look of comic strip

In cs4 how can you turn your photo next animation/cartoon. Y at - it software that can be used.

Ok.  It's Photoshop.  No third party plug-ins.

I'll start with this image of my 'Dave Hill is my hero' days (2008)

Copy the layer a couple of times, (better safe than sorry).

There is a little too much detail here, who's going to dirty our cartoon look, so use the Camera RAW filter and get more negative clarity in order to reduce the detail on the bottom layer of most.  -About 40 gets rid of most of freckles and texture in his hoodie.

Copy this layer again (because it is clean) and run the filter > esthetics > find edges.

We only need the art of the line, so we need to get rid of most of the grey scale.  Rather than using levels or curves, which will give a result thud. Select the brush and set its blending mode to overlay in the options bar.  White paint to reduce light and dark tones to black.  I managed to get this.

Define layer above multiply (we want only that blacks)

Now use the Gallery of filter > artistic > cutting on our smooth color layer.  (I used 8, 4, 3)

With the the linework layer on you look at something like that, which is a bit dark, flat and has no color

Then add a Vibrance layer to enhance the color and curves to brighten and make a little sharper and more you get close

Or you can clean it up a bit

  • Comic - Strip required double size on each page

    I have a pdf of a 26-page comic.  Each page is about 900 pixels wide.  I need to change the document so that each page is more than 1800 pixels wide (and proportional to the length changes too).  I can't understand how to do this.

    Let me clarify by saying that I mean the images on each page.  Images (each one a page of comics) are about 900 px wide now and I need to increase it to 1800 px in width with changes in proportion to the length.  The seller, I work with only accepts art if it is minimum 1800 px on the smaller side.

    Please notify.  Thank you!

    The first thing that I wonder if you have a way to get the original for the comic files. You can resize those and convert them to PDF. If the work was on paper, you can rescan them to the appropriate pixel size. But if not, here's the next step. I don't like especially if you use the screen tones, but here goes.

    Migration in Photoshop increases the pixel dimensions, but the PS has to "guess" the detail. This may seem a bit blurry, but you can try.

    Use Adobe Acrobat to extract all pages in .tiff files, and then batch resize in Photoshop to your specified pixel size, then combine them into a pdf file. You have access to Acrobat? You can download a free 30 day trial for this work.

    You can also talk to your printer on how best to do this. They might be able to suggest something.

    because in RGB color mode represents fire. all colors are red, green and blue. in CMYK mode, it represents the inks. This black can consist of a single black ink or a combination of the other inks. in your case, it seems as if it was only in black.

  • Colorization of black and white comics

    I have scans of pages of comics in black and white

    that I'd like to colorize.

    How can I do this with Photoshop Elements?

    (I, colleagues, I must first make transparent white parts)

    then add a layer for coloring behind the

    black and white layer. "But how?)

    (At the moment I use version 6.0 for Mac).

    Thank you.

    I'm a big fan of blending modes to do this. All you really need to know is that Multiply blending mode makes drop white.

    1. click on background comic lock and drag it to the trash CAN... simply release the mouse button when you reach the trash. I like to do it this way because there is no dialogue for good.

    2. create a fill layer with the background color solid color desired and slide it under your cartoon illustration. (I like to use for the solid color fill adjustment layers because they are flexible and I quickly change my color if I change my mind something.) This does mean that you can't just create an empty layer and fill it with the color... or works the other way. Let this layer in Normal blending mode; 100% opacity.

    3. change the blending mode of the layer of your illustration comic to multiply; 100% opacity.

    4. under your illustration add an adjustment layer of filling of solid color for each item that you want to paint. Let in Normal blending mode adjustment layers; Opacity 100%. Fill your black mask to hide the effect of solid color fill. Take the Brush tool and use white paint into the mask to colorize point.  Each of them that are under your comic strip illustration will be blocked by your black lines. Each layer will block the layer below, because they are each in Normal blending mode. (The exception is the black outline that is placed in blending mode multiply.)

    Note: Alternatively, you can create an empty layer and paint in your color. As with the solid color fill layers, leave it in Normal blending mode; 100% opacity.

    5. If you want something to paint on the black lines... like fixing the gaps or adding things... place these layers above your line art, which is in merger mode multiply. Let these layers in a mixture Normal mode 100% opacity.

