Liquid layout

If you want to change the layout of a chart liquid rule, after you have already created a liquid layout, can make you that change and then update the presentation liquid to reflect the new setting?

There is no way to update the layout once you have created it (in any kind of automated way). Liquid rules provide you only a starting point. They are part of the "difficult task" to make copies (and usually links) between the parent layout and children implemented. You'll still have to fix a large number of objects in a typical pattern.

However, it is useful to try a liquid layout rule before creating the new page layout. You can do this by setting rules for the graphics (it looks like you use the rule of thumb of objects). Select the Page tool, and then drag a corner of the page to see how objects move when you the approximate size of the page layout that you want to create. When you release the mouse button, the page will return to its original size. Then adjust the rules for objects and 'preview' of the effect again.

  • The "Flexible" and Liquid Layout tabs

    I created a template of letter-size to use with a liquid layout (it must frequently be converted to A4 which is a little narrower). On the Table of contents page, I have a tab set to the page number (right edge of the text box) with a leader. How can I get the tabs to adjust to accommodate the new layout (without manually changing the style).

    Final usage is a model that will be widely available, I prefer to keep things 'guide-based' (as the guides work very well with all other pages).

    Another way to say it is I want a flexible tab!

    Thank you very much!

    Don't use a tabulator (normal) to the position of the right edge of an image, use SHIFT-tabulator (tab to right intention) when you write or ^ y in a large number of dialog boxes, such as OCD or nested styles or ~ y in the GREP dialogues.

  • Other layout, Liquid Layout etc.

    I read a few posts here, and I understand that there is a bug with importing vs adding items with alternative presentations.

    My question is more fundamental - and I saw so many AdobeTV and Rufus on YouTube that I can find - I do not understand exactly how to create another layout and to get into the content Viewer so I can see what he does on my device.

    I currently do this on a Kindle Fire, CS6 on a Mac, all the tools updated and functioning.

    I got a doc simple indd, liquid layout to create a horizontal version, then added another layout - and "apply current rules" is an option, which is nice, and I see an H and a version V. I have added those in a new article and updated on my device. The article appears as a new page of the current folio, but it does not turn.

    My usual caveat; I must be missing something. Can someone tell me some documents on that?

  • Image maps in liquid layouts

    Hi all

    I am new to Dreamweaver and try to create a Web site with a liquid layout.

    I have a large image on my page with different links throughout the image (an image map).

    Unfortunately, when I saw the page in my web browser the hotspots are passed to a different place on the image. When I change my layout for a fixed width page layout the hotspots are in the correct position.

    It is a constant problem with the help of a liquid layout and is anyway it can be fixed?

    Thanks in advance.

    An image map using coordinates that are related to a fixed-size image. If the image remains fixed in your liquid layout, there should be no problem. However, you cannot use a percentage for the image size. Once the image is resized, the card is no longer to the correct location.

  • Image maps and Hotspots in a liquid layout?

    I wonder if anyone knows a way to make an image map with hotspots to comply with a provision of liquid. Since each hotspots has its own coordinated, when the image moves (grows smaller or more) these hotspots is more coincident with the coordinates on the map. I have now fixed a map with animated buttons and clickable links (an image map with hotspots) to a pixel of 987 and I would do it again is 1920 pixels and liquid. I have the rest of my site works with a liquid layout, but cannot understand the thing about image map and a comprehensive online search proved unsuccessful as have all my attempts. Here is a link to my current site of the liquid and the page where the image plane. Thank you.

    http://christopherdeldridge.com/PhotoWorldMap.php

    All things are possible, but it is located on the edge!  You * can * cela by adjusting EACH coordinate dynamically but it would - be a major beast, given the number of hotspots you use, and the number of coordinate pairs each.

    I wouldn't want to tackle this project.

    Flash is perhaps the answer here?

  • Impossible? SEO - Friendly liquid layout 2 columns hybrid

    Convert my first site of the 4.01 to XHTML 1.0 Transitional. Next to the header and footer, there a 150px sidebar left and a main text box liquid. All together in the tables. The Web page fills the entire window and liquid. To be SEO-friendly, it READS THE FIRST reading before the left sidebar for a long time.

