Long delay opening PDF documents

Adobe Acrobat "DC" (detail below) takes a very long time to open each PDF file.  After double clicking on a PDF file almost 30 seconds before its opening.  This is not true.   The old player worked fine.  This version of "DC" has trouble.

In addition, it provides a lower way to save the document (a list of already used folders or always the 'Documents' if I select "choose a different folder".  Why not remember the * last * different folder, I chose?  Boring.

Can it remove and replace with the old drive?

Hi Mark,

If Acrobat takes longer to open the PDF documents I'll suggest to the clear temp folder.

For classic open or save dialog, try this:

Open Acrobat

Go in Edition > Preferences > General

Uncheck the option, the online storage see the opening of files & storage Show online when you save files

Click OK

Thank you

Abhishek

  • How to open PDF documents in the same window?

    Prof. Acrobat X / Windows:

How to manage open PDF documents in the same window?

When I open more than a single PDF docs and a second, third,... window opens, each document is opened in a separate window.

In previous versions (Acrobat 8 Prof.), all the documents were opened in the same window.

This is especially useful, because the windows are not spread over the entire desktop, and with ALT + TAB I can change between the documents, if I don't have that one window.

    Thanks for any help.

    This feature has been removed.

  • Cannot open PDF documents/files

I can't open PDF documents.  Had been able to before.  I'm using the latest Mac OS.  Now, have also downloaded the latest Adobe Reader.  Always without success.

Well, the file is now empty. It has always been empty on your computer, or something is empty. It is a serious problem, but at least you know that Adobe Reader is not the problem.

Is - this by chance something that save you when you look at them in Safari? If so, this is how save you. Do not use the menus. Do not use the toolbar of Safari. Use only the Adobe Reader toolbar.

  • I can't open PDF documents

When I click on a PDF file, a new tab opens. It gives me the opportunity to open the document directly or save it - that's what I have set preferences to do. When I try one of these options, however, nothing happens. It doesn't open a new empty tab. My specs are lower. I have run all relevant software updates.

    System: OS X 10.8.2

    Adobe Reader: 10.1.5

    Firefox: 18.0.1

I've seen this problem on other posts and I did some research on the web. I tried the solutions that were provided and worked for other people, however I have noticed they were running old versions of some software, etc. Interestingly, I CAN open PDFs that come to me or that I send through Gmail.

I did the following in accordance with the notice that I saw:

    Erased my downloads list

Tried to disable the NPAPI Adobe plug-in

In my Firefox preferences: I put open Adobe PDF documents. I also tried with preview. None of them worked.

I appreciate any help you can offer.

That worked very well for me.
In the case your application preferences file is corrupted, you could try rename or delete.
Help > troubleshooting information > 'display the folder '.
The file is named mimeTypes.rdf and if you rename or delete, there must be regenerated with a default the next time you restart Firefox.

  • Dell 2335dn Scan Manager opening PDF Documents

We just bought a 2335dn to scan of files in a folder on our server, it works fine (except for the horrible menu interface). We have a problem that after each scan it opens the scanned document on the server that we don't want. We want other people on the network to have access to move/rename the created PDF documents. I checked the Scan Manager software and I can't find any option to do not open the scanned documents. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Nevermind my post.

After looking at the Scan Manager I found under the directory you place in, (location) recording if you click on the Browse button and open the page of the dialog box you will find on the bottom a box to tick you can either open the document after (I think that by default) or not.

Uncheck the open document after scanning, you should be good!

Please provide the exact point of the software & OS installed on your system. Also check if it is there any update available for the software after crossing "" help > check updates "»

Follow this thread to reset the Acrobat preferences:- How to reset preference settings in format Acrobat.

Please try to uninstall & reinstall the application and check for the same thing.

I'm sorry. I think we're tapping on top of the other. Yes, you can probably not right click, but you should try another browser other than Chrome. It is a question of Chrome rather than a problem with the drive. Reader is not used at all.

  • I can't open pdf documents after installing the XI player

Hi I just installed Adobe Reader Xl. I can't now open a PDF - the screen is blank and closes after about 10 seconds. When you use the advocatus it indicates there is a problem of compatibility. I have re-installed, I looked at my options settings internet but still can't solve the problem. Do you have any suggestions? I am running Windows 7 and Norton 360 first Edition software.  Doug cordially

What is your version of reader?  Try to update to 11.0.4.  If this does not help, try...

    • Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, and then double-click Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
    • You can open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try to disable the Protected Mode [Edit |] Preferences | (Improved) security].
    • If Reader opens in itself, try to disable the Safe_mode in the registry; Download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
    • It might even be a malware problem; See http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html
  • Firefox 7 will not open pdf documents. Makes it completely unnecessary given the large number of documents that are in pdf format. How can I get my pdf files to open?

I tried a ton of help from older suggestions. I can't find a cure for this problem for Firefox 7. If I can't make it work, I have no choice but to use the hated IE.

I would like to remove the add-on downloadable in PDF format that is listed in your contact information. (It gets terrible reviews.) Then, it should be possible to install Adobe Reader as default PDF application in Firefox options. And maybe the Adobe PDF plugin will be able to work again.

  • Windows 8 - How to open the PDF documents and start application Menu choices in the Office of current work?

I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 Professional.

A question that I have, is that whenever I try to open a PDF document, it always opens in a new window dedicated, with a totally black background.

Is it possible to open PDF documents on the desktop, so I can see the content PDF, on the same page as all my other apps open?

Under earlier versions of Windows, can I go to the start menu, then select all applications, and they are listed in the form of office, as all my other applications already open.

In Windows 8 Professional, I have not found a way to reproduce this behavior again!

It keeps taking me to a completely different screen.  The one who looks like he could have been created for use with tablets.

I hate this behavior on my regular PC and want to know if there is a way to use the old and classic views.

I don't want to open the application menu in a separate window.

So, two questions: 1) is there a way to open the PDF documents in the current working window?   (2) is there a way to disable the display of screen separate application and return to the old start menu request window, in the current working window?
