List of files in a folder in a text list

Read it please I want to make a list of files within a folder.
I can do Dir C:\Cab, but as the cottage:

27/07/2012 13:02 .
13/04/2012 06:58 6 819 abc.py
19/04/2012 the 17 433 07:44 about.png
13/04/2012 the 6 800 aboutDialog.py 06:59
19/04/2012 the 23 804 abouten_US.res 06:50
19/04/2012 108 abp.dll 544 08:41
19/04/2012 the 7 912 07:14 abpen_US.res
19/04/2012 acc.dll 716 288 08:41

I wonder if it is not run this command and get just the names of the exported without the size files date ect

Or better if there is a way to send a text with directory document here in from them would be exit 1

Filename C:\Cab\

The reason im trying to understand this is that I have about 3500 files that I want to put in a cab file and I don't want to alter each line because it would take FOREVER!

Sure.

Just enter the command:

dir /b /s C:\Cab > outfile.txt

This simply gives you a list of files in the C:\Cab directory and put the list in the file "outfile.txt".
The "/ s" will include subdirectories and will also give full paths

    Hello Expertise,

    I am trying to load the names of files in the folder to a table in ODI. then load the data from there to a single table.

    I am able to load the data from 100 files in a folder. using the concept of loop (used ODI gurus: SEVERAL FILES - TARGET SINGLE TABLE - SINGLE INTERFACE link to do this, but right now I need to insert the names of files manually to a table. ) My Question is "is there any jython script or procedure to load all the file names to single table with FILENAME column. ???

    If it please help me do this.

    Thank you

    Shakur

    Hi Shakur,

    Yes you are right... The operating system command should be part of the automated process, I mean if you combine these file loading process (Interface, procedure, etc.) in a package of ODI, then the command BONES to get all the names of files in the FOLDER should be one of the steps in the package of ODI. For this, you can use ODI OS command component.

    As far as I know, you can't.

    Well, who would certainly do, as much as you said that it is on a server, so a network drive.

    In this case, I was looking for a progress for the folder in the list to use it in an indicator of progress for the user.

    Unfortunately, there is no mechanism for it. Maybe you can organize the files so that you can get a list of them in 'chunks', based on a search pattern. Or perhaps you can organize them into folders so that you dynamically fill subfolders when a user wants to see what is inside.

    Cancellation: having 3000 + files in a folder is a bad way to orgranize files, especially on a server, as leading to a huge amount of e/s files and network I/O on the server load.

    Here are four ways:

    1. go to a command prompt and run the command

    dir [drive: folder] > c:\tempfilename (you can use any name and put
    in any folder of your choice)

    Then open Notepad, open tempfilename and print from there.

    2. write (for example, in Notepad), a text line 1:
    / DIR %1 > LPT1:

    Save it as 'printdir.bat' in the folder ' send to '.

    Then, to print the list of files in any folder, right click on this folder
    and select send to | Printdir.bat

    To include subfolders, set up the command DIR %1/O/S > LPT1:

    3. go in

    Follow the instructions.

    4. download and use all the several freeware/shareware utilities

  • How to copy a LIST fo file to a folder

    I have a folder with many files.

    I am establishing a registry of document and want to copy all the title/file name in a table of worksheet or a Word, then I can add columns of information about the content of the file.

    How do I select all the files in this folder and paste the file NAMES into a document?

    Thank you

    Dave

    Here are two ways to do:

    1. to view the hierarchy of folders, open Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder that you want to start on, hold down the SHIFT key, right-click on the name of the folder and choose command window open here. Tree type. clip and press ENTER. Open your program of processing (or Notepad) and paste (Ctrl + V) the list to her. You can now print, edit, or save.

    To view the files in each folder, type tree /f | clip and press ENTER.

    2. open Windows Explorer, navigate to the source folder and press Ctrl + A to select all items. Hold down the SHIFT key, right-click on the selection and choose copy in the path. Open your spreadsheet (or processing) program, paste (Ctrl + V) the list to it and adjust the width of the column. You can now print, edit or save it and add to it later.

  • How can we get the list of files in a folder?

    Hi all

    My plugin has a list of .ai files in the user interface of the folder C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS4\Plug - ins\Illustrator Filters\MyPlugin.

    Also, if we put 'MyFile.ai' in the folder 'MyPlugin', then the user interface should display the MyFile (file name) in a drop-down list box.

    I want to get the list of files in the folder "MyPLugin".

    Download the plugins to HAVE

    AI::filepath pluginsFolder.

    sAIFolders-> FindFolder (kAIPluginsFolderType,

    fake , pluginsFolder);

    MyPlugin folder

    AI::UnicodeString MyPluginFolder (pluginsFolder.GetFullPath ());

    MyPluginFolder.append (ai::UnicodeString ("\\Illustrator Effects\\Myplugin\\"));

    Here I get the my full path of the folder plugin in "MyPluginFolder".

    Now, this file, I want to get the list of files that I placed?

