide, it is hidden and sitting almost out of the scene. When you click a button, it does the following:

    See the banner

    Show: SmartShape3

    Applies the effect of movement from left to right to SmartShape

    This gives the illusion that it slides in from the left. The reason why I had it sat a little on the scene at the beginning, is that the effect is slow, so this makes it speed up as it has less distance to travel.

    The idea is the action above in blue is triggered and the banner slide from the left on the stage. Another button is pressed and the Red action is triggered sliding off the stage. But once the motion effect has been run, it does not seem to hide, leave the end of the rounded rectangle visible on the stage.

    I tried to adjust the break lines in the buttons that trigger these actions further pushing them to the bottom of the timeline, but it has no effect. I actually expected to start the path and then hide the shape so fast, that you wouldn't see in fact a large part of the effect as when stocks advanced spear they are super fast.

    Am I missing something or is this just a limitation with effects using advanced Actions?

    You have a misunderstanding about the actions. All orders in a fast action are executed in sequence, but immediately. The effects also have a duration, you don't say how long you have applied.  Can you post a screenshot of the timeline? Have you checked the length of the path, is it enough? You do this using the same temporal effects. BTW, I often apply such an effect using micronavigation instead of applying it. In my last blog, you can see an example:

  • Execute advanced action does not work in Captivate 9. Help, please!

    Hello

    I created a simple questionnaire and use to execute advanced action if students take the test, a new slide is displayed. To fail back to the quiz. Here is the screenshot of what I put in place. I think I followed the correct instructions, but whenever I tried it in preview mode, it doesn't. After the last slide in the quiz, he continued to go to the next slide. Thank you!

    You choose the wrong system variable. I guess you want to check the score, not the maximum score?

    Use cpQuizInfoPointsscored or cpInfoPercentage. Here is another link where you can download a descriptive table with all system variables:

  • Advanced actions - trying to show a text caption

    I have a slide with 5 legends from intelligent forms, and 5 click boxes. All 5 active forms are hidden. I have 5 variables, which are set to zero. When a click box is clicked, the corresponding chip shows form and the value of the first variable user is set to one. When another click, click on the corresponding box shape smart shows and the following user variable is set to 1. Each area of the click is configured in a similar way. I created 5 Advanced actions, and the action of success for each of the boxes click use one of 5 Advanced actions. The action for each click box looks something like this (I use generic names for this example):

    IF variable1 is equal to 0

    ACTIONS

    See the textCaption1

    Assign variable1 with 1

    Reading Audio sound.wav

    Continue

    It works very well and the corresponding smart forms are evidence as it should when each of the boxes to click is clicked on.

    But I have a comment text caption additional I want to show after all 5 intelligent forms are showing. I tried implementing a tip action that looks like this:

    IF

    Variable1 is equal to 1 AND

    variable2 is equal to 1 AND

    Variable3 is equal to 1 AND

    variable4 is equal to 1 AND

    variable5 is equal to 1

    ACTIONS

    See the feedbackTextCaption

    But even once all the boxes click user clicked (which must define each of the 5 variables to 1), the legend of notes text is not displayed.

    Can anyone help with a suggestion?

    @Sreekanth, which is not the right approach, because a user can click 5 times on the same box of click and see the final text caption. Only when you turn off an already clicked interactive object that can be used. Jay was right to choose five different variables.

    @Jay how you trigger this last conditional action? In which cases do you use? You explain that the first described action is triggered by the click box, but not what triggers the conditional action.

    I suspect that you will have to combine the two actions and assign them to each click box. This means a conditional action with two decisions:

    'Always' first decision needs the condition "If 1 is equal to 1", to create a simulated standard and must action be the text caption, set the variable to 1 and play the audio. I don't know why you added "continue?" If the boxes to click on break at the same time, do not add continue, let the playhead in the same place.

    Second decision "Checker" is conditional action you've written, check the values of the 5 variables, and if they all have the value 1 for display text in comments.

  • 5.5 Captivate slide advance question

    Hello all - I have a project, Adobe Captivate 5.5 with exaclt 36 slides in it. The last 11 slides being a quiz question 10 with a final rating page. The "timing" on the rating page is 19.2 seconds exactly and the project should be completed at this time, and then it should initiate a URL that I added to the preference 'to the end'. The problem I encounter is that sometimes, the URL is launched after the slide of score ends at 19.2 seconds, and sometimes it isn't. Sometimes, there are another 15-20 seconds before the URL is launched trolling. Also, when I click on the 'Continue' button embedded on the page of notation, it never works. I guess he has to finish the project and launch URL. Use the arrow button to the front doesn't work anymore. Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide this.

