BIOS version 1.0.18 (latest version) the SSD works really well, giving the startup time much better than with the previous hard disk. However, I am under IDE and AHCI is not enabled. 1. it will make much difference to the performance of the SSD if I'd be able to get the AHCI running on my system? 2. If so, how can I get the AHCI to work? Thanks for your help!

  I have improved the power supply on an Inspiron 530 with an Antec 550 watt modular power supply with no problems.  Just be sure to buy a power supply of standard size, and you should have no problem.

It is not installed first, other drivers will not install correctly. Make a list of your hardware Manager devices to check that you actually material.   I bought a Dell Inspiron 530 in October 2008 (Service tag <> NOTE from the ADMIN: Service tag removed by privacy policy >) and I would like to upgrade the processor. My current processor is an Intel Celeron 450 2.20 GHz. I think that my motherboard is a Foxconn G33M02. (But I am not sure, and I would like to confirm that, so that I don't get an incompatible cpu.)

  What would be a good upgrade from the processor that I can put in my current motherboard? I feel that my current Celeron 450 is a uniprocessor processor, and I would trade out for an important and remarkable improvement with more hearts (at reasonable cost) while keeping the same motherboard.

  I've already updated the PSU for a 460 Watt PSU and have also upgraded the video card. Looking for a good upgrade from the processor. I think I also need to update my bios of motherboard.
