Lost my webworks Simulator!

Hey all,.

I use the plug-in for visual studio, and for the last 3 weeks the Simulator has worked very well. Now I got problems to debug a widget and the Simulator does not. The cause was using underscore in the name.

But now the charges on my bar Simulator task but does not show. I rebooted and tried simulator versions. I even went to the test application in the videos here BlackBerry.com. (worked before)

I right click on the Simulator on the taskbar and it allows me to choose a size or move, but it does place the cursor on the top left screen and transforms the cursor arrow in four cross.

Clues?

Thanks Rick

The problem is that the Simulator is trying to display the main screen. I saw this happen if you change the screen resolution.

-Right-click on the Simulator in the taskbar

-Select move

-Then use your keyboard arrows to reintegrate the Simulator view

  • Update lost with my Simulator

I've been using the 7290 & the default Simulator. I have the 4.1.0.185 JDE. Help on the Simulator is: 2.3.0.92.

Everything works fine. I gathered data user a summer happy with screens. All of a sudden, I started getting the following:

    Output net_rim_sdk_simulationSB (72)
    From TideTableTesting
    TideTableTesting (95) started
    TideTableTesting (95) foreground

    Thank you guys!

I blew it! I finally noticed that my last line of code has been removed (pushScreen (mainScreen)

  • WebWorks 2.0 - 2.1 BlackBerry device Simulator & Z10

    Hi BlackberryDev,

    Please someone knows the ***@Media queries * to target Blackberry 10 platforms i.e. Z10, Z30, and Q10

More Blackberry 10 Simulator 2.1 sizes are NOT ACCURATE...

I have a Z10 - camera inside the web Inspector in my Webworks 2.0 application... I check window.innerWidth and window.innerHeight ... The result I got from the Simulator is different than the device... I do not understand WHY

CSS my app looks good on the device, but the CSS is disabled by 40px on the Simulator...

I'm sticking with the CSS I used for the device... but the problem is that I have to create a different CSS to the Q10 and Z30... So I need a precision @ Media query that I can use to target Q10 and Z30

I don't want to use any library such as JQMobile or BBUI... I want to use pure CSS that I'm comfortable with.

    Thanks in advance.

The dimensions of the display of these devices include (height x width):

    • Z10 - 1280 x 768
    • Z30 - 1280 x 720
    • Q10 - 720 x 720

Device for these pixel ratio is 2.2437500953674316, which means that the following media queries should provide what you need:

  • Webworks Blackberry application does not not remote page on Simulator

My application Blackberry Webworks a problem opening a remote page when testing it in a Blackberry Simulator (I tried Verizon 9630, 9700-ATT, 9860-Asia). Whenever I try to open a remote page in my application webworks, the application crashes, and after a while, I get a white screen with the error error 104 Eception App: InterruptedIOException and when I click on continue a dialog message box comes up with the message Local connection timed out after ~ 120000. If I open this URL in the browser of the Simulator, it opens right away. What I don't know, this is why it does not open in the webworks app.

Now the funny part is, if I load the same webworks app in my blackberry device, it works perfectly. It opens the remote page immediately. I don't know why its not working in a simulator.

I have the config.xml file properly configured with the remote url defined in the element of access:

    http://sample-remote-server.com/" subdomains="true" />

I will be very happy if someone can spare their time to help me.

    Thanks in advance.

    How to make the MDS?

If you are using eclipse, see this thread:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Web-and-WebWorks-development/cannot-connect-to-Internet/TD-p/...

But if you don't use eclipse or just command-line bbwp, try to find the mds file in your path of Blackberry Webworks (usually in \Program Files\Research in Motion\BlackBerry Widget Packager\mds),

After searching for the folder, find the run.bat file, then run it.

  • PlayBook Simulator included in the SDK WebWorks for Mac does not start

Hi, I downloaded and installed the WebWorks BlackBerry SDK for Tablet OS for Mac from http://us.blackberry.com/developers/tablet/webworks.jsp . I have VMWare Fusion installed 3.1.2. I used the beta3 .iso Installer to create a virtual machine, and it worked very well. Open the bbwp/blackberry-tablet-sdk/BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator-1.0.1/BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator.vmx file load VMWare Fusion and adds a virtual machine named "BlackBerry PlayBook Simulator" in my VM library. When I try to 'turned on' virtual machine, nothing happens. The power seems to be on for two seconds and turns off the virtual machine. I can't find all the lines from log in Console.app. the 'Virtual Machine'-> 'Force Start Up' menu is no help either. I download the stand-alone "BlackBerry PlayBook Simulator for Mac", that is also marked v1.0.1 but I am not optimistic if it is delivered as a set of folders VMware. Please do not make me run the PlayBook Simulator in a virtual Windows XP machine!

    Hi jaschroe,

Try to manually copy the folder BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator - 1.0.1 to another location on your Mac and then try to open this copy of the VMX file in VMware Fusion. (No need to re - install).

  • WebWorks widget navigation mode work only not in ripple or Phone Simulator

Hi, this is my first Bb Widget/WebWorks app, and I am currently having problems with the navigation mode. Basically, it does not ripple, or in the simulator of v6.0 9700 device or on a real device of 9700 after packaging and signing of the package.

I have read the documentation on the official website of WebWorks on the use of navigation mode:

    http://devBlog.BlackBerry.com/2010/05/BlackBerry-widget-navigation-mode/

    https://bdsc.webapps.BlackBerry.com/HTML5/documentation/ww_developing/rim_navigation_element_1582456...

    https://bdsc.webapps.BlackBerry.com/HTML5/documentation/ww_developing/using_the_navigation_mode_1866...

I find these forums and found a how to on a policy which could have disabled Javascript on the phone, but my camera is not a policy, and it is not connected to a corporate server.

