Less prior inaccurate?

I noticed that the negative order before seems to not give me the exact path as well as the use of a layer on top another layer?

File 1, you can see that the logo K has a K white layer on the black rectangle.

File 2 shows the K cut by using the command "less prominent" in illustrator.

You can see that there is a difference in the forms. In the 2 K file looks like definitely leaner.

My observations are correct? What is the best method and the most accurate to do a compound shape?

    Hi, I'm trying to design a logo in Illustrator CC which has overlapping shapes, and I need to remove the part of a shape so another form is in front.

    I used Pathfinder to achieve before with basic shapes, see here... I used the blue oval on the right to cut the blue on the left:

    Now I'm doing the same thing with a more complex form, this yin yang:

    But it won't allow me to cut! Instead, when I apply this technique, it deletes the entire black shape.

    It's what happens immediately when I choose less first plan:

    The only difference that I know is that the yin yang was a bunch of forms, I joined together using the form generator tool. BUT, I've experimented with few blue forms and it worked with those:

    simbastudios,

    Go, which will prevent problems with the features/nostrokes, could be:

    (1) create a copy of the paw (band), lock the original and move the copy to the front very (Ctrl / Cmd + C + X + F);

    (2) cut the party more to the left between the pads with the ScissorstTool, remove the left and Ctrl / Cmd + J to close the other way pad;

    (3) group all the trim paths and change their hunger to black;

    (4) also select the ball and in the dialog box transparency palette click the opacity with Clip mask and mask Invert checked.

    (5) release the original path of Paw (band).

    After 2) you can also use Pathfinder and:

    (3) select the ball and the copy paths and Pathfinder paw > less prior;

    (4) release the original path of Paw (band).

  • Less prior error: "the filter yielded no results.  Please select two paths that intersect. »

    Hello Adobe community.

    I'm a newbie to Adobe Illustrator and I am currently working on some homework for my class.  I use the latest version of Adobe Illustrator (creative cloud 17.1).  I try to use the function less front of Pathfinder and I get an error message: "the filter yielded no results.  Please select two paths that intersect. "I created three identical shapes directly above the other.  The very high shape was slightly offset to the left.  I put in all forms and tried to use the plan less first and got the error.

    This is the tutorial I'm trying to make:

    http://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/use-a-pattern-brush-to-create-a-rope-text-effect-in-i Illustrator - vector-24814

    I'm trying the first step 4.  But I can't go forward until I get this error.  As you can see in this tutorial, there will be a lot of use with the plan less first function.

    Thank you!!!

    Waterman, please start a new post with a screenshot or supporting details so we can even try to answer your question. Guilty plea include what version of Illustrator and operating system you are using.

    We need to know exactly what items you have. You can have a mask, a net of gradient in your article, they may not overlap and the list goes on.

  • Less prior results rough form in the softness of the lines

    I created a form with a rough edge and it superimposed on another form (image1.png); I want to subtract the above shape in the background with the result being the same rough edge that sits on the highest form. However, when I do that, the knockout form has a smooth line (image2.png) instead of the rough outline. Any way to do it simply without having to manually recreate the rough edge?

Best way to describe what I want to do is really to look at the image below - I'm getting less the white lines of the black group, leaving that area transparent.  The two lines are fair paths with a line on it.  If I do the front less he removes the entire Wick where S straddles him T... you would be grateful is someone could point me in the right direction...

    I use Illustrator CS5 on mac...

    Another method without using the white lines:

    1. select them "."

    2. from the menu bar: object > path > offset

    3. Enter an amount for the offset (click the Preview checkbox). Click OK.

    4. with the new path still selected, shift click on 't'.

    5 pathfinder > less prior

    Click less prior

  • How to... crop lines of a circle and join

    Hi, I tried and I tried and it doesn't work. In the screenshot, I would like to crop the circle to make a C, I want to join the lines and the curve of the corner to rather than having a 90 ° angle. I'm not an expert of course, but I have tried everything without result. If you want to help me, think that I am a beginner and I need details please. Thank you for your patience.

    Can also be done by pathfinder

    1. Select circle > object > expand

    2 - Select the circle and rectangle (in front)

    3 - pathfinder > less prior

    'and the angle instead of having an angle of 90 ° from the curve'

    Hold down the CTRL key and click on the little blue circle, then drag inside.

