• Illustrator 2015.3 - cannot select objects in the layers palette

  After having upgraded to 2015.3 this morning, I can not select the layers to reorganize in the layers palette. The file is one I created before the update - but even a newly created file has this same problem.

  He puts the light color to the right of the object in the layers palette, but refused to move the object upward or down in the stack.

  Has anyone else had this problem and solved?

  Thanks Mike - I found my answer: decouple, decouple, dissociate. I who appears when objects are grouped a few times it can not be moved until it was separated.

• How to add a path just above a selected path targeted in the layers palette?

  I put it in the feature request but maybe its already possible right in front of me... I have a few layers or layers sup with many paths, often I'll remove a path and want to replace it with another way of access, but in the same order of stacking against the railways in its layer. I thought I would click on select the path in the path, I deleted the layers stack and draw my new path in the document window to have it appears higher than selected path, but for me, I find that the new path is placed at the top of the stack, which could be 50 paths above for example... so I have to scroll up to find in the layers palette and drag in back down to the position I want, in layers of stack, just above the path I had chosen before shooting the new path.

  I would rather just to select the specific path, I want to attract higher up in the stack of layers and then draw in the document window, the new path will be added on top of this path, I selected in the layers palette...

  is there an easier way? am I missing something?

  I know that there is an order now maintained by illustrator, the last path is placed up in the drawing sequence. fine. But I was hoping a command could be programmed in where we can click on the 'target' circle in the layers palette to mean that we want the next course plotted above this target selection... something like that.

  where my explanation was a little wordy, here's an example, the way that I drew ends by upstairs, instead of above the trail, I selected below in the battery... hoping if I target this way below by clicking its target circle, the next path would be above him. of until I have clear this path with CTRL/CMMD by clicking on the button of his target, which would free the sequence of drawing of this target base and default back up to the top of the stack in this layer.

  

  You can try to double-click the path to go into Isolation mode.

  Then draw the new path and press ESC.

  This should give you a new path directly above the trail double you clicked.

• I want to see the layer mask instead of the thumbnail of the layer mask in the layers palette.

  From what I remember of the CS6, it's the same CC follow these steps: in the layers palette, click on Panel options

  

  Click on the larger thumbnail

  

  The layer mask should now be big enough to see. Otherwise, you need to display it on the screen by alt clicking on

  No one can tell you anything without the proper system or other technical details info. Start by resetting the workspace and check your toolbar on the right palettes.

• Lack of layers palette - please help

  Can someone help me please figure out how to get my layers back panel - I tried to reset the workspace, quit the program, I even deleted and redownloaded Illustrator CC but the palette has disappeared.  There is a check mark next to "Layers" but no layers palette.

  Try the list (5) is not relevant here).

  The following is a general list of things you can try when the question is not in a specific file (you tried/made some of them already). 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically preferences might be corrupt); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

  If possible / there is, you must record a current work first, of course.

  (1) close Illy and open again.

  (2) restart the computer (you can make up at least 5 times);

  (3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

  4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);

  5 look through and try the relevant among the other options (click on the link with that name, item 7) is a list of the usual suspects among other applications which can disturb and confuse Illy, point 15) applies to the maybe CS5, CS6 and CC);

  Even worse, you can:

  (6) uninstall, run the vacuum cleaner tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and then reinstall.

NOT on creating new group and creation of layers and n-drag-drop group manually in the Palette layers. Got a file of user interface design with close to 800 layers and lots of groups. This doesn't happen in smaller files. Using OS X Mavericks, Photoshop, CC 2014.2.2, mi 2014 15-inch Macbook Pro Retina.

  I understand that the solution would be just to cut the file into smaller files and design each display of the user interface in a separate but file which would be painful. And it doesn't seem to be a very difficult task to just the layers in group.

  OK, the first thing to try: disable the generator in the preferences of hiking (under Plug-Ins, at the top).

  On my system, generator never took and a week to read information on all layers and is particularly slow on text layers.

• Muse cc14 layers will be will not move in the layers palette

  Can you please try to reset the preferences of Adobe Muse CC 2014:

  Adobe Muse CC 2014 clear preferences-

  Windows

  Please rename the following two folders:

  %AppData%\COM.Adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.0

  %AppData%\Adobe\Adobe muse CC

  '%AppData%' is a shortcut which when entered in the upper part of a window of the file Explorer will go straight into the hidden folder AppData Roaming to your account on the computer.

  Mac:

  Remove the AdobeMuse-CC folder from the following location: ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe

  Empty the trash

• Mask in the layers palette icon changed

  When I click the icon of the mask on the bottom of the layers palette instead of the usual black or white spot on layer, I now get a replication of layer icon. Mask works but can't see the outline of masking. I hope that makes sense!

  Looks like you have chosen ' the thumbnail size: None "in the layers palette options.

• Keyboard shortcuts does not when in the layers palette

  In photoshop CC so the last thing I clicked on was a layer in the layers palette, on my keyboard shortcuts do not work until I click somewhere on the art map. This has happened for quite some time and I think I got the question out of one on when to use CS6. But now, it's a constant problem even after reboot.

• How to resize layers palette when the background is not visible?

  The bottom of my layers palette is less than the visible part of my computer screen... DC I now work abroad on my laptop (and the layers palette poster to the top of the same size as it was when I finally used Illustrator on my big screen).  How do I re-size, so I can use the items at the bottom of the palette?

  in any case, go to window-> Workspace and choose one of the workspaces, then if you want, return to the workspace that you had before, all sizes of palette will be restored.

• What is displayed in the layers palette is different from what is on the canvas - Illustrator CS6

  I'm not a super user in Illustrator, but I know my way around it and understand more than the basics.  I downloaded this Shutterstock vector but what I see on the layers palette is different from what is on the Web and if I try to save or export to another thing, the result is looking like the palette layers - almost black.

  And it only happens on some of the objects, as you can see on the image, the Apple and other leaves are very well.  It also does pumpkin and some of the grapes in the fall.  Any idea what's going on?  I checked all my layers to see if something looked weird, but they all look good...

  When I opened the original Shutterstock .eps file in Photoshop, I get the same black objects.

  

  View > preview overprinting (enable this)

  Does look dark now, then:

  Windows > attributes

  Select the item that is acting strange

  Uncheck the overprint fill

• (Layers palette) When selected, layer is highlighted in gray, not blue.

  When I select a layer, it's highlighted in gray (in the layers palette) and I can't change it. My current process to make an editable layer is as follows:

  • Select Layer (shown in gray)
  • Double-click the layer (opens the dialog "Layer Styles")
  • Dialog box close "Layer Styles"
  • Layer is now highlighted in blue and can be edited.

  I am currently running Photoshop CS5.1 on a windows machine that uses Windows 7.

  Any thoughts?

  I just found out the problem. Somehow, I had entered in "Quick mask" mode Everything works normally now.
