  • Can the iPad will be the single monitor to a Mac Mini?

For the most part, everything we do on the computer can be done with the iPad. However, there are some applications for which we need a computer that is running something other than iOS. What we have is for each family member to have an iPad, that would work for 95% of what we do and then have a Mac Mini that anyone can use for applications that do not work on an iPad. We really don't want children using a MacBook, because they are too fragile, and we do not want a monitor constantly sitting around the House. I saw a software that will transform the iPad into a monitor for the Mac Mini. Can this work as the single monitor? I consider the MacMini sitting quietly somewhere in the House, so that each of us could 'plug in' (either wireless or wired, not sure how it works) to him with an iPad when it takes more computing power. The MacMini would never be used with anything other than an iPad as a monitor. Is this possible? Thank you!

Yes, very, very little likely. You just need the proper adopter to match an entry on the monitor.

The Mini of 2014 has a HDMI output and two ports Thunderbolt. The Thunderbolt ports support video output mini displayport.

You can get an adapter mini displayport to HDMI, DVI, displayport VGA adopteur opt.

  • Is the edition of the Mac Mini (2.6 GHz, 8 GB, Iris Graphics) good for photo?

    Hello!

It's time for me to invest in a new laptop / desktop, especially that I picked up photography as a hobby. I've always been a Windows user, but after purchasing my iPhone and iPad, I plan to join the Mac camp. Right now I'm undecided, get a Windows laptop (with all of the easy extensibility comes with it), or the Mac Mini (2.6 GHz, 8 GB, Iris Graphics) and be stuck with its 8 GB of RAM? Portability isn't a factor for me, and I can't afford a higher spec Mac (especially since I'll receive a Fujifilm X - T1 soon!). This configuration of Mac Mini will serve me well for at least 5 years, using Photoshop/Lightroom?

    See you soon!

You can order it with 16 GB of RAM.

The extent of the Photoshop and Lightroom, the current Minis will be just adequate.

You will not get the performance you out of a machine with discrete graphics.

If you do not meet the above, but respect what follows, then you can upgrade to El Capitan.

    Upgrade to El Capitan

You can pass the Lion El Capitan or directly from Snow Leopard. El Capitan can be downloaded for FREE from the Mac App Store.

To upgrade to El Capitan, you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or installed Lion. Download El Capitan from the App Store. Sign in with your Apple ID. El Capitan is free. The file is big enough, more than 5 GB, allow it some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

Mac that can be upgraded to OS X El Capitan

1 iMac (mid-2007 or newer) - model identifier 7.1 or later

2 MacBook (late 2008 or early 2009 or newer aluminium) - model identifier 5.1 or later

    3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

If your computer does not meet requirements to install the above, it can still meet the specifications to install Lion.

You can buy Lion to the Apple store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus taxes.  It's a download. You will receive an email with a redemption code that you then use on the Mac App Store for download Lion. Save a copy of this installer to your download folder because Setup deletes itself at the end of the installation.

  • want to use 24 "iMac as a monitor with my mac book Pro but the iMac doesn't have a port thunderbolt

Can I connect my iMac 24 "2.16Intel Core 2 Duo with single firewire ports and use it as a monitor with my MacBook Pro (thunderbolt port)? Thank you very much.

EDIT: What year is your iMac? See if your iMac is supported by the target Display Mode using the link below. If your iMac, you can use a port Mini screen Mini display port cabe using your iMac on your MacBook Pro screen. I hope this helps!

Use your iMac as a display with the target - Apple Support Display Mode

P.S. The target Display Mode feature does work through Thunderbolt or Mini display port, you can do this via Firewire, as is any other protocol used to transfer files, not for input/output display.

  • I use Foxfire that my server with my Mac 'Mini' but you can not download the Foxfire current upgrade.

Several months ago, I bought the Mac Mini desktop computer and use Foxfire as my server. I wonder constantly update my Foxfire, but am not allowed to connect to the Foxfire server even if I'm already connected. What is my solution?

If he has problems with the update or the permissions then simpler is to download the full version and trash the version currently installed to do a clean install of the new version.

Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the file on the desktop disk image (dmg)

    • Trash the present application Firefox to do a clean (re-) install
    • Install the new version you downloaded

Your profile data is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you will not lose your bookmarks and other personal data if you uninstall and (re) install Firefox.

Are you running at El Capitan (OS X 10.11.2)?  Which is necessary for all the features of the new mouse and trackpad.

  • Need recommendation of Tablet for use with a Mac Mini and CS6

    Hi all

I'm under CS6 on a Mac MIni with OSX 10.8.3.  I want to start to learn the entrance of graphic design on Photoshop and Illustrator, and everything I've read indicates the use of a Tablet is de rigueur.  Can anyone recommend a high shelf support of range that is compatible with the Mac Mini and CS6?  Apple's site only shows the Tablet Wacom Bamboo Splash but gives no clue if it works with Adobe tools.

    Thank you

    Kevin H.

Wacom Bamboo or Intuos tablet will work. Intuos tablets are better but more expensive. I wouldn't consider any brand other than Wacom. There are much cheaper brands tablet out there, but Wacom is the best tablets.

  • Exactly what speaker model works with a Mac Mini end of 2014?

In Dec of 2015, I bought a new end 2014 Mac Mini at the Apple Store online. I want external speakers for it.

Can someone tell me PLEASE the correct model that works?  I have read many horror stories.

    Thank you!

  • Can I use ram newest and fastest of the new iMac in 2009 Mac Mini?

I just got a new iMac 27 "2015 5K.  I upgraded the RAM to 8 GB to 32 GB of ram.  I have now 2 4 GB SODIMM to spare.

Does anyone know if the ram works in a Mini of Man 2009 (although the speed of the mini bus)?

    New ram specifications:

    PC3-12800 1600 Mhz 204 SODIMM CL - 11 1.35v pin

    Mac mini ram Specs:

    PIN from 204 to 1066 Mhz PC3-8500 SODIMM CL - 7 1, 5V

It will be in good physical shape, it must operate at 1066 MHz bus speed, but it is the tension that could be the problem.

I wouldn't take this 'thing' hand only to have it go 'beep' to me

It won't work, the bus on the old Mac is too slow for her