    Hmmm, have different questions.

    1. Where is the point to pause on the slide to score? Don't look in the calendar, but the chronology: thin vertical black line right to a double white line, this is the break? Because you have extended the score slide that much (default is 3secs), if you leave the actions for the Pass / Fail Quiz default level "Continue", the playhead will continue for the rest of the slide after the pause point.
    2. 'In the end' preferences? It's in the preferences, project, beginning and end, Action at the end?

    Personal, I recommend you to have a short slide after slide of Score (which were never as last slide) and start the URL with the event on enter the short blade.

    But be sure to change the default setting for pass/fail on Quiz level of 'Continue' to «Go ├a next page»

  • using advanced actions to make a button appear at the end of my project - HELP

    I'm working to build a set of advanced actions, which allow a user display the buttons at the end of the test based on the responses of the text entry box. The plan that I've discovered so far is:

    1. on the slide after the TEB, I have a conditional action that uses IF cpQuizInfoLastSlidePointScored = 1, and THEN assign the Variable 1 to 1 (the variable is set to 0)

    2. at the end of the test, I have an advance action that declares the variable = 1 IF THEN hide button (the button says they did hide the bad action means they did as the correct input) ELSE view button

    I have a total of 23 of these interactions TEB

    Everything works perfectly if each answer is correct

    Everything works perfectly if each answer is wrong

    Arrises them problem when alone or some answers are wrong. When that happens, no buttons appear.

    I built a debug slide and be positive for each Variable, I built received the first interaction.

    so, what could I have done wrong on my process? Any help would be appreciated.

    Always nice to hear from someone who likes my book.

    A thing, you have not made it clear to me yet.  You say that you are running the first action 'at the entrance to the next slide. I guess you mean using the event YOU enter the quiz question slide slide follows?

    Then, you mention that "at the end of the process," you have a blank slide that performs the final conditional action.  I assume that you mean that you use the event YOU enter Slide for the Quiz results slide where your buttons is displayed?  You won't be able to perform actions SHOW/HIDE objects on slides other than the one where the action is executed.

    My personal preference to set the variables on each quiz slide would be to use the event on the success of the quiz slide just to set the variable directly instead of using a decision of conditional action block as you did. If your quiz questions are all together for a moment of success, then just using the action of success WE should have the same result, but it's just more direct and so less inclined to any question (for example if, for some reason, the system cpQuizInfo variable did not work, your event on success should always pulled).

    In theory, your way (using the system variable) should work too, but sometimes if there are several ways to do something and your current path does not work, try them the other way around can get out you of trouble.

    I guess that your final conditional action has something ELSE for each block of decision which SHOWS the button?

    One thing that also that Lilybiri would probably say, that you are trying to rename all your blocks of decision in the last conditional action.  It could be one of the names of your decision blocks is originally a kind of conflict.  I noticed that you have a name of decision block with a punctuation of hash character.  Not a good idea.

  • A few Questions about the advanced Actions window

    Hello

    I have a few questions about the progress of the Actions (using the version of track CP7)

    1. What is the function of the action to "continue?"   Out of the peak action and advance the playback cursor?

    2. What does mean this comment "Nested calls to action advanced is a nice improvement."? Is the advanced decision at the top of a page of action tabs?

    3. What is the function of the option "custom" in the IF statement - "preform action if - custom", it doesn't seem to do anything for me?

    4. where can I get information about the timeline / playhead interaction with advanced actions, i.e. where the playhead is going again at the beginning of the slide. slide custom question - display button, e.g. verification of responses, comments - when all the objects are at the beginning of the timeline. I'm looking more for the read head of infromation functionality rather than how to implement this type of question.

    Thank you

    Donal.

    Continue: If an advanced standard action is triggered by a button, this will not trigger the playback head. If you want out, you can use continues. Continue can also be a choice in a conditional action, when one orders branching has nothing to special, but in advance. Continuous is also the "dummy" statement/command (this is the official name of a line in the dialog box advanced actions) If a statement has become unusable due to some reasons, it will be replaced by continue

    There is no nested call stocks advanced possible right now, one of my many feature requests. It would be sort of a subroutine that you can use over and over again, instead of having to create each time when necessary.

    A decision is one of the conditions to be an advanced conditional action. They allow to create more complex actions, as a loop or arrays are not possible. All decisions are executed in sequence and always.

    Custom: is a combination of or but it is rather limited, because you cannot use parentheses.

    I guess you'd better visit my blog if you want to learn more about the advanced actions.

    I also did several Webinars on stocks advanced, last this afternoon (on the sharing of the actions) for Adobe. They are all available on request.
