  I think it would be best to not think in terms of what LR 'applies' changes. Because LR stores the changes made in the catalog, the changes are "applied" to the image on export. I think that it would be preferable to use the term 'view' instead of 'apply '.

  Then: when LR, you open a RAW image in PS the LR-changes made until then are displayed in PS and then "apply" when you save a PS (don't forget PS CS5 opens the RAW image).

  If you do more edits in PS and save these, LR will display these changes - you will then notice on back of the PS, LR will be re - load the image. On 'Save' PS applies (and here the term 'applicable' is correct) the changes by writing them in the image file. LR reads the saved file and displays it with PS-changes.

  But the LR catalog settings are still in the State of the point in time before you open the image in PS. It is so because PS writes the changes to the image file and not in the LR catalog. So now you have a set of changes in the LR catalog and another set of changes in the image file.

  To describe it as ' a little 'too top' with the PS applied, changes but it really has not applied the "isn't making the case because LR 'applies' only to export. LR doing at this stage is read the image with PS-changes file and display the image accordingly.

  But LR "feels" that what is displayed is not what is in the catalog online.

  This is the conflict that Lr wants to solve by popping the message.

  I don't do any tonal or color adjustments to the PS because it is easier in Lr and gives me better results.

  When the message appears, select 'Replace disk settings' - it keeps all Lr changes and does not overwrite the cloning.

  "Keep in Dock" and close the window of LR is 2 different actions.  "Keep in Dock" means that, even if LR is closed, the LR icon is always in the dock for the reopening.  If you want to keep open LR, do not close the window.  You can minimize LR as suggested above, or you can 'Hide LR LR in the menu.  Cmd + H keyboard shortcut

  Don't think you can get it to show under the histogram, but if you choose View-> Options to display (Ctrl + J) and then on the Loupe View TAB you can choose exposure correction on one of the lines to display superimposed on the image.

  Triple-check that you do not have an import of metadata preset active.  In the import window, right column, under apply during import, make sure that metadata are set to None before importing JPEG files:

  

  If this does not help, please download a JPEG sample directly from the camera (not imported by LR) card to Dropbox or similar and post the link here. We will check that indeed the EXIF metadata that are compatible with LR 5.

  1. the more often the cause of this problem is a metadata import preset that is to apply keywords.  To solve this quickly, in the right column of the import window, in the Panel applies during the import metadata set to None:

  

  So that eliminates the problem, then you've used a preset that has applied the two keywords.  We can guide you through the steps of editing the preset to fix this.

  2 If step 1 does not eliminate the problem, it is possible the photos already have the keyword applied in their metadata before import you them into LR.  Download one of the pictures to Dropbox (or similar) and post the link here and we will take a look.

  5.4 neither Lightroom or Photoshop CC can import CR2 files stored on my NAS.

  The Mac connects fine to the NAS. I can see the photos and copy them into my new PC, but cannot be imported.

  I know that LR does not allow to store CATALOGS on a network, but I've never had problems with the original stored raw files.

  What are the symptoms of a bad monitor profile. You need to calibrate it with a hardware standard. As a workaround, you can set your monitor to sRGB profile, but which allows simply Lightroom view your photos, but the colors are likely to be turned off, and your prints will match what you see on the screen.

• Lightroom Import issues with update

  I'm trying to import into LR.  He began the process but never finished.  Import gets about a quarter of the way through then never complete.  It has been sitting in the same place for several hours.  I tried 4 times.  A few times I had to "Force quit" Lightroom.

  I did the last update CC and done all the usual troubleshooting.  Computer restarted etc...

  I use a Mac more old which is not compatible with the update of the Sierra.  I'm afraid that's the question that nothing has changed since my last import.

  You must select the option 'Add' in the main menu, please select move or copy to select the destination folder in the import window.
