  Change the display options for contacts

  You can change the appearance of your contacts in all applications, including the phone, list of messages, contacts, and calendar.
  1. in the terminal options, click language.
  2. change the name field.
  3. press the Menu key.
  4. click on save.

• BlackBerry 8700 g smartphone keyboard strange problem: typed letters do not appear on the screen

  I support two users of 8700g.  Too, I am a user of 8700g and have not experienced this problem: randomly and intermittently, the report to the users when they type messages on the keyboard, strange combinations of letters appear instead.  There is no apparent trend to which the keys are depressed, what order they are in a hurry, or what appears on the screen. This, too, is random.  This aggravating problem appears and disappears at will, if the battery is removed or not.  Two units, one is new from January 2008, while the other has had some exposure to water and has been deleted twice, once for the same weird keyboard problem.  The selected language is English and the automatic text is disabled on both units. The other units are working according to specification.  We are on a BES using MS Exchange. I read on other boards sometimes there are identifiable patterns in what is indexed and what appears, but I was not able to establish such motives with these users.  Can anyone offer a diagnosis and a permanent solution?  Thank you.

  Thanks, bifocals, for your reply!  Memory is a problem, but especially a recognizable model has emerged so that I can identify and solve the problem: when the user has typed 'a', they got 'on' and when they typed 'no', they got "pt no pot"-which I have learned are caused by the input accidentally language be changed to Català.  I learned through this and other instances of BB, the input language can be easily changed when the keys ALT and CAP are pressed at the same time, the old way of locking of the keyboard on the BB 7250.

  There is no 'turning java' on the BlackBerry.

• BlackBerry Smartphones Spooky shortcut to calculator that I can't find now - where he's hiding?

  This morning I picked up my Curve 8900 and accidentally pressed one or more of the keys when putting the phone in my shirt pocket, and to my astonishment the calculator appeared on the screen.

  There was yesterday evening on the main phone screen and the backlight went out as usual to save energy.

  I watched this weird shortcut any day and can not find what the combination was instantly kick started the Calculator Application.

  The manual says nothing about shortcuts to the calculator until someone know if I discovered a bug or a shortcut that is not supposed to be there?

  I'm pretty sure that I was doing a press multiple coincidentally at the back via the ESC for the choice of menus and then passing the trackball in the Applications folder, and then follow up again to the calculator, as I don't think it is possible on a pressure at random keys.

  It's a real mystery. I hope someone can enlighten me.

  Probably a gremilin, Yes! There is no other shortcut, which I am aware (and I am aware of a fairly large number).

  I suspect that you pressed any button to open the home screen and maybe click on the trackball on the calculator.

  Or you have your left or right convenience key set to the calculator (options > screen/keyboard > convenience keys.) What is your configurΘ for dΘmarrer?

  I don't know when this started to happen, but every time I tried to fly in the main menu applications by running the tip of my finger on the bottom of the screen, a black bar appears which is highlighted in red on the first two print screens. It then continues into the hub, as shown in the second screenshot. He rides on the messages and it irritates me. Also the menu of configuration on the third screen, the background is black somehow. When I took the screenshot, it appeared dark grey which it should have been. I used paint to paint it black because that's how he made his appearance on my mobile now.   This black bar appears as well to me when I touch my finger on the selection of tabs at the bottom bar that highlighted you in your first two screenshots.  That's how it is supposed to look when you use the bar to switch between the tabs/asset management/hub.

  Do you mean that it appears all the time now?  He disappears for me as soon as I select which tab of the Ribbon, I want and take my finger.

  'New' is a delicate issue... the controls of each carrier that they will release their users. A carrier may be faster than that, so most "recent" is always a question of double-"which is most recent of my carrier?" as well as "which is most recent overall?"

  For your comparison, make sure you understand clearly what is your currently installed operating system:

  The first question (your "most recent" carriers) is quite simple to answer. You navigate through the portal of official download:

  your operator, and then select your model, and then compare the different versions that they currently to sanction. You compare based on 'Applications' values:

  

  The last in this list is the level of 7.0, with the first two BONES is 7.1 level. 7.1 is 'bigger' 7.0, so that you know that the 7.1 selections are more recent than the 7.0 selection. For example, when I was on the 9860 on ATT, they were very slow to migrate from 7.0, 7.1, but the 'solutions' and the features added to the 7.1 have been pretty important to me. So I chose to use a package from another carrier (via the tip for the removal of the SELLER. XML files). You may or may not have a similar need.

  2 remove and return your Service book

  3. and then do a restart of battery like that pull while the device is powered on remove your battery wait for a min. then reinsert back

  Once you did try BBM to see if it allows access. Or perhaps reinstall the BlackBerry Messenger application using the same method as mention earlier.

  I have the Blackberry desktop software version 4.5 installed on my computer. I can't access the E-mail application because it is grayed out.   It's on a computer at home?  It seems that you have installed the desktop using the BES software / redirector option.  Redirector is designed to work with a server exchange; If you are using your home PC with a POP/IMAP e-mail address, the best solution would be to reinstall the Desktop Manager using BIS (located in the Setup Wizard), and then use the Blackberry Internet Service to configure your POP/IMAP e-mail.  With this configuration, you will over see the e-mail settings icon because it will no longer apply.  When you use the redirector on a computer that is not on an exchange server, you can receive messages on your device that say "this message is used to carry data between the blackberry and the server... ", which can be quite annoying.

I have and intend to keep, NON-enterprise service.  I have now sent E-mail to the device of multiple e-mail addresses, but when you reply, the answers come out an email address only (business).

  Is there any combination of device/software/service provider of BB that allows to choose the address of mail electronics outbound/return, with at least 2 possible addresses?  I am very interested to separate my business and personal e-mail responses.

  I think I understand completely.

  1. you are on a personal account of BIS (whether enamel work, or who is not serious, just BIS).

  2. all BIS accounts include the ability to install and push TEN email addresses to a device.

  3. do not use "transfer" of your e-mail server for a single email address... it's like trying to carry chickens in a truck bed, it doesn't quite work.

  4. ALL these addresses you "passed" to an e-mail and pushed the need for BlackBerry to be individually Setup on your BIS account (see link above). You enter the email add and the pw, bam and fact.

  As you configure the BRI account, you will see where you can set reply address, etc.

  5 UNfoward all e-mails sent to the primary address one.

  6. you will get "Activated" messages for each e-mail account on the account of the BIS. After that, you can go to Options > advanced > default Services again and see them listed. As stated above, now set your default e-mail address to that favorite.

  In Messages > Options > Email reconciliation (this migth be slightly different on your device, but the glance here), you can delete it and reconcile the options to delete messages from the server, etc..

  You have the options to "send using the" now, the whole book of e-mail on the device. You can change them at will, in all cases, except to respond to an email as described previously.
