Lost images, sides & editing in Lightroom 4.1

Hi all

Opening of Lightroom 4.1 apparently began about what it was a few months and so I lost all the pictures, I was working on. On re-import them in Lightroom, this took place quickly as if maybe they are highlighted, but all the sides and the changes remained lost. Do you know if it is possible to recover these?

Thank you

J

Look at the file-menu > open recent element. You can find a few other catalogs

it.

Or, search your hard drives for the Lightroom (extension .lrcat) catalog

files. Open them all, one by one, to see which is the right catalog.

  • LR5: Why can't import my photos again after use for editing in Lightroom?

    Hello!

A week ago I just changed 800 photos from my last vacation in Lightroom 5.2. After have exported them, I noticed that I don't check the quality parameters for export, so I tried to import the files of origin again.

And this is where I have questions right now. I can not open them more. If they are available, they are shaded in grey and are not selectable:

    not selectable.JPG

To return to the original holiday file, it seems to me that it is only possible to import these photos I did not choose to edit in Lightroom before:

    onlysome.JPG

I tested other original files of photos I've already edited in Lightroom and they work. It is only on these holiday photos. The export, images holiday edition appear in Lightroom to import. It seems that Lightroom has problems with the original that has been imported to Lightroom once files. An update to 5.6 LR did not help. Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Patrick

You don't re - import photos into Lightroom. There is no need to do it and it would only cause problems.

For those photos that you can not import, you can just find them in the library Module and continue to use (if you want to export again in different settings, then you export from the existing photo in the library module)

I have a problem with to get a picture of Lightroom 4 in 11 Photoshop elements for mounting on an iMAC.   I select 'Edit in Photoshop Elements' and PES appears, but the image does not work.  A TIFF image is created in LR4 but is not found in the PSE.  Suggestions?

  • I need more space of the image during editing

My old version died, I bought 10 items.  I just change and play with photos, nothing fancy.  I keep entertained me on long flights.  E10 has a zone along the bottom and the right side I want to minimize, and so I have a larger image when editing photos.  I don't need all that 'help '.  How can I reduce these two areas so I can see my pictures on my small laptop screen?  Thanks much for any help.

To reduce the space occupied on the right side by the right panel, see this discussion:

Basically, if you're referring to the location of the project, simply double-click its title tab to minimize.

    Microsoft Digital Imaging Anniversary Edition

I have problems with digital imaging.  Never been wrong before, so I'm puzzled!  Recently added pix from CD to digital photo Image file picked up but did not display the photos on the page of digital image library - they come just under the icon standard w/o a view of the pix.  I tried to delete these files where the pix would not come to the top of the digital image.  Digital image would not remove them.  I deleted the pix of the computer files.  Digital image still would not remove the files in the library. I went into the Control Panel, I removed & reinstalled the Digital Image, but all files keep coming back.  Digital Imaging tells me I have 4000 photos stored there!  If I do, where are they?  I can't find them!   Is there something else I can do?

I use Windows XP.  I've seen Info for Vista, but I need it for XP.

  • How to duplicate the same image side by side with automation

I need to create sets - many photos, I want to do it in batch or automated because it is a lot too. I need to reproduce the same image next, basically to make the beds twin-packs. Can someone help me please?

If I understand what you're trying to do it right, then it could work. It is very similar to my previous post, but now uses a little action that I created.

    (1) first, you need to action that I downloaded here

    DupSideBySide.atn - box

    (2) you then need to install the action. On the keyboard, press alt + F9 or option + F9 on a Mac to open the Panel actions. I always identify any existing action in the Panel. This does not remove them but clears the mess in the Panel shares. Then click «Clear all actions» Later, in order to restore the default actions just click on 'reset actions.

    (3) in the Panel shares will now be empty. Click the icon in the upper right and select "load actions".

A dialog box opens and all you have to do is drag the action you just downloaded in this dialog box, highlight it and press load down.

    (4) you should see action in the Panel shares.

    (5) with the action in place start "image processor".

    (6) fill out the dialog box as needed. I opted to save jpeg, psd and tiff, but action does not care what kind of file selected. There is also no need to use the same folder names and places as I used it because they are not hard coded in the action. I created a folder named duplication on the office, which contains a subfolder called sidebyside but once again the subfolder is optional. The big difference here is the 'perform action' box and my DupeSideBySide action is selected, as shown below.

    (7) now, press the run button and it must duplicate and place next to all the images in the folder "duplication". The spacing between the images side by side is coded in the action are the borders hard, but I'm sure you can work out how to change them if necessary.

  • Images side by side

My site is in the lay-out of Thomas and I just want to put two images side by side in a project. They are automatically placed one after the other, which is great for the view, but a bit of a pain when it comes to link the images to separate Web sites.
Is it possible to place them side by side and if yes: how?

    See you soon,.

  • Lost image structure

    Hi all

I accidentally deleted the original structure of my Lightroom images files so now Lightroom cannot find any image. I still have all my images, but they are in a different structure. I also have a Lightroom Catalog backup file.

Is it possible that Lightroom can put all those images in my catalog structure? I could do it by hand, but there is a lot of work...

    Thank you

I would like to stress that Lightroom does backups of your images. LR does not save the images anywhere. You can export images from LR.

You say that you remove the structure of files of your images, and I assume that all your images. If you did outside LR then all of them must be in either the bin, on a Mac, or the Recycle Bin, Windows. You can restore one of these two places, according to the OS you use, to the original location. That's if you didn't not empty the Recycle Bin or the trash.

If you did empty the garbage/trash and you do not have a backup of these images, I am sorry to say that they are left.

Is it possible to transfer an image from Photoshop to Lightroom?

    Hi Kirton

There is no option in Photoshop that will take you to Lightroom.

You can save the image, then open with Lightroom

If you save the image to Photoshop in the same folder where the image is located in your catalog

Then Lightroom wil add it automatically to the addition of catalog "-change" suffix in the name of the image. This is what we call return