Here are the contents of the config.xml file.

    http://www.w3.org/ns/widgets ".

The application uses nine HTML files, including the file index.html. Here is an excerpt of the file index.html.

To check widget works, I have included this javascript call to display the name of the application from the config.xml file, and when the page appears in the training, the Simulator or on the device, the name of the application appears.

The index.html page provides a list of items that have a link to the other pages. Here is a sample of some of the links. According to the documentation of WebWorks, the element will automatically receive focus when the user navigates to the screen in the application. Just to be safe, I've added option, x-blackberry-Focus = "true" to some of the links to try to force the focus navigation, but it does not work.

    AAA

    BBB

    CCC

Essentially, when the application loads in Wellington, I can navigate the application because the training allows me to use the mouse pointer in Windows to control what is on the screen of the virtual device.

When I package, sign and load the application on the Simulator, the Windows mouse pointer is of no use in the Simulator, so at the start of my application, I try to use the cursor keys to navigate through the page, but the elements do not receive focus. Of course, the cursor keys work in the Simulator, because they move the cursor autour, let me choose the icons etc.

The only way I can get a pointer to appear in my app is when I press the menu button on the simulated phone and choose the Select option, which then displays a text on-screen cursor, and then moving the trackpad, the cursor becomes a pointer that I can move and then click a link properly following the href attribute.

I loaded the application signed on my device and the behavior is exactly the same with the Simulator. I must be doing something wrong because I searched with Google and have not been able to find similar experiences. My config.xml file is missing a value?

I'm sorry, I should have said something too. Ripple itself does emule not the trackpad navigation. So, you won't see focus moving in your content when you try to interact with the trackpad (it does nothing).

However the Simulator certainly should allow you to test this feature.

Is the snippet of code provided here work for you?

  • HOWTO debug Webworks on VMWare Dev Alpha Simulator?

    Hello

I'm developing an application Webworks. I can't use training Simulator because it does not implement 'cards' and does not implement the API pim.contacts.

I have no device Dev Alpha, so I use the VMWare of the Q10 Simulator.

    My question is:

-can I somehow debug the webworks app?

-I can at least see the console.log output somewhere? How?

-Is taken in charge for BB10? : http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Web-and-WebWorks-Development/How-to-debug-BlackBerry-web-appl...

-can I change my javascript and HTML without repackaging in ripple or command line. I'm changing code, repackaging, hoping for the best. It is not productive, and feels like the glacial period.

    Thank you

    Hi escay,.

    1. "I can somehow debug the application of webworks. Yes, wrap it with the - d option. Your Simulator will have an IP address in the lower corner. You should be able to connect to the Web Inspector via : 1337 and see your pages.

    2. "I can at least see the output somewhere console.log? «»» How? "Yes, you can see the console Web Inspector . After following the steps above.

    3. Yes, you can use web Inspector. Your device must be in debug mode and your application packed with - d.

    4. Yes, you can. Direct your config.xml to your local Web server. This will pull the content of the server application and allow you to be updated on the fly. All you have to do is to hit refresh, .

    Hope this information helps.

  • BlackBerry Webworks App does not work on the Simulator after conditioning

Hi everyone, I ' ve developed a webworks app and everything works fine on the emulator ripple, but when I load it on the Blackberry (9860 and 9930) Simulator... it loads successfully (I can see the icon, etc.), but when I open it, appears only a WHITE SCREEN...!

I thought it was the Blackberry Simulator, so I changed it (does not work)

I thought it was my application, so I leave my fair "index.html" with a BLACK background (does not work)

the Validation of my config.xml file is fine, and I have not any idea on how to solve this problem!

    Help please, thank you

    http://mundourbanohn.com/Simulator1.jpg

Hello, thanks for people, but I already solved this problem, I had a div with POSITION: FIXED; and apparently WebWorks does not support this CSS property, so I removed it and everything works fine. Thanks in any case. Concerning

Sound Windows not listed on Microsoft 7 compatibility Centre, but given its age you are unsure it will work fully, or not at all. A quick search on Google shows that some people have had limited success. You can try Compatibility Mode to see if that helps:

  • web deployment and webworks file .bar failure of playbook simulator

    Hi web / forum webworks

I just went through the tutorial Hello World js webworks. A few think to note, I'm using linux, so I'm not really using ripple, his failure as a wildfire for me here. Wine does not help.

I was able to build my program using a port of linux to webworks and generate what appears to be a file .bar valid. Now when to deploy blackberry launch I get this result:

I don't know what is 533 failure, it seems to be related to the version of the system, but since I built it based on the webworks js it should work on all devices right?

    Help, please.

Thanks a lot for your help. Once, I knew that this was the problem I was able to google my way around and fix it.

Many users of linux could have similar questions, then here is a good resource for ripple working on chrome.

    http://johnreid.it/2012/06/23/get-ripple-to-work-in-Linux/

There are slight typo under the heading "Run Ripple"

    He wrote: cd ~/ripple/services/node noeud./node_modules/rbd/app.js 9910

But it should be: cd ~/ripple/services/node noeud./node_modules/rbd/app.js-demarrer 9910

  • Simulator 4.6 lost phone cover/connectivity

I had been successfully using the 4.6.0 (BlackBerry 9000) simulator to make phone calls until this morning. For some reason, there is now no network on the Simulator screen bar, and when I try to place a call it says 'unable to connect '.

When I got to "simulate-> network properties...". "there are two entrances, and I have nothing for them to change when things worked before.

I can make phone calls on the 4.6.1 Simulator.

Any ideas on what could be the cause? Thank you...

If the check box is selected, 'Signal stength' is set at its maximum and that doesn't help - run clean.bat in Simulator folder. If that doesn't help - uninstall the Simulator, restart the computer and install it again.