    Have read the excellent article in Cookbook titled "Generate SEO-friendly, 2-column layouts in DW. But he can't understand the hybrid liquid design (twoColHybLtHdr). Can get the sidebar to the top if I specify a certain width for the main text. But it's not liquid!

    I need the main text to fill the space between the sidebar of 150px and the right edge of the window, regardless of the width can be.

    (DW CS4 running. Mac.)

    Is this possible? Or not? Thanks for any help!

    Since the search engine spiders do not use CSS, it matters little what formatting CSS you use.  SEO is all about having a lot of content relevant, rich in keywords within good semantic markup (h1, h2, h3, p, li,...)

    Here's a CSS layout that uses a sidebar width fixed and liquid content area:

    You can use modules in the layout will be, but not as you try to use them.

    You have liquid and you can do more, but why you try to change the core of BC? Always use you it as you have been

    The developer reference

    Liquid in retail and small product allows you to do things on her cool.

    With respect to display and hide a list or details view - there is only one method at the moment but its going to be deleted so I can't suggest that. The engineers of the BC are supposed to present an appropriate method where the store will be liquid parameters so that you know the scope where you are in e-commerce.

  • Liquid layout at fixed disposal of the model? How?

    Hello

    I use a free template to create a site and I started initially with a fixed layout (which I chose) but once I have implemented the model he changed to liquid.

    Any ideas on how to change this back to fixed? I think that it is perhaps due to the files style.css or style - desktop.css.

    Help would be much appreciate,

    Thank you

    1. the min-width CSS property is used to set the minimum width of a specified element. The min-width property always overrides the width followed before or after the width in your statement. This means that the body element will never lower than 1200px but will pass to the same width as the screen if it exceeds the 1200px. If you want a static/fixed width, then you must replace min-width width.

    2. Remove

    Padding: 3em 0 0 0;

    By removing the line, you delete a top padding of 3em or about 48px. The foot has a height of 40px (2x15px padding + height of 10px text) and the rest is hidden.

    3. you must understand the difference between the ID's and class in reality it comes down to the fact that a class does everything that made one ID. A CLASS has the additional advantage that it can be used multiple times in a document. ID's are often used when a unique identifier is required.

    Just to help you understand, a fixed provision requires a fixed-width value. No min width no percentage, just a width in pixels. A fixed width paper won't be better between the different screen sizes. You will need a responsive and fluid design to do.

  • Liquid layout limits

    Hello

    I'm very new to DPS, I just tried to learn the process of development in the last days.

    My question is this:  The option "Automatically adjust content" he scaling limits when applied to a rule 'Object-based' of liquid Page.

    I have a full page of landscape with a background image to pleed. I applied a rule of liquid Page 'Object-based' to the image. SEE below

    My problem is when I create a different layout with orientation portrait. The image does not fill the page, as I expected to. SEE below

    Is there a limit as to how much an image will scale to fit area or I do something wrong?

    You must change the mount option. Select the image and choose object > fitting > mounting block Options. You want to select the option fill the picture proportionally.

  • Liquid layout keeps snapping back to its original state.

    Do not know what is happening; I'm trying to readjust a print trifold document created someone and I need to move the margin. The page is configured as three pages side by side on two sets. When I try and use the available tool liquid to change the size of the page, it snaps back and completely ignores what I tried before it takes.

    If I change the size of the taskbar, however, he changes.

    What the devil.

    It is by design. If you want to paste, hold down opt or alt why resizing.

  • For the liquid layout, is "Slice" taken in charge?

    {% for item in items %}  {% If {{item.name | slice: 1.1}} == 'a' %}}

  • Liquid layout is useless?

    So I am trying the CS6 and available cash comes in very handy

    Until we get to the stage of importation in the folio builder Panel...

    the only work around I can see is either using the add function (for one big question would be ridiculous and would INCREASE the workload)

    or the creation of replacement - iPad so V + H in a doc masks, duplicate all the batteries, then enter the indesign doc, removing the alternative provision and saving it under or V/H then do the same thing in duplicate and then re combining batteries the batteries then V + H sitting in their corresponding _stack folder

    or am I missing something here?

    because it seems that the USP for CS6 is not quite like the height as me and a lot of other expected?

    -Tim

    Importing documents InDesign with CS6 included alternative layouts don't is not supported with the current version of the Folio Builder tools, unfortunately. I agree, it would help a little for it.

