  What is your version of reader?  Try to update to 11.0.4.  If this does not help, try...

  • Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, and then double-click Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
  • You can open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try to disable the Protected Mode [Edit |] Preferences | (Improved) security].
  • If Reader opens in itself, try to disable the Safe_mode in the registry; Download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
  • It might even be a malware problem; See http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

  Help > troubleshooting information > 'display the folder '.
  The file is named mimeTypes.rdf and if you rename or delete, there must be regenerated with a default the next time you restart Firefox.

  I have recently switched to Firefox to Google Chrome, and I find that I can't open all PDFs from the web in some way in Firefox. I can't download them and open them in Adobe Reader and I can't preview them in Firefox, or I can use the plugin from Adobe.
