Unable to add the virtual machine network services
Hello:
I already read that warning Virtual PC 2007 is not compatible with win 7-64.
However, I read that it is "unofficially" possible launch.
OK, I installed it and it worked except networking.
Basically, I need to install the Virtual Machine Network Services.
I right click on my network card-> properties-> install-> services-> virtual machine network services (VPC2007 folder: where I can see VMNetSrv.inf)
Then says Windows: it is impossible to add the requested feature. The specified service has been marked for deletion.The problem is that I get this error even on WinXP SP3, so I think that there is something else wrong.
And of course, Virtual PC 2007 available networks are only: no connection, Local, NAT. (Missing my physical adapter)
Thank you!!!

Change the amount of vCPU in vCD deletes the virtual machine network connection in vCenter
It is a problem of crazy that we discovered, and I wanted to know if anyone had seen him.First of all, we miss the following software versions:
vCD: 5.1.1.867405
vCenter: 5.0.0 Build 913577
ESXi: 5.0.0 build 1024429
If you go to vCloud Director and change the material properties of an existing virtual machine (Powered off) any change in the amount of vCPU (to something new), inside of vCenter status of the network will change to the port group Standard (inactive) none.
Even if, before making the change, the virtual machine is connected to a distributed port group, and works well.We now display an SR to VMware, but sometimes it is worth running this by the community to see if other people have already seen or indeed want to test on their deployment.
Thanks in advanceWe have solved the problem now.
The reason why that we faced this problem is because we used the wrong order in the API.
You must ensure that you use the undeploy command when you work with the vCD API otherwise you end up with a disconnected network card.

New ESXi 4.1 install on the server. Server a (2) network adapters.
I have the set IP address statically vmnic0 for 1 network. Would put vmnic1 for 2nd network.
Seeks essentially to:
vmnic0 - 192.168.1.x
VMS - 192.168.1.x
vmnic1 - 192.168.2.x
VMS - 192.168.2.x
For any help or suggestion would be appreciated!
Thank you
You have 2 exchanges in different subnets, it is assumed that for some reason. Depending on your router and physical switches, you may be able to use virtual LANs to connect/isolate the two. It is also possible to use a virtual machine router that connects and routes between the two subnets. There are several routers of Virtual Machine in VMware devices downloads.

Slow access to the virtual machine network (Windows 2008 Server 64-bit) Windows 7.
Hello.
I have a problem when you access files shared on a Windows 2008 Server 64 bits on a client computer to Windows 7. It takes a long time (up to a few minutes) to for example open a Word file from the network share. It is not always, but quite often.
This also happens on two different servers client with almost the same equipment. Which is a basic IBM x 3400 with hard drives in RAID. I disabled the feature of unloading TCP/IP on the network inside the VM card.
Someone has an answer for this? Have I missed something, a configuration perhaps? I'm totally lost here...
Kind regards

My vSphere infrastructure 5 uses several data stores.
Two data warehouses are associated with NFS on different NAS shares.
I migrate VM to a data to another store.
The navigation data store, I see that the files are moved from the old data store to the new and that no file belonging to the migrated VM still does exist on the old data store.
If I look at the list of VMs on the old data store, I still see the old VM.
I see it in the list of the virtual machine on the new data store as well.
I checked that no .iso no pagefile is in the old data store.
How can I update the list of the virtual machine on the old data store?
Above all, how can I safely delete the old data store by ensuring that the virtual machine works very well on the new data store and I don't lose anything?
Concerning
Marius
This use of data store 'Phantom' is usually observed, if the current configuration of the virtual computer points to the 'old' data store (diskette, CD-ROM) or the virtual machine contains snapshots where - at the time where tone have been created - the VM has had these references. Once the snapshots are deleted from data store 'ghost' will go away from summary of the virtual machine.

I'm gaving a problem with the IP on windows vm disappear after having mounted the snapshot to restore. Here's what I do.
Mount making LUNS to the esx host area
I have eyebrows outside the data store to find the vm I want to right click and click Import the vmx file.
Imports of the virtual machine and when I start it up I wonder if I've moved or copied the VM. I have tried both moved and copy but when I connect to the virtual machine is missing all its IP info.
Any way to avoid the losting vm sound IP info when I import to the host from a LUN outlet?
Hello
Installs on the forum of the Virtual Machine and the guest operating system.
The MAC of a virtual computer is based on the UUID/name of the virtual machine so if you are not using a static MAC (one that recognizes VMware) and it will change the IP address might also change if you are using DHCP. So I suggest to use a static MAC in the VM configuration.
Another way is to set up the guest operating system in the virtual machine with a static IP address instead of a DHCP function.
But if you are unable to remove the virtual machine or the copy in the virtual machine, there may be something locking these files would be an another running virtual machine. If you need to find this VM and kill him. In this case, "vmware-cmd - L" and 'vmware-cmd - l' host in question can be useful to find where the 'hidden' VM is running. Ultimately you can use ' vm-support - x "to find a list of the virtual machines running by how the hypervisor lists. Then use 'vm-support - Z' to suspend the offending virtual machine that should unlock everything.
Yes, the use of these commands is command line.
However, before using these commands determine if you can find the place where life VM incriminated.
Best regards

Hello
If someone can answer that the way to change the network of a VM with Perl? I would periodically change the network where the virtual machine network adapter is connected.
Thank you
Take a look at the vGhetto repository of scripts, where you can find a lot of useful scripts, including updateVMPortgroup.pl , which may contain what you are looking for.

