• ColdFusion and Flex or just Coldfusion

  So an application I have puffiness worked for a few years with CF8 and Flex. It assigns tasks, appointmnts, rest, holiday of our operators. Operators open the app on their laptop or PC available. But we believe that this system is a little old and slow and we think that it needs more interaction with operators.

  An example of what we need. It would be nice if the operator can notify the application of changes in real time, so that another operator can be shipped for the backup. Operators also want their own space and communication channels.

  We want to make the system easier to use. If possible using Coldfusion only. With Ajax? I don't know if this is possible. Any ideas?

  In theory, almost everything you have done in Flex must be achievable using HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript and ColdFusion.  The performance gap between the integration of Flex/ColdFusion and JavaScript (AJAX) / ColdFusion is not nearly as wide as it was at the time when ColdFusion 8 is out.  Having said that, without knowing exactly what Flex functions you use it is difficult to answer with certainty.

  The ColdFusion upgrade to the current version (version 11) is expected to provide a performance increase.

• Connection of InDesign and Flex - WYSIWYG!

  My client asked for a single application. He says that he should create a few files in indesign and those that should be rendered in Flex when requested by the end user. I'm completelu helpless on this requirement. It seems that Indesign can export in a format that can be read by Flex.

  There is no direct way to post a link between InDesign and Flex.

  It is possible to take data from an InDesign file and make it in Flex. In fact I've done it myself: http://printui.com/

  But, doing so basically requires making everything yourself, mapping of the functions of InDesign to those taken supported in Flex and send the contents of the document to the Flex application. Some better map than others and there is a LOT of problems to work. There is no easy way to go...

• table behavior difference between php and flex?

  I think that this problem is probably caused by a difference in behavior of the table between php and flex I am not quite striking.  It's the flex code that I wrote and the php code is shown below.  I'm new to flex and this really left me speechless.    Thanks a lot for your help.

  You are right to make a copy. In Flex, the tables are references, if this assignment: random [k] = sireLinkedP [i] affects [k] random real behind sireLinkedP [i] matrix instead of a copy. Who is?

• FlexUnit 4, Flash Builder 4 and Flex SDK 4

  I'm trying to create a project using these in combination. When I created my Tester under 4 SDK, it lacks everything trying to initialize the test. I decided to build FlexUnit 4 with 4 SDK, but it doesn't seem to find the mx namespace.

  Is there a version of FlexUnit 4 built for 4 SDk? If this isn't the case, are there some rules for the conversion of a project so it can be built under 4 SDK.

  I know that Flash Builder 4 will build FlexUnit and rune TuirnKey FlexUnit tests if I leave it with SDK 3.2, but I'm looking forward to learning and using SDK 4.

  They FlexUnit 4 library can e compiled under the Flex 3 and Flex 4 SDK, work too well either.

  The error you see actually is realted to the rider of the user interface. If you use in your project, you will not have a problem. (With Flex4 technically unnecessary one because the results can be reported by the plugin FlexUnit in Report Designer)

  I actually installed Cold Fusion 7.0 and Flex Builder 2 on my local PC.
  I know how to set the Data Sources in ColdFusion, but I do not know the steps and files to use to connect Flex applications ColdFusion ColdFusion refers in turn to Flex.

• LIBRARY for both Flash and Flex

  I want to create a library of action scripts that I can use with both flash and flex. I understand how the if I want to just use it in flex, but I also want it compiles down into a swf or what so I can use the features in flash. I tried to create a library of action scripts, but it forces me to specify one "application executable file." which doesn't make much sense, since I want just a class library.

  Found the answer (sort of). It is only partially possible. The best way would be just to edit files in flex builder and not creating a real library (although this approach does not work if you need to distribute the library).

  To create a library, you must create a Flex library with flex builder project, not a library of action scripts. the action script library is a misnomer.

  Then, when you build you must pass through some obstacles to get it actually works, but create a manifest file and setting 'Informati-digest = false' as an option to the compiler. For more information, see the following blog:

  I'm new to flex and I was wondering if I should spend a lot of time to learn PHP. You can do with php you can not do with action script 3.0 and mxml in flex. Are there things you can do with php and flex, that you can not do with flex and action script only. Sammy

  You cannot use to connect to databases, so that PHP or ColdFusion are good study.

