  Could be due to a corrupted preferences file. This file can go 'funny' and is then responsible for all types of strange behavior of Lr. The repair is to replace the preferences file.

  There is nothing to hover over to see which zone painted you and if you close the brush and then reopen it, the button does not appear.

  Press the H key once.  H active / disable the visibility (mask and displays alternately) the "pines" for the different adjustment brushes.

  All the old brush files still work in Photoshop CS6 and newer versions of Photoshop as well.

  Check your brush settings and color and mode you use mix.

  About 2 days back I had a problem in lightroom 6.4. I would like to brush an article of a photo to apply some changes (for example an exhibition, dodge, burn... etc) but

  the brushed sections would not react to the changes.  However in the browser window, I saw the occurrence of chaages (the small image with windows on the left side of the screen.) I asked in the sections supposed to be brushed if I moved my sliders up and down (for example an exhibition).

  I did a search for help in the adobe to Lr then called adobe support forums because I thought it was somehow related to my upgrade to Adobe LR 6.6... don't remember if this was occurring before or after the upgrade. Now, I think it started before the upgrade.

  I was told to reinstall lightroom and things do not seem to work after that. However the problem arises again and randomly...

  To resolve this problem, this time, I played a bit with the specifications of the selection of the brush (changed the specification of article brush '(revised) dodge.lighten' just' Dodge lighten' and tjhat seemed to work after a retry).

  The applied brush reaction time also seems to be a bit slow laggy.or sometimes.

  I use a DELL PC with Windows 7 Professional, a processor of xenon with 16G memory and K4000 GPU.

  So here's the real problem? If you do a lot of brushing or healing spot on a picture, it will get lag or slow you apply more brushing. It is a known problem in Lightroom. There are several things you can try to improve the problem. In no particular order, are the things you can try:

  1. Turning off graphics acceleration (preferences-> Performance tab-> clear the check box)
  2. The bruhsing or healing spot as the other of the last step change and then turn on lens as the last step (if desired) Corrections
  3. Brush in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements
  4. Get a faster processor
