Lightroom does not allow me to import photos...

Hello!

I have a MacBook Air and Lightroom 5. My MacBook is new, and I just installed Lightroom on it after having previously on my Windows laptop. Lightroom worked perfectly, but one day I tried to import pictures on my SD card, and the screen was completely empty. I clicked on the SD card, but no pictures appeared. Same thing if I clicked on one of my files. But the thing was, I had just imported pictures from the SD card five minutes ago and he has of worked, but now it shows nothing. Photo below.Screen Shot 2015-08-03 at 4.46.13 PM.png

After doing a search fast on google, I found a person who had the same problem I had, and they solved by removing the preferences file, but I couldn't find that. Once finding that I am sure that the preferences file, I have renamed and restarted Lightroom, but it has not changed anything. I reinstalled Lightroom, but it did nothing. I have no idea what to do, but I can't do anything with Lightroom now since I can't import any of my photos. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!

Thank you!

  • Is it possible to have a gallery page that does not allow to click on photos to open this project in another page?

I like the page layouts that are offered with fast access to a site Web MyPortfolio, but there is something I want to change that I can't understand. On the default of the gallery page, you create projects that people can roll and click on open pictures that are in this project in a new page. I want to make sure people can't click on the projects. I want a gallery page where people can only display photos on this page. To me this looks more professional to have projects that people can click on. Is it possible that this can be done? Thank you!

    Hey Corey & Julie

Currently, Adobe the Portfolio is set up with galleries and projects in these galleries. However we will certainly take this feedback to the team that we broaden our themes + customization options

  • Lightroom does not import photos from camera or office. I can see them in the section overview of Lightroom, but when I click on import, said simply that they cannot be read.  Help!

Lightroom does not allow me to import pictures from my camera or my office. They appear in the preview of little Lightroom and I select the ones I want to import, and then add my info etc and manipulation of files metadata, but then when I hit just IMPORT keeps saying that they cannot be read.  SO FRUSTRATING.

To change the permissions on a folder, click the padlock icon in the corner of the info box. You will be asked your admin username and password (can be the same as yours if you are the only user on the computer). Then, you will be able to change permissions.

But I agree that user is not the real destination folder. To be sure, right-click on the destination in Lightroom and then choose 'Show in Finder' get info on this issue.

  • Lightroom 5.7.1 does not accept Samsung NX3300 raw photos

Hallo. I use Lightroom 5.7.1 and scan with a Samsung NX3300.

My problem: Lightroom does not accept Samsung's RAW photos. Error message: "the file uses a color mode unsupported. What can I do? "I already have a reset camera without result. Thank you to have an idea problem. Many greetings Greg

I think with this camera, you may need to install the Samsung's DNG Converter. Then import the DNG files in LR.

  • Lightroom not allowing me to import duplicates of tif

    Hello!

History - long boring, but I have shot and edited a number of images in lightroom, then open from lightroom in PS and made a final editing and saved as TIFF in a folder outside of lightroom.

Now, I would like to re - import these images into lightroom, but lightroom does not allow - I think because they are duplicates of images already in lightroom. However, I unchecked "Import suspected duplicates and it STILL does not." I can't understand why.

    I'm on a Mac, under 10.6.8. Lightrom 3.6 and Photoshop CS5.

I don't know how to attach a screenshot here, but essentially all of the images are 'grey' so that they cannot be checked and imported

Thanks for any help at all!

    Ellen

When you export images for editing in PS, Lightroom passes your image to Photoshop. When you save (or save as) of the PS, the resulting image is added to your catalog, even if you save to a different folder. This is why it won't let you import. You try to import a file that is already where you try to import to. It's already there, so you need not import it.

It. I saved a step in your workflow.

  • Hi, my camera is a nikon d 5300. Lighrtoom is 5.7.1. Lightroom can't read and develop the pictures that are taken in raw. If I sort to import raw photos - there is the error report that lightroom does not have this kind of raw format.

Hi, my camera is a nikon d 5300. Lightroom is 5.7.1. Lightroom cann not read or develop the photographs that are taken in raw. If I try to import raw photos - there is the error report that lightroom does not know this kind of raw format. My computer is 1 year (Win 7 HP). Who could help me?

    Eugen

DJ, the version number is in the subject line: 5.7.1. It's weird because this version should support the D5300 very well. My main guess would be a bad player or a bad USB cable.

Eugen, you can try plug the camera directly and download the images like this?

  • CC of Lightroom does not import the photos and displays an error, backup also fails

    Hello

I use Lightroom CC on Mac and I try to import images, but Lightroom is unable to do it this time for some reason any.

During the last import Lightroom does not have the download of pictures and showed me the following notification: "Lightroom has encountered an error when reading the preview cache and needs to stop smoking. Lightroom will attempt to solve this problem, the next time it starts.

As it stops it suggests to the backup catalog files and the following notification appears: "Lightroom could not save the catalog named XXX.". Check your folder permissions, and then make sure you have space on your rear disc and disc from the main catalogue.

I have 2 TB of disk space available.

I tried to import the camera and my computer, however it is unable to complete the import in two ways, just that several files have been imported and import fails. In each attempt to import files Lightroom creates temporary files with multidigital names.

I restarted Lightroom, then my computer, then attempted to create another backup folder, nothing happens. Please help me.

    Thank you.

I'm not an apple person.  I read on a few different forums that apple has changed what is called 'writing' in a recent update to apple.  You may need to find an Apple expert to show you how to make sure you are allowed to write to files or locations on your computer.

    Hi thebabywhisperer,

If you use Lightroom 6, then try to disable the graphic processor of Lightroom preferences.

    Open Lightroom

Go to Lightroom preferences in the Edit menu

    Click the performance tab

    Deselect the graphics processor

    Restart Lightroom

Let us know if that helps.

    Kind regards

  • Lightroom does not recognize any of my file types [DNG / JPEG etc] and is unable to import? any ideas for a fix?

Lightroom does not recognize any of my file types [DNG / JPEG etc] and is unable to import? any ideas for a fix?

It's impossible. LR is a non-destructive editor and photo management. For her to not see images of the files would make it one of the worst of these programs tyupes.

So there is a parameter that you have screwed up in the import dialog window that prevents your DNG, TIFF, JPG, PSD, PNG, CMYK and film formats appear in the import window.

So show us a screenshot of your import window.

More than likely you have chosen a destination that has all the permissions read/write to your username.

5.7 Lightroom does not. I have 'some import options was made' - "files could not be copied to the backup location" notice appearing as I download the device. I ignore and click OK. I then edit my photos and try to export. Water is no longer an option and exported labor is the original and not the published work? What do I need to fix this?

As Chetna asked, you export original?  Yes, you are. It is asking to export a copy of your original file, that is, of course, not changed. So, Yes, you won't see any of your changes. That's why you can not apply a watermark. Adding a watermark in the image he'd a file not original.

Choose another value for the Format of Image under settings in the file.
