• Standard user account to log on to the question. Cannot open a session

  Can anyone help. I have an account administrator and standard user for my kids two accounts. Something seems to have gone wrong. I have no problem to logon as administrator, but when my kids are trying to connect to their accounts using their passwords, they receive the message "Welcome" but then immediately the ' log off ' message. If I transform administrators, they can connect without any problems but I'm not as administrators. Can someone help to solve the problem?

  -J' have had no parental control.

  -Remove the standard users and make new ones, did not work.

  -Error checking, did not.

  -Kaspersky Anti-virus complete analysis, did not.

  -Reinstallation of windows, did not.

  I installed the free Ad-Aware Internet security by company Lavasoft. I did a full scan. It found some malware, and I had to reboot the PC. Since then, the problem is completely resolved.

  Have you checked on the KB930494.log that is in the WINDOW to see where the installation is a failure?

  There is no need to send or post the log, because the whole .NET updates installation and OS stability problems are caused by Norton 360.
  Suggest you clean boot Vista as being expected to eliminate all processes and services of Norton to interfere with the installation of the update.
  In fact, you'd be much better off dumping Norton 360 and installing a Windows-compatible antivirus software.
  Then launch their removal tool for Norton ensure all remnants no longer stay or run this tool (AppRemover) as she removes a long list of security products.
  Then download and install one of the free AVs that work well with Windows Vista, Avast or Antivir .

  You can probably repair the OS running sfc/scannow from an elevated command prompt .
  If that can't do the job, then perform an upgrade on the spot .

• Connect to VPN and then log on to the domain by using different credentials.

  I have a laptop user who will take care of various remote sites.

  In XP, you had to first use DUN/VPN and then you can log in the field with different credentials that the VPN end point.

  With Vista if I use the method user to switch on the logon screen and the log in the VPN it also attempts to use these credentials for the domain.  The VPN device has its own separate authentication of the AD.  How to restore the loss of functionality that Vista has?

  I have to first connect to the VPN appliance and authenticate to that I do the network connection.  Then, I need vista to propose real logon to the computer or to the domain.
