  It was to be expected if you have made a backup from external software instead of using the recommendations of backup / restore of the Organizer:

  If you "import" the backup made by other software, you can only retrieve the metadata that you have voluntarily registered in the metadata section of your files.

  The albums are NOT written in the files. They are lists of files stored in the catalog, like playlists for audio.

  Because it is saved in the catalog, you have to run the process described above to retrieve the catalog or (if you install on the same computer) to 'convert' catalog.

  This file did you import into Lr?

  And I would say you will find the duplicate in Lr, note the file name and then search the photo library to see if you have multiple instances of this photo. You cannot use Spotlight; you will need to use another utility like find easy.

  But you are right; If you have deleted them permanently from the "recently deleted" album they should be in the trash; you could confirm that as well.

  And use 'Show in Finder' alleged images duplicated in Lr to see where the copy is stored; that should also give you an idea of why it did not work.

  Assuming you are using iPhoto and not the new Photos.app, Yes.

  You can bulk delete via Capture of Image (in the Applications folder)

  Create a picture Album that you want on the phone and you can share them on the phone via iTunes.

  If you use iCloud photo library you cannot delete pictures after the import (or) - deletions on any device will be on all devices - if storage is a question about a device set to use optimized photos

  The pictures that you have imported this way must have been added to your photo library, or you would not see them in my photo stream.  The photo stream shows all the photos that you have recently added to the library, to transfer them to other devices.

  You will find all the photos in your photo stream in Moments?  If this is not the case, there is a corruption in your library of Photos, then post back.

I use iCloud photo sharing with my library of photos (with my iCloud account), but my machine is set to 'Download the originals of this Mac' so I don't think I would transfer all files of complete sizes. I realize, this is a snapshot in time, and once the two libraries are set up on their own accounts of iCloud photo library, they will be Islands separated by itself.

  Yes... I think the library should be 'local' to your Mac. It can live on a USB key and maybe even a network drive, but I do not expect any level of performance with her on the cloud.   Today, when I tried to open my library of Photos, Photos crashed. After I have reopened, Photos asked that the library must be repaired.   You add photos cropped to iCloud shared photos? The photos on Apple TV app shows only shared photos vapors and not your library of photos to iCloud.
