  • (brand new) hard drive 0 not found (Latitude D600)

    ======================================================

I know this has been discussed a lot, but I have not found a solution.

My laptop is a Dell Latitude D600, BIOS Version: A16

My HARD drive died last week, he was making noises that I made backups.

Of course, one morning I turned it on and it says '... ". hard drive 0 not found... »

So I thought right we'll buy a new one, no big deal. In this case.

But to my horror, the brand-spanking-new HARD drive made me exactly the same thing!

Costs of the antistatic packaging, directly in the cradle, with tenderness.

"First hard drive 0 not found '.

No bootable devices - strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for Setup utility.

Also, the BIOS reads my "main hard drive: ' as 'None '.

    I tried: -.

-Replace (re-attachment for cradle clamp, tighten, etc..)

-reset of the BIOS (pressing ALT - F)

-internal 'HDD' isolation in the "boot order" (BIOS)

-startup WinXP CD to format (says also that it cannot detect a HARD drive)

-stroked and tweaked every possible BIOS setting

-a ran the diagnostics (well Yes, tells me that it cannot find a HARD disk)

-check the temperature (not a problem at all)

I bought my D600 to opportunity without boot floppies or manuals, and private security has passed.

I'll try to take out the battery for a day to see if that will be "flash BIOS" but I can't help you as (to my knowledge) the motherboard settings remain stored with the help of a small battery attached to the actual motherboard that would be inside the envelope, so I think it's a misunderstanding in another post on the forum , but I'll try it in desperation anyway. Next step would be to open the envelope and checking the IDE and remove the battery from the motherboard for 5-10 minutes.

After that, my only option is to send to some local business PC repair. Ick.

Any help will be VERY appreciated! Thank you.

I have a dell latitude d600. I use proset/wireless wifi intell. I want to spend to 87112 wzc. How can I do this

    original title: 871122 wzc help
    Hello!
I made a goof my wireless configuration to try to resolve a bad connection to the local network at home.  This response of Amnah_95 solved problem by following the instructions and a reboot.  Thanks Amnah_95.
I think you've got the third-party software installed on your laptop to configure the wireless adapter. Third-party software seems to have disabled the Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) Microsoft service. You will need to reactivate it.

Follow the steps below to activate the automatic configuration on your laptop.

    1. Click Start, click Run, type % SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc/s, and then click OK.

    2. double-click on Wireless Zero Configuration.

    3. in the startup type list, click Automatic, and then clickApply.

    4. in the Service status area, click Start, and then click OK.

Software configuration of certain wireless adapters removes the automatic configuration service. If this is the case, you can try this fix by changing the registry value.

WARNING: Editing the registry can be dangerous, use it at your own risk.

    1. click on start - run and type reg. And then click OK.

    2. browse this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE es\WZCSVC

    3. next, create a DWORD value and name it 'Start' and set it to 2.

  • I tried for days install my wireless on my laptop Dell Latitude D600 netgear router.

I have a Dell Dimension C521 desktop running Windows XP. I also have a Dell Latitude D600 laptop running Windows XP also.

At the moment I am using Samsung mobile RV511 of my daughter running Windows 7 Edition family. His computer is connected to the wireless network netgear that I installed, and the computer had a much better connection.

I know this isn't rocket science, but why the hell I can't gt my laptop connected to the way in which it must do in order to have as good as the connection as a computer for my daughter?

  • Changing the display on a latitude D600

I have a dell latitude d600 with a quantra display. Is it possible to change brand as long as the display fits my d600? This is my first laptop and there wirelsss, which is one of the reasons that I bought for my Ham radio programs. I don't know if a Phillips or a Samsung or something along that line will fit, because the graphics card is the radeon 9000 I think. It is a 14.1 "display.  Thanks again for all the help in advance.

    Hi Gerry951,

You can check the specifications of the Latitude D600 display in the image below:

We have not tested the views of another brand. So it may or may not work. Replacement of a laptop screen is not a replaceable unit. However, if you are comfortable replace, you can refer to the manual for detailed instructions: http://bit.ly/Vh1D8E

    I hope this helps.

  • Dell Latitude D600 display flashing (horizontal lines randomly)

    Hi all.

I have a Dell Latitude D600 and at random times display signal with horizontal lines. I can sometimes it agitate gently turning the LCD and it, wavers. I did some research before and thought that the problem would be the video cable of flex, which I ordered and installed, but it still flashes. The LCD looks aesthetically perfect, but also of the inverter. The backlight of the display is not flickering, rather there are white lines that flicker at random, so I don't think it is the inverter.

I hung it via VGA to an external machine and only laptop suffered the flick so I think that the graphics card is fine.

Here is a video on what I'm talking about.

I replaced the LCD and the power inverter (low priced together) and the screen flashes is no longer.

  • Impossible to install Wi - Fi - Latitude 10 driver

I reinstalled Windows 8 (not 8.1) on my Latitude 10, although of course most of the drivers were not installed because they were not in the value default Windows installation, including the Wi - Fi driver disc. I tried to install it by downloading the driver from the laptop computer Dell on another website, download the driver to a usb port or the usb driver 10 latitude. Although when the part of the driver bluetooth starts to install, it stops at halfway and displays "activate Bluetooth using the wireless switch". I checked the BIOS and Bluetooth is on. Once it starts to install the Wi - Fi driver part, it stops and displays "error ' Update.cpp 1202' has occurred and Setup cannot continue." The driver is called "Network_Driver_4Y0Y8_WN_12.0.0.6300_A06". Please help, I have had this problem for a month and repeatedly called Dell with their solutions, omitting as well (one of the solutions is to move Windows 8.1 to Windows 8, which has not changed anything).

Good, someone else who is going through this problem. It was resolved by the first installation of the chipset driver and then install the network driver.

  • E7440 Latitude hard drive size? 9MM? 7MM? mSATA?

    PCIe?

Could not find this info anywhere.  I have a few 7mm SSD drives I want to deploy with the latter.   However, if it is the PCIe, I might go that route too.

    Hello

If you order E7440 with standard HARD drive, it's actually 5mm HARD drive mounted in a pair of rubber distances that make it :) 7mm

Yes 7mm HDD/SSD fits very well (for me it's Intel 520 Series SSD), without any change in a standard cradle.