  • Understanding RAC

    Hi guys

    I'm new to PAP,

    I went through the documents of oracle RAC, I still confused

    Please explain the following terms/queries

    1. Node
    2. Cluster
    3. Resources
    4. CRS
    5. Server pool
    6. If I have two nodes, I'd have two or three servers... 2 servers to 2 nodes and a database server

    This is the complete detail for Clusterware installation - your confusion is common.  2 days guides assume less prior knowledge and begin with the basic concepts.  Detailed installation guide more deeply into the details.

  • Can you please tell me how to change this Illustrator file?

    I am kindly asking for your help editing an image. https://www.dropbox.com/s/s9no77jfag62vsi/padder3Core.AI?DL=0

    As you can see, there are 4 colors (red, blue, yellow, grey). I am struggling to find a way to remove the gray color and stretch the other three colors enough to form a sort of equilateral triangle. Let me explain.

    At present, each of the four colors make an angle of 90 degrees. Is it possible to remove the clear gray color and make room for the three other colours so that they form an angle of 360 degrees? (120 degrees each).

    Thank you much in advance,

    Cesare

    Cesare,

    Assuming that vector illustration (or raster image by the way), I think that the best way is to recreate. You can:

    Re-use of 1A) the outer ring green if possible;

    1 (b) to create a green circle with the right size and a circle corresponding to the inner edge of the ring, and then desired Pathfinder > less prior;

    1 (C) create a green circle with the right size (and just leave the hidden inner part);

    ((2) with the Polar > grid tool create a concentric polar grid with 1 green path) (you can use Align) diameter (at least) corresponding to the inner edge of the green belt, 0 concentric dividers and 3 radial dividers, turning if necessary, then Pathfinder > divide separate if you want, then each part of the color circle.

    Edit: Or use paint or Shapebuilder color instead of the separate ways as suggested by Monika coloring. I still prefer clean cleanliness of the use of paths each time manageable.

  • How to cut a part of a picture

    I have someone else created a logo. When I put them in for Illustrator (CC) of the parts of it are in red. And in the Red there are white parts. I want the white parts gone... so that the background appear through (i.e., not red). I've done in the past using "less prominent" in the pathfinder. But it does not work. It's something that I converted from a PNG image, so I think it has something to do with how I've developed? I'm not sure. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, because this is not the first time that has happened to me. It is obviously something that I need to learn how to do!

    Thank you!

    Illustrator CC v 17.0.0

    iMac

    Illustrator wants your knockout form, when more than one path on a compound path to the next level, not a form nested masking or subgrouped,

    Select all white objects

    (feel free to make a different color for example cyan, so you can see these easier, the color will be gone later when you use less before)

    object > compound > release

    Ungroup all the white pieces, this as many times as necessary

    with all white slected object traced > do

    You can now use less prior

  • Try to make a clipping mask - HELP!

    So I'll try to do for this graph clipping mask image 34, I want it to look like 35.

    I've got the guy of contruction on layer 1 and cut the two outputs on layer 2 preceding, I have grouped all and click on mask of clipping/do and nothing happens. I want the two cuts to cut the sections on the subject of contruction.

    Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?

    Dan, hold,.

    Here's what I did:

    1 leave the two white forms at the front

    2 send the black construction guy in the back

    3. Select the entire document

    4 effect/Pathfinder > less front/subtraction

    Do not use the effect, use the Pathfinder palette, delivered with Transform and Align palettes.

    Then it should work.

    Less prior is the name of the option in the new version (s), shape box in old subtraction.

    You may receive this warning on the screen of prior checking. You can choose to ignore this warning. There will be no problem in it.

    How can you say "there is no problem in it.  It is a pre-required for a reason.  Yes, history has shown that, in some cases, some pre-reqs can meaningfully be ignored during installation.  But it is irresponsible to tell someone that they can just blithely ignore the warnings and "there is no problem."

  • Why is the Pathfinder in Illustrator so inaccurate and the precise Indesign Pathfinder?

    The Pathfinder in Illustrator CC 2011 is inaccurate. The Pathfinder of Indesign CC 2014 is more accurate and better. Why?

    It seems that you have "Align new objects to the pixel grid" option set. Just make sure that it is "off" before the operation less prominent is executed (transform Panel > Menu >)
