• Lightroom "Open with," "open...". "Links for Photoshop 5.1 in gray.

  I work with the latest versions of Photoshop, Lightroom and ACR. A couple of weeks, I noticed that links to Photoshop since Lightroom were all grayed out. for example, when I right click on an image and select 'Open with' he and the rest of Photoshop links are grayed out and inaccessible. I used Photoshop since Lightroom ansd since v1 v2.  My operating system in Windows 7.

  I have read a few messages in the forum and followed the advice to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop to restore links. I spent about two hours to do this yesterday. When I made the links were back and functional. I left the compluter all night to make sure that everything has been saved. This morning, I opened Lightroom (64-bit) and attempted to open an image in Photoshop for editing. All the links were still gray.

  So today, I uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom. Still no luck.

  If anyone has some insight on this issue please let me know.

  Personally I would try again after the reinstalled Lightroom Photoshop, just so that I had done it in both orders. Photoshop > Lightroom and Lightroom > Photoshop. I have done this ages ago and it worked. YMMV. Otherwise look to delete preference files.

  1 intent: Im using Photoshop CS5 (PS5) & After Effects CS5 (AE5) to create a DVD for still CS5 (5) menu. I used the 'Film & Video' preset in PS5 do a standard HD x 1080px 1440 image format; who looks the same in AE5. My problem is in the PS5 size "Pixel Aspect Ratio Correction" is the size I want the universal size to be. Its a more elongated version that looks better to me, but works well with HD monitors (as this DVD will play on a computer 17 "laptop).

  I love my monitors that are be 1920 x 1080. For editing, etc., it does not matter. Size to see all the controls, etc. is nice. The important part is keeping the proportions. Again, first, After Effects do default. When you preview material outside these programs, especially HD, some players (things of sense as Windows Media Player, Quicktime, VLC media player, etc), won't get the proportions provided, particularly when you assign to the 'full screen '. They are likely to play your movie to the size of the screen, and it will depend on what is perhaps the "native resolution" of the screen. Look for the settings of these programs which retains the proportions.

  I can't illustrator to open my smart objects in photoshop.

  the process is generally double click on the vector smart object, it opens in Illustrator.

  Now, I get an error message that says:

  'Could not modify original dynamic object because the application that created the dynamic object cannot be started. '

  What should I try?  I tried to call tech support, but they were not able to understand the question.

  Somehow your OS has lost the association of file .ai with the Illustrator application extension. (or PDF or EPS - depending on what you are using)

  You must reset this association, so that the operating system can launch Illustrator when Photoshop asks to change the .ai file.
