  @ Special character is causing the expansion of generic query? "@gmx.de" is more restictive compared to the 'gmx.de"(Oracle 10.2.0.4)
  
  
  Select * from userinterface where contains (searchtx, "Smith in name" and % within the email) > 0;
  also works and returns three rows.

  '@' is a character by default, which means that your search for "%@gmx" will turn into a search for the phrase "% gmx.

  Because '%' on its own matches each word in the index, you get this error.

  Not part of your question, but in general it's a bad idea to use wildcards, unless you use the option SUBSTRING_INDEX. With a wildcard to start Oracle text may not use the index on the table "list of words" $I and is forced to do a full table scan to find the corresponding tokens.

  Windows 7: search does not find the files that should be. I have indexed directory and *.php included on the list of extensions, but search can't find files for Word searches that I know there are files with these words in them.

  If you're frustrated by research (aka Desktop Search), you are not alone. Click the Start button and type find and click the button 'change the way Windows search'. Now click on the Advanced button and select the tab file types scroll down and find your type of file (in your case .php) and make sure the radio button "index properties and the content of the file" is selected for the file type.

  Out the form by clicking on the OK button, but do not close the form when you click the Advanced button.

  Then, you may need to change the indexing locations. If the folder where your files are located is not known for indexing search, then search is not even bother looking for here (a source of frustration for many users). Maybe your files are located on another drive or partition without the knowledge of the indexing engine. Using the options icon and select/deselect expand, make sure that at least the files of interest are included for the indexed locations. I hope this helps.

  I am creating a tabular presentation based on a SQL query that has a list of selection based on a query with a where clause clause that refers to a column in the original SQL query.
  
  The situation is, I have a table that stores the client_id, source_id, and build_id, lets call it client_source. I have a second table, build_source, containing source_id and build_id, one to many relations between the two (1 source_id could have build_id 1-7).
  
  Using a tabular presentation, I want to select the correspondent build_id to use in client_source, but the selection list should contain only the build_id for this particular source_id of lines.
  
  Here is an example of the SQL source of tabular presentation;
  
  Select
  s.ROWID,
  s.CLIENT_ID,
  s.SOURCE_ID,
  APEX_ITEM. SELECT_LIST_FROM_QUERY (1, s.BUILD_ID,)
  "Select display b.build_id, b.build_id return.

  what I want to achieve, it's as source_id "BOLD" match fields. When the query is built this way, I get an error of "invalid identifier" Oracle on s.SOURCE_ID during execution.
  
  Is there some special tags to be used to refer to the external column? I must be missing something because this looks like a pretty mundane problem.
  
  I am running on 4.1.0.00.32, on an Oracle 10 g release 10.2.0.4.0 Server Express request.

  Your selection by query list receives a static SQL. That SQL can't "see" the value of your s.source_id.
  But it would work like this:
  where b.source_id = ' | s.SOURCE_ID)

  You would be the value for the SQL concatenation. It is not ideal, but it will work.

• Issue of "the query value list is invalid.

  I was playing in the APEX building a simple application. I want a simple list that retrieves the names of customers in the customer table. It is a simple select statement:
  SELECT cust_name FROM customers;
  
  However, I get following error:
  "LOV query is not valid, a display and a return value is needed, the column names must be different. If your query contains a query online, the first CLAUSE in the SQL statement must not belong to the query online. »
  
  Why should I use online query for this simple select statement?

  You will always get the same error of an LOV if the SELECT fails syntax check.

  You must always have a screen and return a value (there are examples on display in parts of hide/show):

  SELECT the description d, id r
  TABLE

  If your request is complicated you will probably return to this error and it will take:

  SELECT the description d, id r
  FROM (SELECT...)

  When I've developed a new Extension for Flash CS, I now see duplicates of this extension in the Extension drop-down list (window > Extensions). I used the CS extension manager to remove all copies of this extension, but I still see duplicates. Also when I click on either of these duplicates the extension tests, now it is difficult to see who is the most recent that I'm running.

  Is it possible, in addition to the Flash uninstaller to remove these extensions twice in the list?

  Wrong path. It is in the CSx.xServiceManager folder. There are two of them. EM installs for all users that Builder Extension installs in the folder of the user.

• Join the query in a dynamic list of values query

  I have a join query in a dynamic list of values query. The value does not return a value of text, but rather the value of the ID.
  
  Is it possible to use a join query in a dynamic list of values query?
  
  For example... in the query below, I expect to see ename in the drop-down list, but I see class_emp_id.

  The structure of the pairings/value of the item is incorrect - it should be: item1, item2, etc.: value1, value2, etc, so:

  ' f ? p = & APP_ID.: 50: & SESSION. ": P50_LP_ID, P50_LP_NAME, CURR_CLASS_CAT_ID: #LP_ID #, #LP_NAME #, #CLASS_CAT_ID #"

  I guess that CURR_CLASS_CAT_ID does not use the prefix P50_?

• Best practical Question - update the query (see object) based on the drop-down list selection

  I have a question about the most efficient way to perform the following task:

  I create a page that contains several DVT components to display data based on specific requests.  Top of page I am hoping to have a drop down menu (selectOneChoice) that contains dates different and based on what the user selects (i.e. 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, etc.), this will update the query in the view object of some (i.s. WHERE Date = '2011', or WHERE Date = 2013"), and then you view the appropriate data in the DVT.  What is the best way to do this - from a point of view bean managed / page, as well as the View object?  Advice/documentation would be appreciated.

  Regarding the problem of searching, you can check the extension "Disconnect"? I think it could affect the Google sites and third parties who use Google. You can disable or try its button Options here:

  Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category

  While you're there, you can disable all extensions essential and unrecognized. When in doubt, turn off.

  After restarting Firefox, did you notice a difference?

  Firefox functioned normally. I downloaded the application of password of Firefox and all my web pages stopped downloading correctly. I deleted the app, without change. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. Nothing. This happened once before and I had to take it to a computer repair shop to get it fixed. That day, it was caused by a program that I had downloaded. I tried to restore my system, but that doesn't work anymore.

  Clear the cache and cookies from sites that cause problems.

  "Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > advanced > network > storage (Cache) offline: 'clear now '.

  'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

  One possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

• I used all the suggestions you have provided however the recently visited list still displays in the new tab of the browser... does anyone know how to get rid of it

  If I clear my history or delete cookies or show nothing it still DOES NOT hide the visit list when you click the + to open a new tab in the browser!

  Click on the Firefox Button in the top left then "Modules", then "Extensions" and take a look at the list on the right.