    Note: in my example I lowered my opacity less than 100% for the single point... the lip lines. This layer, I had to taste that I tried to get my lines to match the lines of the demarcation line in the face.

    Below shows background color will not affect the result that you use the normal blending mode for each layer coloring and multiply blending mode for drawing to the line itself. If you had painted them in a different blending mode then the base color (background) would have been a factor.

    I used a piece of an image of the Big Box of Art 350 000 Hemera Images... now owned by Jupiter Media... for example. I thought I'd better add that since Jupiter Media owns the copyright of this illustration.

    Above shows my layers palette.

    All the layers except the linework are Normal blending mode. Line drawing is in merger mode multiply. All the layers except the outline of the lips (black) are set to 100% opacity. Are items I want to address the line drawing above the dividing line. I want to show under the line items are found under the line drawing. A good example is the layer of teeth Add. The teeth are not in the original comics. To get your teeth white to appear, they should be located on the line original line drawing. The layer that contains the fill color is one that I forgot to change. As he is black, it is a sort of correction of the line I've done freehand.

    I have not used any fill color for the necklace and the dress in my example to show how the white falls when you place a black and white linework in blending mode multiply.

  • Images are fully displayed when down too large-black

    Hey,.

    I have this recurring problem of the image display. Basically the top of the image is loaded just fine, but at some point, it only shows black.
    This happens only on extremely long images - usually 9gag messages / reddit picture messages.

    Here's a sample image that does not load correctly. -~ 800 x 9200 -.
    http://i.imgur.com/SZrkxom.PNG
    Unfortunately, I can't upload a photo on your website, even after several reductions in size. -There is definitely a problem there too if I can't download a JPEG of less than 50 KB.

    Basically, my browser cannot display the last 2 panels of the comic strip. The image is not cropped, but the last 2 panels are blackened.

    The image looks the same for me on Windows 7 in Firefox and Chrome.

    In the case where there is an incompatibility between Firefox and your software driver graphics card/chipset, could test you with the use of Firefox hardware acceleration disabled? You can set that in the Options dialog box:

    "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced

    In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

    This takes effect the next time you exit Firefox and start it again. Any difference?

    For later use, Firefox for Windows has long had problems with either larger or wider than 36 000 pixels images. This isn't the issue.

  • TCP Hijack on IDS signature

    Someone has a lot of experience with the 'TCP Hijack' signature on the IDS sensors? I checked the NSDB and docs IDS for the engine in question, but neither go into details on how to determine if alerts are false or true positives.

    Any comments would be much appreciated.

    Thank you very much

    Matt

    Under the version of Cisco IDS 3.x, Hamid 3250 only looked at a few ports (TCP 21, 23, 513 and 514, if I remember correctly).

    With the introduction of version 4.x, the signature was no longer limited to these ports. Thus, at least here, we were see a large number of "false positives" involving the web proxy traffic and NetBIOS traffic. BTW, I have no idea if the signature has been coupled to the ports under version 5.x (someone?).

    The logic that we apply to all alarm hamid 3250 we see here is based on two factors: intent and feasibility.

    Although it is theoretically possible to divert most oriented session TCP connections between a client and a server, there are some that simply make no sense.

    If you take alarms involving TCP port 80, what would be the point to divert someone connecting to a web server? Anything sensitive that someone could do this using a browser is done via HTTPS (SSL/TLS aka), so Cryptography will eliminate the threat of hijacking it. So now you re left with web access unsecure. what you are more likely to find if divert you this? Someone looking at the comic strip Dilbert, or something as I imagine... I think you will agree that, therefore, there is no intention at all.

    As with any attack of diversion, the feasibility is quite low. Most of these attacks requires that the hijacker be in the same domain as the intended victim. That being said, it goes without saying that you aren t also see cache poisoning attacks ARP or TCP Syn flooding (or another DoS attack against the victim), you aren t see a valid hijack alarm. Of course, the problem here is that these activities usually occur in an area that is not supervised by a NIDS, then you will need other corroborating data to see (HIDS/NNIDS, router logs).

    In all cases, these alarms are not very useful on their own. When they become valuable, in my opinion, is when they appear in concert with other alarms (e.g. Hamid 7105 - imbalance of ARP requests).

