  The usual policy of Adobe in the past, it's that if you buy a version of Lightroom and within 30 days a new version comes out, they will give you a free upgrade. The problem is Adobe never pre announcement when the new version comes out. (And of course, Adobe could announce a different strategy for Lightroom 6)

  So, its up to you if buy you now or wait.

  Yes. The student edition is the same exact, just different program license and price. And after you purchase the edition student qualifies you to buy any subsequent upgrade.

  I have CC and also had lightroom. Since Lightroom has been included in the following CC, I had problems whenever an upgrade is displayed.

  This time, I receive a configuration error message telling me to uninstall and reinstall lightroom, if this does not work, contact support adobe technique and its error explanation not 5. Well, I've done this several times and spent over 2 hours with the help of adobe (using remote access) and I still have the same problem. When I open lightroom, I get the configuration error message and then the programs will work but develop module is disabled.

  Adobe support have not found a solution and does not explain why this is happening, they have cleaned the caches, played with rights of access, uninstalled and reinstalled and still cannot solve the problem. I wish they would do their homework better when the publication of upgrades. Or better explain what error 5 means.

  in any case, I'm still without a fully running version of Lightroom (which I pay for). It is one of the annoying problems with the bundled software speak, if one party is at work, you always pay full price.

  I have an SSD in my macbook and I think it may be something to do with the access rights for the SSD but I don't know if it of relevant or not, Adobe's Support seem to have no idea and just continue to follow scripts.

  Well, I have looked in the forums before and couldn't find an answer, but eventually find an answer through the links "more like this" right.  The path of CS4 was stored in the Windows registry. I had to update CS6 and it now works perfectly.
