  I was able to do this by taking a screenshot of my window of lightroom now alt and drag the slider "masking" where I wanted to, but I would like to be able to reproduce this effect in full resolution of the image and without having to use such inelegant solution. I asked my local photography group and, while a lot of people stressed the fact that it is extremely easy to use "curves" to do this, I spent hours looking for and experimenting with the curves and same dialog box never approached to reproduce the effect.

  This is a known bug - see workaround in this bug report in the Adobe official feedback forum: Photoshop: blur Non-destructive for the masking does not record properly more | Community customer Photoshop family. In addition, please add your vote and opinion for the bug report. even though Adobe has acknowledged the problem, they can't fix it immediately. Each vote makes it somewhat more likely that they will prioritise a fix.

• Masking of radial gradient filter in Lightroom in Camera RAW?

  In Camera RAW (at least since version 8.6, sorry I can not check previous) you can hide a gradient or radial filter: you get an option "brush" in the right panel to get a brush masking active only on the filter just applied.

  I looked everywhere in Lightroom but could not find it, seems that this is one of the larger misalignment of the function between the two.

  Is it possible or I'm missing something?

  If you open a Camera RAW file edited in LR you keep to see masks applied on gradients and radial filter, so you can continue to work on your files without much hassle, but I need to scroll through Camera RAW in order to apply these masks.

  Any clue?

  Need not do anything. ACR and LR are currently a little offset long-wise; most people (including me) expect to see the function of masking brush for degraded tools appear in the next big release of LR - LR6.

  ACR on CC gets these features more quickly today because of the creative cloud model, while LR has always respect the perpetual license (despite being also on CC) model where great new features are only deployed with a major release.

  To start, I used PSE for some time and have recently started using LR, which I LOVE.  But, as in any learning new software, I hit a few bumps.

  
  

  I looked at a few tutorials on how o use the hide feature (using the adjustment brush), that, as far as I know, I'm doing everything correctly, but it doesn't seem to work.  At least not in the way that I thought he was supposed to.

  
  

  What I try to do in this case, is, in the treatment of a portrait of a baby, there are some extra noise due to an ISO high.  I am trying to reduce that by using the tool of the Luminance in the "Détail" section  But, I would try and keep the detail in his eyes.  Then... I'm trying to hide the central part of the eye while reducing noise in the rest of the portrait.  Pretty simple, right?

  
  

  But I tried several times, in several different ways, to hide the eyes and reduce noise in the rest of the photo, but it's still soften the eyes as well.

  
  

  What I am doing wrong?  Do I have the wrong impression of how this masking thing is supposed to work?  AFAIK, LR does not layers like PSE, t - it?

  Laughing out loud. It is not. The only parameters that you can use for the adjustment brush are 7 control string parameters in the adjustment brush and noise reduction isn't one of them. It is therefore no way to do what you do unless you cut down on the noise reduction to simply 'help' with the overall noise, then try to use a negative the sharpness setting in the adjustment brush. If you set the sharpness or less-50, you can actually paint a blur effect that should be able to do what you are trying to accomplish. You can also try a little less clarity as well.

• Malfunction of automatic mask brush

  Hey guys, iv works in lightroom for a few years now and have been using the tool of shape mask car for a long time.

  But iv recently downloaded the new lightroom and I try to select my RAW files with automask sections for editing, but it selects the edges as the brush with the mask auto turn off.

  If anyone has seen this problem before and knows how to fix, please send through help!

  I'm not sure I understand your logic - "he selects the edges as the brush with auto mask turns off."

  In order to follow with an exchange of views to see if you really have a problem-

  With the 'off' Automask brush does not select the edges!

  1. with Automask 'off', the brush changes all pixels located under brush.

  If brush on the area of blue sky with automask 'off' - the Green overlay shows where the brush adjusts.

  

  2. with Automask 'on', the center of the brush hair cross chooses the tone of image pixel to change, and only similar tones are amended by the brush stroke.

  Then brush on the area of blue sky with automask 'on' - and the Green overlay shows where only the blue of the sky is adjusted - as is the tone where I first clicked the brush to choose the ringtone of pixel. (I didn't click the brush on the red zone!)

  

• Applying the exact same montage of two photos in Lightroom

  I put my camera on my tripod and take several pictures with different exposure settings so that I can combine them in Photoshop through masks of brightness.

  Suppose that I took two pictures (A & B) with different exposure in my lightroom settings.

  This is my workflow:

  1. apply the Lens Correction in Lightroom for A & B

  2. apply the transformation using my guides customized in Lightroom for A & B

  3 export A & B in the form of layers in Photoshop

  4. apply luminosity masks and to merge these two layers for a final image.

  Currently, I struggle to apply the same guides accurate for step 2, because I have to manually draw these lines myself.

  Is there a way to apply the same settings to the step 1 and 2 directly to two images?

  After you apply the vertical tour on one of the photos, just sync turns it up for the other photos, selecting photos, ensuring that your corrected image is the selected time/all, click Sync, and then ensure that turns up is the only selected item in the transformation.  Of course if you made other adjustments to one and not the other you selected those other institutions, but transforms standing is one who guided a copy through the vertical adjustments:

  

  

• Lightroom cannot find any pictures on my new Mac

  I have lightroom on my new Mac and I can't import of pictures that are in my photos application. It seems that it only sees my old Mac as an import source of.

