  To this old laptop models all works a little different than new models. You now have a package that contains all the necessary stuff for the FN feature.
  On old books as your Satellite 5200, you need to install several different tools to achieve this functionality of FN, no brightness adjustment only.

  So to make all this easier I recommend you to check the building for Satellite 5200 instructions and install all missing things. Please follow the order of installation.