    What are the APIs available in artificial intelligence to get the list of files in a folder?

    If you want to enumerate files in a directory, you have to use the OS APIs. I does not provide for this. There are different ways to find important files/directories related to AI, but nothing else.

    The APIs to do this in the operating system are usually pretty easy to use but. Annoying if you try to hit Mac and Windows, but a little care in the design of your interface and hide the worst.

  • Move the file in the folder of the same name in AppleScript

    I had a problem with the script below. Basically, on the execution of the script, I want to create folders based on the name of the file and move the files in the files of autocorrelation. However, at the minute, that I'll have to choose the folder in which the script should run.

    Folder to choose a folder

    say application 'Finder '.

    located fileList to the name of every file in Folder with name extension is "m4v".

    end say

    the value point text delimiters to ".".

    Repeat with dittos in list of files

    get each text element of dittos

    masterFile defined in the point 1 of the result

    say application 'Finder '.

    create a new folder to Folder with properties {name: masterFile}

    move (each file from the folder Folder whose name contains masterFile) will cause

    end say

    end Repeat

    Ideally, I would like it to run automatically, but the folder is on an external hard drive. (\Volumes\Lacie\Movies). and I had problems to use the POSIX and 'alias' to properly re-create the path of the file desired.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hello

    You can try something like the AppleScript script which is a simple shell script wrapper.

    set d to (choose folder)'s POSIX path
    do shell script "/bin/bash -s <<'EOF' - " & d's quoted form & " 2>&1
    cd \"$1\" || exit
    shopt -s nullglob
    for f in *.m4v
    do
        m=${f%.*}
        [[ -d $m ]] || mkdir -p \"$m\" || continue
        mq=$(sed 's/[^[:alnum:]]/\\\\&/g' <<< \"$m\")   # quote meta characters for regex
        find -E . -depth 1 -type f -iregex '.*/'\"$mq\"'.[[:alnum:]]+$' -print0 | xargs -0 -J% mv % \"$m\"
    done
    EOF"

    For example, given that you choose/path/to/directory in the folder - source

    Input state:

    /path/to/directory/abc.m4v
    /path/to/directory/abc.txt
    /path/to/directory/abcd.m4v
    /path/to/directory/abcd.txt

    Status of the output:

    /path/to/directory/abc/abc.m4v
    /path/to/directory/abc/abc.txt
    /path/to/directory/abcd/abcd.m4v
    /path/to/directory/abcd/abcd.txt

    Briefly tested under OS X 10.6.8 but no guarantee of any kind. Please make sure that you have a full backup of the original files and directories before you run this kind of script.

    Good luck

  • Manually remove the iOS App files in the folder "Mobile Applications" on a Mac.

    In my eagerness, trying to save valuable disk space, I deleted all the files (40 GB) in the mobile apps on my mac. This folder has accumulated over 900 files app over the years. I am currently using only 160 apps on my iPhone. I deleted all the files (and emptied the Recycle Bin). After having to remove it, I was unable to download, only the applications that I use currently on the phone (160 of them), in my iTunes again (from the app store in iTunes). This is because iTunes App store thinks that I have already downloaded these applications; where I have deleted just manually in the Mobile Applications folder.

    After reading on the web that it is a mistake, I got cold feet and began a restoration of my time Machine to all 900 app files back.

    I started the process of restoring time Machine is because the thinning app is NOT allowing me to transfer my iTunes on mac purchases. I first thought I can "put" just the 160 apps from my phone, Mobile Applications to iTunes folder. Now, I realize that I can do is not "transfer purchases". I am on iOS 9.2.1 (6s iPhone Plus) and OS X El Captain (10.11.3) (Macbook Air).

    Moreover, I have a PDF file with a list of all the files in the Mobile Applications (900 application files) folder. I did it using an application called Print window. So I did not have a detailed list of all the files (apps) that I never downloaded. This is so that I can download the Apps on my iPhone directly (from the cloud) in case I need an app on my phone, in the future

    Critical how's this for keep the files in the folder of Mobile Applications on my Mac? In which case I have to restore my iPhone, applications will only download from the Cloud? If the answer is Yes to this question, I can go ahead and delete all the files in the folder of Mobile Applications manually to recover a good amount of disk space?

    I hope I'm clear in my question and description.

    Thank you!

    You have more need to keep a local copy of the apps. Any application that you do not have at the time of a restoration is downloaded from the cloud provided that it is always available. You can view your list of 160 apps for everything you'd be really sad to lose and keep a copy of those. You don't necessarily need in the library. As long as you have the file .ipa somewhere you can add new in your library at a later date.

  • How to open the file in a folder and to treat them with a program systematically

    Hello

    For my second question of the night.

    I wonder if there is a way to open all files in a folder, they pass through a vi and then add the output to a table or a spreadsheet? This would save me a lot of time and my wrists.

    Thank you

    Use folder list and automatic indexes on all the names of files in a loop FOR, processing each file in the list.