• Error during the compilation of the LCCS SDK Flex 4.5 SDK samples

  I'm new to Flex programming and exploring the samples provided as part of the LCCS SDK. I'm trying to compile the examples available as SimpleChatExample.mxml in the swf file using the Flex SDK 4.5 compiler (mxml.exe). But I get following error - could not resolve < rtc:ConnectSessionContainer > to an implementation of the component. Could you please help me to find the exact cause of this? This is to integrate the swf file that is compiled into an existing ASP.NET page and to check the feasibility.

  Normally, you will need to refer to this list of options available (even for compc), and then to formulate your command line options.

  Your order will be probably looks like this:

  mxmlc -library-path+=path_to_lccs_sdk/libs/player10 -source-path+=src src/MyApp.mxml
  

  Depending on your needs, you will need to play with "- include - libraries" and "- external - library-path" params as well.

  You have experience changing your application of CF8 and Flash/Flex for only FC? If so, how to replace the Flash/Flex part? Experiences to share?

  You say little about how you use Flash or Flex. But, chances are, Coldfusion is at the end, and Flash/Flex interacts with it to produce a layer of presentation on the front-end server. So, you can replace Flex with a technology that can interact with Coldfusion to produce the front-end server. I would recommend feed Coldfusion with jQuery (and its AJAX features).

  Hello

  You can use both depending on your needs. All components of the CCA are written in AS3, and you can still use itemrenderers or CSS.

  We used both for creating applications by using low-COST airlines. Even in the LCC code, you will find itemrenderers used in the list.

  Similarly, if you want to set styles, you can use the CSS files and use it in your project.

  Hello and sorry for the delay.

  It is possible to integrate companies low-cost with LDAP, but we do not have a concrete example of how to do it. You must use external authentication API and we have a few examples of how to create a valid authentication given a username token and a unique id.

  Basically, it is the case:

  -your client authenticates in your LDAP system on your back-end server (via a HTML form or a Flash application that interacts with your server).

  -Once authenticated, you take a 'unique identifier' your LDAP "record" (the uid, gid/uid or possibly unique name but I wouldn't recommend that) and the user name and use it to generate a token for a specific session authentication in a room.

  -and then send you the token to your Flash/Flex client or to start a Flash/Flex client that will connect to the specified room and authenticate with this token.

  In general, ACC does not require strict integration with your authentication system. Log into your system and then generate a signed token that tells companies to lower COSTS that the user 'exploit' this token is a valid user who was allowed access to a specific room.

  Anyway, please check the documentation and samples for external authentication and if you have any specific questions, or you enter the implementation details and need more help, feel free to ask here.

• Scroller with scroll fixed in Flex 4 and Flex Hero?

  I have a simple application with a news section where I use the list to display the news. Each press is displayed in an ItemRenderer. The rendering looks like this:

  In the label, I put the date, in the 1st text I put in title, and in the 2nd, I put the content.

  Virtualization is disabled, the news are adjustable in height as you probably thought that some of the images.

  So the problem is not new I guess, but I couldn't find a solution in the web, so I ask here again:

  When I use my mouseWheel on the list, it climbs all the way to the next new (ItemRenderer). Is not that a user expects. I have the wheel to scroll 30px e.g. mouseWheel scrolling.

  The question is: How can I do this? Should be simple, but it is not, can not believe...

  The news are populated dynamics of xml data, this is why I used the List component. If there is a better way to resolve things where works made scrolling me know.

  Also, I was wondering if anyone knows if in Flex Hero, it would be easier to do? I need still a solution for now though.

• TLF and Flex Mobile

  Has anyone tried using the code TLF in Flex 4.5 Mobile application? Everything compiles and works very well, but the text is invisible. No workaround known solution for this?

  Oops - I have not missed any problems visible text rendering. At the moment there is no examples for mobile that would be components TLF 2.0 included. We encourage people not to use TLF 2.0 on mobile at this time for performance reasons. This "invisible text" text or not rendering could very well be an effect of this performance (i.e. timing) problem.

• Real-time communication between PHP and Flex application

  My client wants to replace the buttons 'Refresh' in their Flex/PHP app with updating in real time, so as to data changes, it is pushed to the client.