  Photos stores your images in a buried folder called Masters. This folder is hidden inside a Package folder that ends with .photoslibrary.

  You need to right click on the package folder and select "Show Package content" then it extends to many different files.

  

  

  Lightroom can't see that folder Masters because it is masked by Apple, Mac, OS X.

  If you copy this Masters folder on another folder on your disk. All the pictures folder.

• Image edited in Photoshop does not exit Lightroom after 2016 CC-06

  I upgraded from Lightroom and Photoshop for the latest versions of CC this week (June 2016) and ran into a problem.

  I have re-kept the image in PS and no change in LR. I also deleted the image of LR and re-imported, but LR unclear some of my layers in the view of the presentation.

  When I export the image as a JPG in LR, it also has the ugly marks on a model otherwise nice! Likewise for the mobile unit, too.

  Ideas on how to fix?

  Here is the same image on the left is Lightroom, Photoshop is the right. I closed both programs and reopened for this screenshot.

• Edit in photoshop in lightroom

  Can someone help me please. I am very new to try to work with layers, masks and so on.  In lightroom when I go to the photo and select edit in the option I want to 'open as layers in photoshop' has not been highlighted and therefore not available for me.  Anyone know what may be the problem?  Thanks in advance.

  This option works when you select multiple images in Lightroom to open as layers in Photoshop.

  Choose so many images to enable this. See photos from Lightroom open in external applications

  Try the file menu command-> open the new item, select each catalog that there are listed until you find the one with your photos

• Brushes of Lightroom?

  Hello

  I am new to Lightroom and I cannot understand what exactly is the difference between the brushes.

  In photoshop, for example, a brush can be used to create forms / models / masking / adjustments etc, so I can understand the need for different multiples in the form of brushes.

  I've seen sites selling brushes of Lightroom, and so-called "Brush face", for example "Teeth whitening brush", "Marriage Brush", "HDR Brush" etc etc.

  However, all these brushes seem to be the same (circular), so I don't understand why it takes more than 1 brush?

  I hope you understand where I come from on this dilemma.

  Could someone please explain in simple terms, exactly why some brushes are described as being for certain tasks, if they are all the same?

  Lightroom already has a number of built-in brush pre-sets. If you select the adjustment Brush tool, simply click on the drop down to the right of the effect of the speech. Consider parameters suggested cursor for certain tasks, but you are free to twist them or create your own custom settings.

• Lightroom turns my (raw) CR2 files in red

  Hello - I am having this problem will all my Adobe software (bridge, camera raw and lightroom). My raw files in red color change. I checked my monitor profile and I use the sRGB profile all over the place. Here's a screenshot of what question I face. As you can see, all the thumbnails have become red.

  When I open these images in my windows machine using the integrated photo viewer or Windows live photo gallery, I don't face any problem. I also open these pictures in Canon DPP and it works very well. In all the Adobe products I mentioned above, I see this problem.

  I'm new to this, ask for your help.

  The two photos of this small catalogue had zero BM, HSL and Split Toning applied settings that skewed their color to Red:

  

  

  A hypothesis as to what happened is that you have edited a photo of sunrise/sunset which was for the most part only orange and seemed better with still more than orange, and then for some unknown reason only, you know, you've decided to define the LR default values to these severely fixed parameters , using Alt / Set Defaults... / update to current settings.

  With the help of your Alt / Set Defaults / reset default settings deleted Adobe your inappropriately custom LR uses by default, and your Reset using challenge all the wrong settings on each selected photo reset you.

  Reset by clicking on the picture changes its settings to whatever the faults of LR are both.  So as long as you set the default values for LR, whenever you used the Reset, it would change the default inappropriate photos.

  Normally, you would customize your default settings to make LR always use always a certain profile of camera use a small noise reduction always have whet active masking or or have LR will automatically use a default value instead of the profile of Auto lens.  You would not normally be set by default LR which included the parameters of toning and color as you did.  Of course, it was just a mistake that you did not know you had done.

• Photoshop feathered mask unrecognized in LR6

  Please refer elsewhere if this has already been discussed, but after several iterations of the Lightroom CC updates the problem persists.

  How to create thumbnails in Photoshop is completely non-destructive; I have create a renowned outline where I want the edge of the tile and then invert the selection is outside and create a curves layer set on multiply to darken the hidden edge. I adjust the softness of the tile using the feather slider in the properties of masks. Works fine, except for one thing...

  Lightroom does not recognize the pen. The preview image shows just the hard edge of the mask of the tile, and it is not just the preview but if exported or printed. The only solution is to create a layer merged upward in Photoshop; easy to do, but the waste of the file size. I tried to delete and re-create the preview of Lightroom without result.

  Please read the link that confirms this PS bug below. I agree it is meaningless, but it's what Adobe says, it's the only solution until they deliver an update of the PS with a fix.

• 6 Lightroom could not find my Fotos

  I care about the expirences with the trialversion of lightroom CC. Then I bought version Ligthroom 6. When I started Lightroom 6, I can see the previous my fotos, but wenn I want to develop them, there is a blue screen with diagonal lines. Ligthroom cannot find my Fotos. If I want to load them again, I can not load, because there is already the previous and photos, I want to load, are gray in the mask of loading. Maybe my photos get lost in the cloud. Is it possible to delete my previous to load them again for my camera?

  Go to Preferences, click the performance tab, and then clear the check box, this will remove the blue screen with diagonal lines that you can edit your photos
