List of "programs and features" Control Panel does not display some "details".

I already have 'Last used' in the menu of details and the column IS showing on the list of programs. but the data is empty for all the programs.   I have a LOT of details added selected and all columns in the details chosen gave except this one (but then, how can I trust the lack of data in other columns?)  I wonder why?  Believe me, I have used many of them!  Secondary question is: How to fix , and if it can be fixed in the Panel, is there another way I can get the same info?

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on laptop 64 bit.

Thank you.

Hello

There seems to be some missing details in programs and features.

Make the SFC (System File Checker) scan and see if the problem occurs.

Use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7 system files

Hope this information helps.

Can you do a restore of the system before you start, facing this problem?

    Download ESET Removal tool

Burn it to a CD or create a USB bootable thumb with her:

    Hello

1 did you do changes on the computer before the show?
    2. you receive an error message?

    Method 1:
You can run a Microsoft security scanner to make sure that the computer is free from virus infection:

    WARNING:
If you run the antivirus program that is infected by the virus scan will get deleted. Therefore, reinstall the program. Also if the files and folders are affected by the virus, while they might even get deleted

  • No list of programs and launch the search does not work.

Last year a virus creeped into my system. After I couldnot find and delete I ran combofix that seems to help eliminate the virus. However, I have a lot of files and corrupted files in my system that I don't recognize. also, my search for the Start button does not work after this difficulty and "all programs" list has disappeared. I recently found that I have to do a system restore but my dates do not go too far before the virus. What should I do? I have a 32-bit windows vista system.

    Thank you.

The best way to get rid of the shinannigans on your computer is to reload windows itself with the multimedia installation/installation partition if you have one. If this is not the case, I suggest to download and run Microsoft Security Essentials http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/mse.aspx this is a free anti-virus MS. Try creating a new account on your computer and connection in there to see if your search bar and list of program starts working again:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/create-a-user-account?SignedIn=1

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/change-a-users-account-type

For these two make sure you click on my computer is on a workgroup for instructions and follow the steps in BOTH of the links

If they then delete your old account and just use the new using Microsoft Security Essentials.

    I hope this helps!

  • Win 7 Prof 64 bit, devices and printers Control Panel does not load

When I try to open the devices and printer Panel, it opens initially but shows not all devices. The status bar at the top slips slowly into overall but never reaches the end to load completely. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of all my printer drivers (using the manufactures installation routines. Research in various forums talk about start/stop the bluetooth services, but none of this helps.

I created another user account and when I connect it, devices and printers opens OK.

I could live with that if it wasn't for the fact that I can't disconnect safely from my drive external hard usb. When I right click on the icon "safely remove hardware and eject Media" on my task bar the only option I have is 'Open devices and printers' and then I'm back to my original problem. The list of the menu I receive when I right click on the drive in WIndows Exploxer does not include a choice of ejection (it does for a flash drive, but not my hard drive).
(I have a laptop with Win 7 64 bit installed and it shows devices connected when I right click on the icon "safely remove...) »).

I tried to turn off nonMicrosoft al and restart services but still having the same problem. In the past, I had run CCleaner to clean the registry (no, I did not indicate a restore point) and I saw on a forum how that could have created the problem. I have since deleted CCleaner

I use Avast Antivirus, Windows firewall, SnagIt and Cobian backup. Short of re - install Win 7 (please, no) or by creating a new user and all displacement there (not even sure how to do this) is anyone know how to fix this? Or at least how I can safely disconnect my drive hard usb without messing up his data?

Then as indicated, the user profile is corrupted

    regsvr32 appwiz.cpl
    (DllRegisterServer in successful appwiz.cpl)

(depending on your configuration, you can get an error... proceed)

  • Control Panel; Does not open programs and features.

Help! Programs and features in Control Panel does not open. It's as if the file is no longer there.

    Hello

I had the same problem, caused by an update of thugs. I had to do a repair installation to fix the problem. For this,.

    1. Start your Windows computer.
    2. Insert your Windows system DVD into the DVD drive.
    3. Once there either using Windows Explorer or AutoPlay navigate Windows system disc and double-click on the file called "Setup.exe".
    4. Let Windows boot phase review and collection, when that is complete, Windows continues to install Windows 7 on your existing installation of Windows 7. If there is a problem, Windows will give you the opportunity to continue or back out (I would recommend back out).
    5. Once installation is complete, you will need to then activation key, then go to Windows Update and precede to download and install all the WU you miss.

That's all. It takes more time to make that a full install as Windows must work around your installed files. But it is the method that worked for me.

Let me know if this solves the problem for you.

    Kind regards

  • Why Windows Media Player is not displayed in my list of programs and features?

When I go into the Panel and then programs and features, Windows Media Player is not in the list. If I click on the Start button, then all programs, his list here. Must indicate all items that are installed on my computer, at least I thought. If someone has an idea, I would appreciate a response. Thank you for your time and your help.

All the built-in programs that are part of the Vista operating system will NOT be displayed in programs and features. To simplify the reason, Windows Media Player 11 is part of the operating system and cannot be uninstalled. So there is not need to be listed in programs and features, whose main goal is to uninstall or repair any installed programs. Another example is Windows Defender.

    For your information:

In Windows 7, Windows Media Player 12 is also part of the operating system and it cannot be uninstalled and it will not reveal in programs and features either.

  • Uninstalled program is still listed under "programs and features".

Original title: a program is listed in programs and features. It was uninstalled and deleted directories. Yet, it still shows in the list programs and features. How can I remove it?

I had installed this program before. I thought I had uninstalled. I tried to re-install this program, but cannot. I checked the list of programs, and it is still in the list, after being uninstalled. How do I remove it from the list?

    Hi n4ctf,

Take a look at this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314481

Edit the registry to remove an entry. This link refers to Windows XP but I checked with Windows 7 and it works so it should work with Vista.

Once you have access to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall you will see a list of numbers. You will need to go through each of these numbered editions to find the program you want to remove. Click on a number in the left column, for example {08D605B4-DCD1-451F-ABD7-52E6BB868E4E} and you will see then the details is in the right column of the registry editor. See the 'full name' so check to see what the numbers program refers to.

Normally, I would recommend that you try to reinstall the application rather that tinkering with the registry, but as you have already tried unsuccessfully to re - install, change the registry could be the last option. By the way, before making any changes in the registry, make sure that you back up the registry first. This link of my website will show you how to back up the registry:http://vistasupport.mvps.org/backup_the_registry.htm
