  I have about a dozen in a document master pages, that I converted to Pagemaker. I need to make some changes of trial and error to the page layout > margins. I don't want to make changes repeated available to each master page. I prefer to install a new master page layout and make other children of it. Don't see any way to do this. When I select any existing master page on the table on the Page and go to the menu of the control panel Page, Master's Options is grayed out.

  OK, so the result here is the complaint that the selection of a single page of a multiple page master spread in the Pages panel does not give you the context or flyout menu options 'Master for MASTERNAME.'

  I think that the simpler solution is to rightclick the master name, to the left of the icon (or, in your case, below), rather than the icon. Then, it still works.

  I would call this a bug of cosmetics.

  Yes, master pages names must be exactly the same (case-sensitive and spelling). You choose the document that contains the master page (s) you want to use as source and choose Synchronize master pages in the synchronization options, and then synchronize the book. All the masters with the same name will be updated to match the source file, additional masters who are not present in other files will be added from the source file and page masters not in the source file will be ignored.

  I'm a student just starting to learn FrameMaker, so I apologize if this is an inappropriate question. While I was do pretty well with the program and completed a few fairly important projects, I have not really seen how FrameMaker is used in major projects in the industry.   Import formats is very flexible.

  Brief description of van of synchronization of formats across two or more files by importing them from a master file is excellent. However, it highlights one of the problems with the feature import Formats: it can import that categories of full format - all the variables, the paragraph formats, etc. To selectively import only a part of a category of format, savve a copy of the main template under a new name, then delete everything unwanted in each category of format, save the file, and then use this model custom as the source for the file > import > Formats.

  Google search for terms such as "suppression of the FrameMaker formats", without the quotes, for more details.

  You can also use a custom master file to create new formats and import them into your main template file, or you can keep this custom template independent of the general model and the new formats for import it.

• multiple automatic master page assignments in an InDesign document

  I got quite a request of my client, and I don't know if this is possible. We are working on a multiple-chapter, each chapter as its own document, manual. They want what he delivered under a pdf print and interactive pdf. So far so good.

  Now comes the part that I can't quite wrap my head around. They want different templates for each type of pdf and want only a delivered InDesign file. The masters will be probably different headers (created in Illustrator) and elements assigned. They also talk about the different margins, and I hope that they decide against it.

  I pronounce the InDesign files, but also print and interactive files. The client wants something that she can work well with in the future.

  So, my questions:

  (1) is there an easy way to change the Master pages in a document without changing the presentation? Perhaps using a script any? Is it possible to use a book .indb file to achieve this? I really don't want to have to reassign the master pages

  (2) I found that pages in the documents does not always block for text frames in master pages, especially the first in threaded frames. Any ideas why this happens? When I put the text to the second, third, fourth etc pages they lock to the master. This is the first image I have trouble with. So if I can't solve this problem, so I have to also make sure that all text blocks are always aligned correctly.

  I don't know exactly what's there for tutorials, but I suspect that if do a search of conditional text in InDesign you'll find more than one.

  My workflow has not yet necessary to alternative layouts (come close once on a brochure for page American and European sizes, but he managed with two files because the customer was still CS3 and did not want to update), but I probably strongly consider if the customer insists on two layouts. If everything that they change the graphic and you use conditional text you can produce one, change the conditions and the other output. There is no move to do something manual along the line here.

  I created a flowing form and for some reason I have a blank Master Page (Page 1) which is actually in the document as page 3, I can't move, delete or copy anything on and I can not get rid of this page.  I tried to set it as hidden or inactive and nothing works.  It is quite a complex shape (8 pages long) and I tried to copy the form, page-by-page to a new document, but because she is "sunk", he did not copy and paste in the correct format.

  Sounds like a problem of paging with your layout.

  Mind you, a master page is used as a background for other pages.

  There is probably a regular page that created a junk page break or you have set the paging of a page 'go to page' settings or more.

  5 pages is located in your Applications folder.

  Pages ' 08 is located in your Applications/iWork ' 08 folder.

  If you open your old documents Pages ' 08 with 5 Pages it will convert and if not damage, remove a large number of useful features.

  You will probably regret upgrading to 5 Pages which Apple has made extremely inconsistent and keeps changing its file format.

  Well guys, today as the author of the book I have says RIP Pages and I am looking for different processor. This coz really "filled my heart,' I've got a few days before the date of the release of the book.

  Is this true? The installer inside the spacing of cant pages? OK I tried to model in LibreOffice and opened in Pages - surpriiiise, Pages unfortunately unable to display this type of pitch? Oh... my... God...

  So I do not have the chance to make Pages more, inside the spacing kill my workflow and questions to copy paste images of pages of quality.

  You know, I love coz written Pages tru his smooth, flexible, fast and easy, I love the cropping of the images, I love how fonts - look like, but I think that Pages need really updated for serious work... not only this optimizations for that freaking Sync compatible iOS - Finally, I don't know many people who use pages on iOS.

  LibreOffice is intentionally written as a product of replacement of MS Office of superset. It has facing pages, related executives, and the possibility of placing several sections within these frameworks. Pages ' 09 v4.3 was the last version of Pages in support of face-to-face and related areas of text pages. Any rejection of Pages v5 (2 years and above) has these capabilities. I can put on a single page in Pages v5.6.1 that looks like one of your pages, but cannot provide the flow of documents in this format, because it is not supported.

  I have a 300 page document on Master Page A with the exception of a single page in which I asked Master Page B. At one point the ENTIRE DOCUMENT itself copied on Master Page B so that the system reports now of 600 pages. I tried to delete the Master page B, but it does not help.   I'm working on a magazine layout, which has the page number and month located downstairs outside the corner of each page (pretty standard). Of course, I have this set up on the master spread. So far whenever I have to remove these items on a page of my document I was able to Ctrl + Shift + click and delete.   Check that the master page element is not set to prevent substitute also. Go to the main spread and select the folio of problem, choose Pages > Master Pages... and make sure that allow point Master overrides on selection is checked. MP articles that are protected do not have the framework dotted on the pages when show the contours of the block is selected.

  And make sure that you have not inadvertently duplicated the folio on the page or master page.