    I hope this helps.

  • Name of the technique of "boiling down sketches" + resources?

    I'm looking for: 1) namefor a certain art/design techniqueand 2 /terminology) resources to help develop the technique.

    I want to be able to create graphic images by: a) Google search for photographs of objects such as animals, structures, trinkets, tools, etc., b) mentally boiling down the concept of the object to its Visual essence, c) drawing on paper than the representation of the object, d) convert this sketch to a vector to be digitally refined and finalized object (, simplified and ending e) with a final result that resembles the 'simple' graphs as described, shapes, silhouettes, icons - type chart located in the logos, album covers, etc. (maybe in a few years, I'll shoot for the more ambitious designs, but not today.) )

    The technique that I write especially is the combination of b) + c) above, which I shall call a technical 'sketch of boiling down'. I am confident in my ability to manage a) + d).

    I think it has an official name in the world of the art/design for this technique of "boiling down sketches", but I have been unable to identify it with the research. Also, I saw a number of Lynda.com courses on drawing and illustration, and as big as they are, none of them seem to specifically cover the How-to of this technique of "boiling down sketches".

    1) which is the term for this technique of, so that I can find some practical information about this? Any other relevant search keywords would be appreciated also.

    2) what how-to resources for the development of this technique that you would recommend? (Videos, if possible, that my brain seems to process statement better art actually look at how it's done in real time).

    I have to emphasize two points:

    (1) I spent half a day to myself education on copyright law which concerns photographs. I am aware that convert a photo vector or tracing it or "melting" otherwise a derivative work off the coast of photography is a violation of the copyright of the creator. I have no intend to do any of those things. I am also aware that I can go online and license images that might meet my criteria. However, my intention is to avoid the right to author and licensing complications while creating the images myself and own copyright outright.

    (2) I am brand new in the world of art and graphic design. My personal development of this skill will be used for my own personal projects. Then, if it is inappropriate to post a question like this in this forum Illustrator, please kindly direct me to a more appropriate place. I started here because it seemed the location with the highest probability to give rise to a professional answer.

    Thank you.

    This page has many different styles of illustration. The more I see are silhouettes, as well as comic strips and cartoons, and there everything pop, retro pictogram. There are many courses in the illustration, that you will find at the Art Institutes or any college with a degree in design.

  • I am trying to create a slideshow - like thing.

    My name is Jacob Luther, and I'm doing my first website I ever made from scratch. The site is dedicated to and designed to promote a comic strip that I do, so I guess you could say I do a webcomic. I'm still learning how to use Adobe Muse that I create this site, so I'm not quite sure if I want to do is possible. I want to do is create something similar to a slide show to display my daily comic strip, but do it where you can not only by a click on a button to access the BD previous as well as a button to go to the next comic, but also be able to click a "calendar" button so that you can select a particular day on a calendar thumbnail to go to the comics of the day. Is it still possible with Muse? Help, please.

    The calendar thing is not possible. You can easily create something that looks like a calendar and a link to pages with corresponding comics well.

  • Licenses Adobe Stock - changes

    First my apologies for another question regarding the use of the standard license images - I know there were a few, but I can't find the precise answer, that I need in previous posts or in the additional terms of Adobe Stock.

    I am struggling to understand the relationship between paragraphs 2.2 and 3.4, they do not seem to be fully in line.

    My use case is imagery to be used in the creation of the independent creator-owned comics. Mainly using stock as background images. For example, a scene may involve two characters interact outside the White House. Instead of the White House to draw, I propose to take a stock image, and then use Photoshop to change this option (for the Blur Gaussian example, then posterise) to produce an image derived with a look and feel consistent with the artwork of foreground drawn comic. Sometimes in a sign the stock image might be the only element in the Panel, but it is rare and in which case again the image would be strongly changed for a preview of the comic strip.

    From my reading of 3.4 a article I this would be acceptable because the resulting image is substantially changed, and I would not seek to distribute the original media. Of obviously under paragraph (c) dictates that I can't reproduce any image over 500 000 times, but this isn't a problem I would never meet. However, the subsection paragraph 2.2 (b) seems to prevent this without an extended license (which does not exist).

