  I imported a single Tiff file from photoshop and it seems squashed vertically when importing (about 5% but still). Anyone seen this before? I tried to export, but it seemed always crushed. Any thoughts on what it can be.

• Images not showing Up when importing from another photographer catalog

  I am an editor for a wedding photographer and I had this problem happens often, and I don't know what is the cause. I can see all the information behind the image, the ranking and if there is no previous editing on it, but the image itself is not displayed. The photographer sends on the catalogue, forecasting and intelligent preview. There are moments that all transfer perfectly and other times the images are not there.

  We tried to delete everything on both ends and start making sure that everything is done correctly, but it still happens. I tried to discuss with the support, but they have not been able to help. Whenever this happens, I lose money because I can't be their editor. We have both the most recent LR so it's not the question.

  How we are currently transferring Weddings:

  She takes is export as catalog with preview and intelligent preview. Once it's she will post the three files (catalogue, smart overview and overview) on Dropbox and sends them on. When I get it, I download the catalog of smart zip preview and preview of the zip. Once downloaded, I extract the prediction and intelligent preview. Can I go to file > import from another catalog...   Image capture is an application that ships with Mac OS X. It can be used to control what happens during a reconnaissance of the card, but it is not necessary. I have my Mac configured to simply use Finder to copy maps, if for some reason, I use LR.

  I think that once you reformat your card, you may find LR will very well be important.

I want to download only the pictures at the end of my memory chip, essentially without having to wait a long time for the other 300 + pictures to import the big file for each and the jpg version, accompanying all over again because they are mostly high-quality... (I keep the actual chips with pictures on them as a backup (have not printed on most of the photos I had even for albums, etc. so I don't want to lose anything by deleting after you import each time, because they are all the memories with my husband and 2 children..))

  Something to try...

  Connect the device to your PC via a USB cable and turn
  on the camera... If open windows... Close them.

  According to... to... Start / my computer... the camera can be
  listed as a drive letter...

  If_yes_right click on the drive letter and select... Explorer or
  Open... This should display the directory of the memory card.
  You can copy and paste or drag and drop the files from there to a
  folder on your hard drive.

  (The same steps work if you have a media player...
  When you go to... Start / desktop media slots...
  Drive should be listed under... "Removable disk" with a drive
  letter.)

  I configured a FDM location and import format to load directly to Hyperion Enterprise data via a .csv file. My problem came after I try to import the data FDM file. The import is successful, but at the stage of 'Validate', I see that my entire account card mysteriously disappeard FDM, causing no rows of my import data to map correctly. No error messages are displayed. data valid not simply against the previously downloaded account plan.   FDM would never delete the maps as part of the data load. I think that there is a script. Check your events.

• How can I remove the originals, I don't like to take when importing from a SD card?

  Just installed LR3 with Santa. Have been going through the videos and the Lightroom_3_Help PDF and PDF of Lightroom-GettingStarted_Lo but I can not understand how to remove files from the gitgo simply importing from an SD card or from my HARD drive (files already moved on the HARD drive but not yet slaughtered or imported into LR3). I was hoping that I could, at the LIBRARY, just r/c on a file that isn't obviously useful to keep and just remove it so I mustn't do it later. Looks like I could, thus, be able to focus more on the shots requiring a change.

  Also, need suggestions as to how I would like to import my files using the DNG, Copy, Move, or Add. First off, I'm not a pro at work but am an occasional serious amateur. I'm picky and I like things look the first time and I like options.  The pix already on my HARD drive is in the IMAGES folder. those that are imported from the SD card are transferred to the PHOTO folder. I have, in the past, moved the verssions transformed to another DESTINATION folder - now I still have the originals and I've dealt with copies to show and share.

  I understand that LR3 don't ND edition but I guess that if I don't keep a DNG so anytime I want a JPEG or PNG image that I open LR3 to make a. Since I've been taking a few hundred pix per year (although this will change with my new D5000) I won't load to the top of my HARD drive any time soon. So, is there a way I can make a DNG file, keep the original RAW or JPEG file AND save a JPEG or PNG copy turned in my DESTINATION folder in one swell foop?

  There is no need to delete the source; Select the photos you want to copy the source into your library and apply metadata and keywords that apply to all, then back up the photos that are now in the library, and then only have to format the SD card. Using this method, you will never have to worry about the photos of the source should be deleted, you simply focus on which those that are imported. Your also always make sure to have two copies of your work at all times and consider make a third copy you should kee off site to maximize the availability of your data disaster (and don't foget the catalogue Lightroom itself!).

  Thank you for your response. I actually solved this suddenly. I've had my laptop plugged into a port replicator to access devices. I decided to try to unplug, restart and try again. It worked! Do not know why the replicator program caused crash but it seems to work...

• Changes to the Raw files disappear when importing Images from external drive

  I use three external drives to copy my files from a work of transformation. Then I delete the original work on my hard drive portable. When I need to access these files again, I usually then re - import files in lightroom and remove the external hard drive. I used this system for years without problem. Recently, I found that when I go to import files from the external hard drive, my changes are gone. .Xmp files are there and I checked to make sure that the box is checked to write the changes to the .xmp file. I narrowed down it to two possible problems. It can be a problem with the disk hard as it seems to have started when I bought two new drives (see below). I also noticed that it seems to happen to Canon. Raw CR2 files and not Nikon. Raw NEF files. If someone has had this problem or have any suggestions?

• Problem logo 3D spinning when importing from PS5 Extended

  Hi people,

  I've created a logo in Photoshop CS5.1 extended (part of the suite Production Premium), first in 2D and then using the strummed tool giving a bit of depth in 3D and recording it as a PSD file.

  I then import PSD Photoshop file into After Effects 5.5 and everything is tickety-boo. However, the problem I encounter is that I want to rotate the logo to a full round per second, but can not achieve.

  I can run, but he turns like it was turning around a vertical tube, I not want to turn on the spot but I can't do the draw and the logo, and the vertical axis to the top line so when it turns it revolves around an arc/circle instead of turning on the spot.

  Please see the attached video and screen capture that could shed some light on my problem.

  Here you have a few easy options. The first is to open your PSD file, select the 3D layer and choose Mesh back to the initial position. It is a small icon that looks like a house in the 3D mesh panel. It must be centered in the mesh of the composition.
