Loading is successful ODI but data inserted is 0

Hi John,.

I tried to push data from sql to Hyperion. It has worked well. But the number of inserted rows is 0... Pleae suggest

All I can say is that you must be able to run the same query that ODI creates then you can check if joins are correct.

ODI just generates the SQL code and then happened to the Java API to load into essbase, if the SQL produces no result then it will not be loaded into essbase.

You might be getting string is too long if you load values in a column that are longer than the length of the column.

See you soon

  • ODI file data store

    Hi all

I have a confusion about the physical and logical length in the ODI file data store.

    I have a fixed-width file where a c2 col had datatype as string (30).

I've set this column in the data as string store > physical length 30 > logic length 30

My interface failed with error as '.

    ORA-12899: value too large for column 'S0_IDM '. «C$ _0S0_EAGLE_DWHCDC_CHRG_MST ".» "" "C2_CHARGE_DESC" (real: 31, maximum: 30).

When I increased the logical length to 255, the interface worked fine.

Being always the same 30 physical length.

    How different is it?

Any help on this will be appreciated.

    Thanks and greetings

    Reshma

This isn't the official documentation, but here's my point of view, after a few moments of reflection

Everything you do in the ODI Designer is inspired by the logical architecture. Only when running it manifested in a physical implementation i.e. connection strings are materialized etc. When you perform an integration ODI creates usually a few temporary tables prefixed with C$, I$ etc to be able to perform the necessary data movement and the transformations needed to, for example, to fill a data target (table) store. In your example, your flat file is materialized in such a temporary table before that its content is manipulated (or not) and loaded in the target data store. When ODI generates this code that he uses the logical length emitted in the DDL that generates temporary table column lengths, the physical column is ignored.

Now in your scenario is not a problem as constraints such as these do not matter to the physical file version knowledge if you were to write to the file, that it would not matter if you wrote return 255 characters or 31. This could be a problem if you were using database tables and varying the logical vs physical lengths but generally you reverse engineer tables from database using ODI rather than manually doing so makes better.

Anyway, in short, I think that the logical lengths should be taken as representative which will manifest itself in the materialization of the temporary objects used to manged / transform the data from the source models (tables$ CAN) and target (I have tables$) while the physical lengths indicate what the underlying physical representation of these models are in reality.

EDIT: after reading some logical documentation actually represents the length while physics is related the number of bytes required to store the data. Therefore, you could have a situation with multibyte characters where the physical length could be greater than the logical length but not really the other way around.

  • SQL Loader failed to load the same source sometimes data file

I meet different types of data, loading errors when you try to load data. What makes it really annoying, is that I'm not able to identify the real culprit since the success of load depends on the amount of lines in the source data file but not its content. I use dataset Toad export feature to create delimited data set. When I decided to take the first 50 lines then succeeds data to load into the target table. When I decide to take the first 150 lines then the data to load into the target table fails indicating that:
Record 13: Rejected - Error on table ISIKUD, column SYNLAPSI.
    ORA-01722: invalid number
I can see .bad file that the same line has been loaded successfully when the data file that contains 50 rows was used. The content has no column for this particular row is NULL (no chain).
I suspect that the toad generates faulty delimited text file when taking 150 lines. File data for reasons of confidentiality, I can't show. What can I do? How can we all further investigate this problem? Size of the array that must be loaded by SQL Loader is almost 600 MB. I use Windows XP.

  • Logging what data inserted in the outer table

    Hello

We load a large number of data using external tables and inserts into tables partitioned by day nor the hour.

Other parts of the system want to know what partitions have been updated and when, so before load us all the data, we make a
insert into new_data(date_of_event) values (select distinct(trunc(date_of_event) from external_table)
That's when inserting into partitions of day, IE get all separate days of that specific file.

These files, however, can be very substantial and after this first analysis, we do a full insertion in to the correct data table, that is, read the entire file again.

So my question is, is there another (better) way to retrieve the different days/times? A way to make the effective insertion in the table of data and information on which partitions Oracle inserted data into any dictionary etc.?

Haven't tried creating a 'good' temp-table, insert the data into it, extraction of dates and then inserting to the actual data table. But then, what is the best, creating a table and a fall or read the file twice?

    Thanks in advance

You don't say how you are querying and inserting, but if you have a control on a few possibilities come to mind.

    1. use INSERT ALL make a multi-table insert. Insert the "date_of_event" into a new "Journal" table and insert data to the table that you insert now.
Then you can make the separate (trunc (date_of_event) "select" on the new table of newspaper. Just truncate the new log table before each query or add a column that contains the file that was imported.

    2. create a VIEW that includes all the columns in your current query and another copy of "date_of_event" and peel the date of the event in another table.

    Option #1 is the simplest.

See ALL INSERT in SQL Reference: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28286/statements_9014.htm

  • My website won't load properly in FF, but will be in IE - tried solutions - did not work

I have 2 (1 sites cloned from the other) that the two have worked well in FF - until about a month.
    www.drydiapersplus.ca
(landing page loading correctly in FF - but loads correctly in Internet Explorer) and www.drydiapersplus.com (load properly)

When I try and open the site .ca - the left panel, the top panel and the right panel open properly - and the text in top... but none of the images load at the bottom of the screen in the Middle 1/2.

I tried to empty cache, I tried CTRL F5 (hard refresh) - and none of this works.

This is the .ca site this load IS NOT properly in FF (but fact in Internet Explorer)

    "< a href ="http://s43.photobucket.com/albums/e361/sugerray50/?action=view & current = casite.png"target ="_blank">< /a >"

It's the American site that load properly in FF
    "< a href ="http://s43.photobucket.com/albums/e361/sugerray50/?action=view & current = USsite.png"target ="_blank">< /a >"

edited by a moderator to fix the first two links of Hypertext - Ed

Currently, the .ca page seems, probably because you have a static image there instead of a Flash animation.

On the .ca, you use the full path in the EMBED tag? On the .com site, this path uses the secure HTTPS protocol. You could run a problem with the mixture of content of a domain security in the other domain. Try to bring it on the same domain or by using the same protocol used in the page.

    • "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > advanced > network > storage (Cache) offline: 'clear now '.
    • 'Delete Cookies' of sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the Add-ons is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Modules > themes).

    • Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.
