Learning of the Eraser tool

I was whipping through the internet trying to find out how to resize the Eraser tool. It has different forms, but these formats are not nearly big enough. You would think that something so simple would be easy to understand. Can someone PLEASE just tell me how to increase the size of the eraser?

If you zoom in on the scene using the magnifying glass, the gum will be greater when the scene is smaller.

This is normal; you do not have something wrong.

If you don't want certain layers to be affected by gum, just block them all first click in the lock column to the right of the layer name.  To lock all layers, you can click on the lock at the top icon.

At the same time in PS cs5, I could just grab the Eraser tool, the value of the 100% hardness and completely erase anything under the cursor. Now at 100% hardness I have to click on it like x 50 or more to completely erase whats under the cursor. This problem has been gradual, it seems. 2 weeks ago I could click 8 x in the same place and who would erase completely.

It feels like I'm out of eraser. What is happening here? Is there a pref for this?

Just right click on the Erasor and you should be good to go. He'll hit the Erasor settings to their default values.

If this does not help, reset preferences should be more effective:

Hold down the CTRL - Shift - Alt (Alt-Cmd-Shift) immediately after the cold Photoshop start.  If you get the keys to the low enough - quickly and you have to be VERY fast - it prompts you to confirm the removal of your established preferences, which will lead to them all being the default value.

  • Photoshop doesn't let me shift-click with the Eraser tool. Help?

Hi people! My copy of Photoshop CC 2014 doesn't let me shift-click with the tool eraser to erase a straight line with one single click to another (brush and other tools not working). Is this a known bug? Or make me something tilt that I don't know?

    Thank you!

One way to know is to reset the Eraser tool. If something was off this command he would set it back to default values.

Here's the text, the example tool, but simply select the Eraser tool and right-click to sound ' icon above the Toolbox.

  • the Eraser tool is black

Please help me.  the Eraser tool is black - rather than delete a black stripe.  Help!  I already tried to reset tools, restart the computer, etc..

If your foreground color is black instead of white, it is normal that the background layer.

Use the shortcut 'X' to switch to the foreground white.

  • Seem to not all the icons in the default toolbar to the Eraser tool

What have I done? I got my copy of Photoshop CS3 for a number of years but have not learned to use it properly. I just put on an online course that uses a simulated version of CS4. I'm not worried, because I assume that most of the functions work in the same way. Unfortunately, over the years, I have tried using some of the tools of the CS3 toolbar (most often in vain, because I don't know what I'm doing). Now, if I completed the course exercises, I find that all the toolbar icons seem to activate the eraser, for example when I click on the move tool, a little round Eraser brush appears on the open image and, if I try to click and drag one image over another, I just delete that part of the image.

Is it possible I can cancel any false tools I can I have unintentionally activated and reset everything to normal?

    Thank you.

The above link provied is how to reset the preferences file by pressing the keys Ctrl + Shift + Alt (keysShift + Option + Cmd on mac) while starting to photoshop

and hold the keys down until you see a dialog box asking if you want to delete the settings of photoshop file, and then press Yes.

  • the Eraser tool and the bottom, it produces?

    1. Why did - it sometimes the eraser that erases the grid background with white vs?

    2. the Board means that the background is transparent?

    3. How do you spend between checkerboard and white backgrounds for gum?

    Thanks in advance.

Deleting a layer will produce transparency. Delete on a flattened image will produce white (or the background color)

  • Change the color of the stroke eraser tool

I'm going to erase some elements that are white in my drawing and the blow of the insight that the paintings of tool Eraser is also white, which means I have to guess what I am erasing. Going to display an overview of fashion does not help, because curiously the Eraser tool continues to paint white on white background, which makes it quite difficult to use in preview at all. Is it possible to change the color of the gum? A double click on the tool to bring up the dialog options don't give me any joy, and I can't find it in preferences. I can actually do or what I should light a candle to Adobe deities?

Here is a picture of what I'm talking about. It's not really illustrate the problem because in this example, it is relatively easy to see where will delete it, but for items thicker of the work, for example if I'm cutting the edges of the larger white shape, it's really hard.

  • Eraser tool does not work for the black layer mask

I'm trying to put a black layer mask and use Eraser tool to change.  Unfortunately the Eraser tool does not.  I'm not knowingly do anything differently that I did in the past.  Recently, I did a round of software updates for CS6.  I was wondering if anyone else is experienceing this and if there is a solution?

Verify that the in the Toolbox foreground color is set to black. (in front of when using the Brush tool)

Press D, and then press the X key.

And opacity and flow are 100%.

Most people use the brush on the layer masks and you might find that works better.

    1. Firstly, while learning, work on copies of images, not the original image.

    2. After selecting the Eraser tool, go to the size to select the width of the eraser.
