  When I open Lightroom, none of the thumbnails will show the images. They show that the gray thumbnails. If I'm in the Library tab, when I select a thumbnail, nothing will load.   Could ensure you that the photo is not lacking in your Lightroom CC/6 catalog. You will see a '! ' sign on the top right of the Image Thumbnail.See using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom | Locate missing photos

  make sure that your graphics card drivers are up to date. Disable the use of the GPU and see if Lightroom performs better

• Lightroom do not see photos on external hard drive

  If my portable hard drive is full.  I bought a drive external western digital passport.  I created a folder on it and moved some pictures from the hard drive of the laptop on the external hard drive.  I did all this from Lightroom.

  But now Lightroom does not have the external hard drive folder in the library.

  If I try to add the folder using the + sign it will open the folder in the import window, but all is greyed out and say 'it's a duplicate of one already in the catalog

  Looks like the pictures are here, but it can't connect to them somehow.

  I also tried to take a new picture and won't see import in the folder.  It will then load this file in the library, but with only this new photo and any of those who are on the record.

  Would appreciate any suggestions.  I'm new to Lightroom def so there is a chance that it's user error what am I missing?

  You need to move the Images in the Lightroom Catalog, before the images has been saved on the internal drive now they are all on the external hard drive. for this purpose, you must update the location of the image in the Lightroom folder as well.

  Lightroom does not allow me to import pictures from my camera or my office. They appear in the preview of little Lightroom and I select the ones I want to import, and then add my info etc and manipulation of files metadata, but then when I hit just IMPORT keeps saying that they cannot be read.  SO FRUSTRATING.

  To change the permissions on a folder, click the padlock icon in the corner of the info box. You will be asked your admin username and password (can be the same as yours if you are the only user on the computer). Then, you will be able to change permissions.

  But I agree that user is not the real destination folder. To be sure, right-click on the destination in Lightroom and then choose 'Show in Finder' get info on this issue.

• Lightroom removing not rejected photos of drive - please help

  I use lightroom 2.7 and have been for centuries now.

  When I reject photos (x) and then click on the photo, delete rejected photos, pictures are removed my files from LR and sent to my trash, however they are still in my folder of photos on your pc.

  It is used to remove pictures of disc of my files and LR TIMES (well at least I thought it was). Have not really looked at as closely as by TB in the past a lot of pictures.

  This means that I'll have to delete two times (once in LR, and then again in my pictures folder). Very annoying. Am I missing something here?

  I still can't believe that you get something in the trash without him be removed from the directory where he lived.

  Could you please show these captures new screen, but with the following information:

  • In the trash, choose display details and make sure that the full path of the file is in the screenshot
  • A screen shot of LR library before deleting, ensuring that the file panel is visible (and a possible with the metadata information)
  • In Explorer mode, choose display details and make sure that the full path of the directory is visible

  My suspicion is that the photo resided you in LR in a different directory than you look in the Explorer (2nd copy during import?).

• 4.4 Lightroom will not export photos!

  I'm on Windows 8, and for some strange reason, I'm not able to export anything from Lightroom. When I try to press the button export from anywhere, it will freeze just straight up. There is no error message or anything, it just freezes. It was working fine before and I don't think I changed the export settings or anything and it just randomly stopped export. I always kill now with the Task Manager. I had the problem in 4.3 randomly yesterday and then I upgraded to 4.4 and I still have the same problem. I made a new catergoy and that did not always help. • Organizer not showing photos in thumbnails... only get square gray w/hourglass

  The Organizer is only show a grey white square as the thumbnail and not the actual photo.  However, once I click on the thumbnail, the picture appears and is veiwable.  It is a problem that has recently started.  All my other photos, in other albums, are viewable as thumbnails in the Organizer.

  I imported the A1, A2, B1, B2 files in Lightroom and gave them the keywords that reflect the folder structure.

  Now, when I look in Lightroom under folders, the structure is gone (it is still there on my drive). All I see is a list of A1, A2, B1, B2 files, so it is difficult to navigate to the folder that I want to work with.

  How can I get Lightroom to display the folder structure in that my images are in fact?

  Found a solution. Right click the folder and select "show parent folder.
  Repeat this operation several times until you see the folder structure you want.
