  Okay, it is not useful when some things from lock to moderators/admin without saying why, they should at least show the reason on the end.  Just because the person has duplicated the post isn't really justification to lock together.  In this case I tend to lock just one with quality no./less/fewer responses (or just not lock if both got sufficient answers to the moment where I'm here).

  I unblocked the thread with the most answers in this case.

  I was due to a family emergency and I just back to work. I tried to update a thread to inform Hussein that his suggestions fixed my issues, but the thread is locked. I've not seen this before. Is there a reason for this?

  Dear experts threads,

  are there side effects if I use the macro "GetPointerTo" and "ReleasePointerTo" inside a thread lock, which is in the code located between CmtGetLock and CmtReleaseLock?

  Phrased differently, what type of sequence is best if I need to edit a TSV in a piece of code that should be accessible only from a single thread at a time:

  1)

  CmtGetLock

  ...

  CmtReleaseLock

  GetPointerTo

  ...

  ReleasePointerTo

  CmtGetLock

  ...

  CmtReleaseLock

  OR

  2)

  GetPointerTo... will block until the thread that holds the pointer releases, then the CmtGetLock() and CmtReleaseLock() calls are not necessary, unless they protect some other variables, in which case sequence 2) is the way to go.

  Remember that if you use multiple thread safe variables or multiple locks thread, and you need to use more than one at any time, each thread must obtain and release pointers / locking in the same order. This avoids the possibility of blocking. In addition, each thread must release the resource as soon as possible.

  Example (using thread locking):

  If (!.) CmtGetLock (lock1))

  If (!.) CmtGetLock (lock2)) / / Get QL2 only when you hold lock1

  ...

  CmtReleaseLock (lock2);  Always communicated QL2 before lock1

  There is a question in the PL/SQL forum, that as is often the case, is not to the point. I asked for more information, and the OP provided. Now, I know what the OP really intends to ask, and I can answer.

But why? Why block this issue and not the other threads of the same buggy? If the lock is due to an offence on the part of the OP, why not just delete?
  
  In short, why hang on to a question without a question? Is it zap and slightly reduce noise in the forum, or unblock and allow for a response.
  
  At the very least, a policy of blocking issues without apparent reason or explanation undermines the role of contributors.

  Follow-up: I noticed that the user has at least another locked thread. So maybe there's something in their behavior that deserves imprisonment? But they have other threads that are still open. So, my main point remains valid: what are the reasons for blocking a thread? Why not just ban the userf and or delete questions?

  Agreed. If I block a thread, then I often put a message to say I'm locking it and the reason why and possibly a link to other threads of the same question if it's because of the duplication of the op.
  It is not that often that I have lock son well.

  I'm having a small problem I could use help with. I'm not really sure what's going on, but I'm having a problem with one of the pages of my site does not when you try to view the page in Firefox. But if I loaded this page in Safari or Chrome, it loads very well.

  The above is a locked thread, so I can't answer but actually a very interesting read.

  I have a NB550D which, in my view, goes really slow. My previous NB100 was much faster than that...

  My question is whether something in the suite of Toshiba is it slows down or if an upgrade of RAM would be the answer. This netbook is great, feels great and has a great write-up, but the reality is that it is slow dissapointingly.

  Each new notebook preinstalled with the original image of Toshiba is quite slow, and in order to make it faster, you need to optimize operating system preinstalled. A lot of useless apps in the background and slowing down the performance of s for laptop.

  So remove all the unnecessary stuff from the system, disable all the stuff you n t need to start running and you will see that your cell phone will work much better.

  And also to disable the automatic updates from Microsoft. Option to activate for you inform of new and available updates, but you can start download and installation when you're not so busy.

  Same thing here for me the breakdown of the processor grid is closed, I wonder how the cpu can be cooled?

  I first noticed the hot air coming out of the computer and then noticed the closed gate and high temperatures with programs like Everest.

  This isn't a ventilation Grill. It is a marker and legal notice.
  You shouldn't be worried that something would be wrong with your laptop ;)

  What kind of progress, if any did you in this upgrade. I relize you don't actually have the Board upgrade of the FE to 4.0 just is it posible to techanically.   Bit of bike G 2nd Gen users in India can be found on 21.11.14 version as the update is unavailable currently. But he did not have before, former users have obtained the 21.11.23 update and they are running 21.11.23. In addition, the news that now sell a 21.11.23 device out of the box. Thus, only a small % of users are blocked on 21.11.14 like me. Please provide us with the update that almost everyone has it.   Users currently on 21.11.14 will be updated to a newer version in the future. We are looking at the update to 21.11.23 due to some users who encountered some problems in the process of updating. Once our assessment is complete we will determine the next steps. You will not be abandoned or stuck on 21.11.14. We just take the appropriate action.