    My apologies once again for a question very similar to many others out there, but I think t & c courses are not useful. I also note that the information on the site Web Adobe Stock says:

    «Adobe Stock is a new service that gives access to 40 million quality organized of royalty-free images, illustrations and vector graphics for all their creative projects of designers and businesses.»

    Which seems not be accurate as there are no licenses for the use of the words "all their creative projects" seems a little misleading. I understand perfectly that you would need a license to resell the stock image or add it to a content database that you want to broadcast in the original form for re - use. And I admit there are limits that show approval by the owner of the copyright of the activities in the paragraph of section 3.1 (g), but for now what falls in the clause 2.2 rather than 2.1 seems very restrictive for creative projects. Maybe I'm wrong, but I've been on this a few times and I fight.

    Can anyone tell if my use case is permitted under Standard licenses?

    Martin

    Images licenses are currently available through Fotolio.

  • Buttons work only once or twice

    Hi guys, I'm still new to Flash and I really need help. Here is the story:

    so I do a simple digital comics right now, that shows one or two signs/pictures/drawings at a time with only 3 buttons to navigate (a next button, an exit button and a page selection button). Here is some info:

    -J' use CS6

    -J' I use simple tweenings for each photo (fade in/out, queries, etc.)

    -J' have it will publish in 2 formats, .exe and .apk for android

    -J' have 7 scenes, 1-6 for the main comic and scene 7 for the selection menu of page (within a clip)

    -I only use video clips of 2, one for the intro animation and another for page selection menu I mentioned above

    -because I'm still a noob, I always use excerpts of code (sorry)

    -J' I mostly only use these code snippets: stop at this image, click here to go to frame and to play, click here to go on stage and play.

    -for the exit button, I use this code:

    button_e.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_MouseClickHandler);

    function fl_MouseClickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void

    {

    fscommand ("QUIT");

    --utiliser use for the next button, copy the following code:

    button_1.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToGoToAndPlayFromFrame_3);

    function fl_ClickToGoToAndPlayFromFrame_3(event:MouseEvent):void

    {

    gotoAndPlay (frame number);

    }

    for the page selection button, I use this code:

    b_page.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToGoToScene_40);

    function fl_ClickToGoToScene_40(event:MouseEvent):void

    {

    MovieClip (this.root) .gotoAndPlay (1, "scene 7");

    }

    Now, here's the problem:

    The page selection button worked fine initially. Then I click on the next button several times (lets say, from page 1, stage 1, I clicked the next button several times until I got to page 6, scene 2). Then I click the page selection button that opened the clip. Inside of this video clip is several buttons another, each of them takes me on different pages. For example, I clicked on a button linked to page 7 (inside the scene 2). Furthermore, the code goes like this:

    b_7.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToGoToScene_3);

    function fl_ClickToGoToScene_3(event:MouseEvent):void

    {

    MovieClip (this.root) .gotoAndPlay (500, "Scène 2");

    }

    Still no problem detected. Then I continue to click the next button to read the rest of the comic strip. At this point, the page selection button (and the exit button) has stopped working. Clicked on it so many times and nothing happened. So, just like what I wrote in the title, it does only once or twice.

    Any suggestions?  (I wanted to download the .fla so you guys can take a look, but the size is too much )

    Screenshot:

    http://S25.postimg.org/azarwqvzj/screenie.jpg

    Thank you!

    put the button of your first scene on its own layer at the beginning of the stage and set its name.  extend his chronology up to the end of the scene.  test.  all the problems?

    If not, add additional keyframes in the layer of the button according to the needs of your project, making sure NOT to remove the button no keyframes.  test.  all the problems?

    If this is not the case, do the same for the other buttons in the other scenes.

    If you want your button to NOT appear in some frameworks do NOT for this key frame.  set its visible property to false or using removeChild.

He says he's in the menu of brush or the brush palette, both of which are not in photoshop elements 8. I've looked everywhere I could and not luck! It is my only hope! Help, please!

    Reload/reboot of the elements did not help, either.

    On the options bar for the Brush tool, upper-left, there is a small triangle. Click on that, then the reset tool. If that fixed it, reset preferences:

    Press and hold the keys Alt + Ctrl + Shift (Windows) or Option + command + shift (Mac OS)