  • liquid layouts page does not work quite... help!

    Hi guys,.

    I hope that one of you will be able to help.

    I finished reading a few books on AS3 and started working on a liquid transition with actionscript 3.0 animation (see attached .fla). Basically, I'll put the scaling NO_SCALE stage and playing with a picture of aspect 4:3 as a background. I have setup an event listener to detect the stage resize so that the background image is interpolated to the correct aspect ratio. There are two dynamic text fields, the dimensions of the stage followed by the purpose of debugging.

    The if statements to the listener function essentially detects if the width of the stage is greater than the height. Based on this calculation, the dimensions of the background image are recalculated in turn. If the width of the stage is greater than the height the scene, then the image will be interpolated to have his hauteur.75 in the amount of soundstage; in the case of a height of stage being larger than the width of the stage, then the width of the image of bg will be 1.33 times the height of the stage.

    Technically, the code works, but when you start playing with resizing, the dimensions of the stage recorded on text fields do not really match what you see on the screen and I'm not sure if this is a bug or if the scene is trully this size. Sometimes when I resize the screen that I am positive the stage height is larger that width, but the State of text in other fields and the code behave according to what text fields on the register, which is what is supposed to do, but the image is not crop properly.

    I need you actionscript gurus to examine the code and tell me what you think getting ready to happen. I really appreciate it.

    Well, here's how I ended up fixing it. It is the AS3 version.

  • Make a Table of the dynamic contents for a document with a liquid layout... Help!

    * Running LiveCycle ES4 and use of the 'action' to code generator *.

    I have a HUGE document (70 + pages) that needs a dynamic table of content that updates the user adds information that can push all the sections that follow to the new page numbers.  There are sections AND subsections under each article, but for this, lets keep things simple and just talk sections.  I had to face to find a way to do this for months and I need to have done this week. I already have the table of contents and click on each section heading, it sets the focus to the PDF for the first text field in this section.  (each section has a text field just after the title of section)

    To make it dynamic, I added 2 pieces for each section:

    (1) a field of visible text on the Table of contents page with the default page number that the article is on until the user enters information

    2) an invisible digital field placed just before the first text field in each section that of value is set on "property page number: current runtime" so he always holds the current page number

    Using the constructor Action, what I do is every time a textfield is changed, change the value of the table visible from the field content of this section to the value of the invisible digital field that is now the current page number.  There are 7 sections, so if the text of article 2 field is changed, then update the Table of contents to sections 3-7.

    Screen Shot 2015-01-27 at 12.05.36 PM.png

    When I tested on a single article, it worked.  But now it does not work and I do not know why.

    Here are some properties of the object than my being at the origin of the problems too. If anything sticks?

    Visible box on the table of contents page

    Domain: Type = text field

    Value: Type = Protected (I was cycling through all THE different types, but the only time where it worked, it was the Type of value)

    Invisible box above the first textfield in each section

    Domain: Type = numeric field

    Value: Type = calculated - read-only property of execution: current Page number

    any suggestions? Thank you!

    This has never answered, but I understand on mine.  Figured since it had 66 times, I would like to share what I found.  It was actually an easy fix.

    I added a textfield (set to display the current page number of the page on which it is) at the beginning of each section that appears in the table of contents and set it to always stay with the first line of text in this section as well as the document grew, the page number, in that the section begins will remain correct.  Place to hide it.  In the "binding" tab, I put the name is the same name as the corresponding heading in the table of contents.

    Hope this helps someone who is in my place last year. =)

  • A fixed liquid layout

    The excuse that English is not my native language, so please bear with my grammar and sentence structure.

    I have inserted and tag DIV which is centered regardless of the screen resolution. Here is the part of the CSS code:

    Width: 100%;

    margin: 0 auto;

    overflow: hidden;

    It works fine but when I reduce my browser window, the words in the div squeezes to adapt to the now smaller display area. If you do not "get what I mean, here's how it looks like;

    IT IS A SENTENCE

    When the window is maximized

    IT IS A

    SENTENCE

    which window is minimized

    Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Much thanks in advance.

    The smallest value min width size in pixels you want your

    to reduce to...

    Width: 100%;

    min-width: 300px;

    Auto margin: 0;

    overflow: hidden;

    That will force the

    for stay less 300 pixels wide, or 100%, depending on which is greater.
