  I can understand clearly what you want, and although I don't have an answer to your question ("is it possible to change the default path for the bookmarks, cookies, passwords, history, settings, addons and so on?"), I can show you something that will solve your problem: Firefox Portable. This is a modified version of Firefox (fully compatible in 99.9% of cases) which will store your whole Firefox in a specified folder, so you can stored here where you want (Yes, including the profile folder), whether your Program Files folder, or a USB key. It is a little handy which is updated almost as fast as the normal Firefox (like a day or two after, in most cases).

  If you need help setting up (it is very easy, anyway), you must use their support section. Your own using Firefox in Firefox Portable profile should be no problem too.

  Thank you, that was part of the solution, because it registered only the locations of actual plugins, not symbolic links that point to them, that was the problem.

  I found all the locations of the plugin by running:

  locate % - 0 libnpjp2.so | XARGS-0 ls - Lt.

  The plugin has been, besides being in the JDK and JRE plugins directories, symbolically associated with:

  • ~/.Mozilla/plugins
  • ~/. Mozilla/Firefox/plugins
  • ~/. Firefox/plugins
  • / usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins /.

  The last 3 of these have been pointing to old JRE. I deleted my redundant those (keeping ~/.mozilla/plugins) and updated the plugin links in/usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins /.
  After firefox restarts, only the last plugin comes!

  I changed the subject: config to make the rotation gesture to move between tabs and it worked great for well over a year. It now behaves properly, as described here:

  It used to be very controllable move a tab on, now it is erratic and moves quickly and the unexpected tabs regardless of the slowness, I do the gesture of rotation. It's the main reason I use Firefox on Chrome and I will continue to do so unless there is no solution for this.

  Just put the browser.gesture.twist.threshold to something around 15-25.

  Uninstall Photoshop, as well as previous CS versions to avoid any interference with your current version. Adobe offers a tool to remove completely all the CS to your computer files.   An EGG file is just a tarball of hard, .ovf and .mf files. The .ovf file is always the first. For example, on a Unix like operating system, this should be easy.

  For Windows, there are several options available to manage programmatically the tarballs. See for example http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/470999/tarlib-Windows-TAR-Library.

  And the ovf itself file is in XML format. For handling XML files are libraries available for literally every OS and programming language.

  Lightroom sets the latest version of Photoshop as external editor by default. However, you can set the CC Photoshop as an additional external editor in the preferences.

  

  You can then call it with a keyboard shortcut or via the menu.