More than a Virtual Machine on vSwitch\Virtual Machine Network will be NOTconnect
I have a problem when I start more than one guest on a single vSwitch will connect to the network.
I have a DELL of 710 with 4 network cards installed. 2 of them are assigned to network management.
I created a vSwitch1 using 2 other network adapters and that assigned to the virtual machine network.
I then can't get one of the Virtual Machines to connect to the network.
Then, I created vSwitch2\Virtual Machine Network2 and use 1 NETWORK for each virtual network card and can then get 2 connected Virtual Machines.
Any help would be appreciated
Thank you
Phil
Sounds like your network switches is configured to only allow one MAC address per physical port.

Lists the names of all the virtual machines
I want to display a list for the name of all the virtual machines.
Get - VM export to much information, how to filter the info I need?
With the Select-Object cmdlet, like this
Get - VM | Select name
The Get - VM product objects that you pass through the pipeline ('|) ') to the Select-Object cmdlet.
The Select-Object cmdlet allows you to select one or more of the properties of the objects it receives.

Need a script to the list of all the virtual machines in CSV
I want to record a list of virtual machines from one host in a csv file so that I can add to their return with
New-VM - VMFilePath $VMXFile - $vmhost $ESXHost - $VMFolder location
I started with that, but am struggling with the name of the folder of the virtual machine (can be used in New-VM-map)
Get-VIServer-Server MyServer - protocol https-Force | out-null
$report = @)
Get - VM | Get-View | %{

$row. Name = $_. Name
$row. VmPathName = $_. Config.Files.VmPathName
# $row. Location = $_. Folder # faced with this line
$report += $row

$report
# How to make this online, don't invite not not the user?

We have warehouses of data which are seen by more than one cluster. I need a script that will display:
all stores of data seen by a cluster
the virtual machines on the data store
the host of the virtual machine is on
the cluster the host is in
The output I want is
name of the store of data, the VM name, host name, the name of the Cluster
any help would be appreciated
Pretty sure this will do what you need:
$report = @() Foreach($cluster in Get-Cluster){ $datastores = $cluster | Get-VMHost | Get-Datastore foreach($datastore in $datastores){ $vms = $datastore | Get-VM If ($vms.count -ge 1){ foreach($VM in $vms){ $object = New-Object -TypeName PSObject -Property @{ Datastore = $datastore.Name VM = $VM.Name HostName = $VM.VMhost Cluster = $cluster } $report += $object } } } } $report | Export-Csv C:\Temp\VMs.csv -NoTypeInformation -UseCulture
If you only want to shared data warehouses you can then use
$datastores = $cluster | Get-VMHost | Get-Datastore | Where {$_.Extensiondata.Summary.MultipleHostAccess -eq $True}
Hope this helps

List of Cluster and the virtual machines running on this group
Hello
I am looking for a way to discover all of the virtual machines that belong to a cluster. In other words, I want a list that maps a cluster to all virtual machines running on it.
In the documentation of the API, I find that "ClousterComputeResouce"has a managed object to "HostSystem" reference. "
And "HostSystem" is a reference to managed object to the 'VirtualMachine'.
So I can do it like this: ClusterComputeResource-> ManagedObjectRefence-> ManagedObjectRefence (VirtualMachine)-> whatever_properties_I_need_from_the_VM (HostSystem).
However, this would cause a lot of ' Vim::get_views"calls within a"foreach"loop." It would be a deterrent to performance as the vCetner in question has ~ 50 clusters and has ~ 3500 running VMs.
I think this was going to literally kill the VirtualCenter with so many API calls.
My Question: is there an effective way to find Cluster and their respective VMs in vSphere SDK Perl.
In vSphere client, we get the tab 'Virtual Machine' when we click on the Cluster and you can see all the virtual machines that belong to this cluster. So I hope that there must be an easier way.
Thank you.
Hello
You don't need the host_view for this action. Why don't you use begin_entity for views of the vm?
my $cluster = 'cluster1. "
My $cluster_view = Vim::find_entity_view (view_type-online 'ClusterComputeResource',
filter => {"name"-online qr / ^ $cluster / I});
{if ($cluster_view)}
My $vm_views = Vim::find_entity_views (view_type-online 'VirtualMachine',begin_entity => $cluster_view.
Properties-online ['name']);
foreach {$vm_ref(@$vm_views) my
print $vm_ref--> name. » \n » ;
}
}Hope that helps!
