Lost software possibly stolen operating system (XP).

I upgraded my OS from millenium to XP PRO a couple of years and registered. I recently came across some problems that I have the installation disc for. until a month ago I had the case of disk with all of the information in this case. We recently had a few flights in our House for which the culprit was caught. I went unnoticed that he could take my drive because I always leave with my folder on the computer. The target of culprits was computer and our identities. Yet once again, I did not notice that the housing and the drive was taken to a well. My question is. Given that I register the software with Microsoft can I replace through Microsoft.

Microsoft does not make this kind of tracking software, and even if they don't that Windows XP has been withdrawn from the market for many years already make impossible replacement.

  • Lost Genuine windows 7 operating system home addition; How can it be found?

I was on a trip abroad when my Windows 7 Home addition has stopped working. I installed Windows 7 (but not a version is authentic) in C drive. How can I recover my windows 7 original home addition? There are disk files recovery and image on my computer?

If you have a Windows System Image backup everything you have to do is to boot the system from a Windows 7 repair disc and choose to recover from an image, then choose the image on your external drive. Seems to me you're OK

  • Windows XP mode 7: Possible in operating system called?

I would like to use Workstation 6.5 to test the new feature "XP Mode" in the Windows 7 RC 7100, which just launched, but since the feature requires support for hardware virtualization, it seems that it is not possible from the prompt that OS doesn't seem to be able to 'see' this feature of the CPU directly.

Anyone know if there is a way to make this work?

That won't be possible, just as you can't run hyper-V in a virtual machine, it has to do with the OS who need access to the VT instructions which are not presented to the virtual machine.

Not quite. You have two options:

    • Install Windows 10 from the downloaded file. It will always be free.
    • Perform a destructive factory restore to Windows 7 using the disk partition hidden. Consult the manufacturer's web page for instructions on how to start the process.

I lost my pre-installed operating system 'Windows 8 Pro' & now I have no way to recover it. My laptop is under warranty and I bought it in January 2014 to Saudi Arabia. What should I do to recover my operating system pre-installed? HP Saudi Arabia can provide me free recovery disk, if I managed to ship I have relatives there for the reception.

You have a choice of where to get a set of recovery disks. The cost is usually about $30,00 USD

    Order a HP recovery disk

It is unlikely that you will be able to get a recovery disk free of charge. A choice of methods to create recovery recovery disk series or usb media has been presented to you when you set up the laptop and unfortunately you chose to not use it.

    Hi R0w1% 40nd,

Adobe Photoshop CS v.8 and Lightroom 2 v.2.4. are very old software and the operating system you are using is the most recent, so there may be compatibility issues that adobe has not tested these applications on newer operating systems.

The installer for Adobe Photoshop CS v.8 and Lightroom 2 v.2.4. are no longer available.

  • lost my operating system

    Dear Sirs:

I have laptop Hp pavilion 1240se g6 and I lost my OS after format.

so, how can I get my original copy of Windows 7 home basic oa mea

I still have a product key

    Thank you...

    Hello

    Here are a few options.

    1. you can order a set of replacement of the recovery media using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 you can use the following method to create your own Windows 7 Edition installation family support basic 64-bit.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create Windows 7 installation yourself using another PC. However, it not there no download directly available for Windows 7 Home Basic Edition, so you'll need to download another version (one will do, but the link below is for Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit - the source is Digital River).

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

For the key on your label of COA to work, you must now use the method described in the following link to convert this ISO to an all-version Installer - the section that require you to edit the ISO is Step 1 DVD universal (although you will create an installer from usb, the method to change the ISO is the same).

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/85813-Windows-7-universal-installation-disc-create.html

Once done, use an application like Rufus to create a bootable Windows 7 usb flash drive.

Use the Flash drive to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA in the request and one time Setup is complete, use the 'method of phone", described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

You could possibly need for your laptop can be found, additional drivers and software here.

  • Operating system has lost how to recover?

Hello, three years ago, I bought a Compaq Presario CQ61-104sv (of the Greece, now I live in Germany) at the same time, after my warranty was expired, I got some virus problems and I lost it all hard disks as well as the recovery of the BONES! I installed a temporary copy of my cousin Windows 7. The original operating system was Windows Vista Home Basic x 86 SP1 (Greek).

So my question is: are there at - it a means of digital download, a copy of these windows in order to reinstall them and activate using the CD key located under my laptop? (I can provide the information to apropriate S/N etc...) the problem is that I could not contact the customer by e-mail service because my warranty is expired.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

HP do not offer a download option, but there is a workaround you could use to reinstall Vista on your laptop detailed below.

In the same way that it is possible to create a disc of the retail of Windows 7, use this to perform the installation, and then use the OEM windows 7 activation key from COA label, the same process is possible if your laptop comes with Vista.  A complete description (including links to downloads of Vista Image) of it on the following link.

  • Possible to downgrade the operating system?

    Hello experts,

My Macbook is a 13 "early 2009 (Core 2 Duo 2.0). I have 6 GB of RAM (recently installed the last 2 GB).  Currently, the operating system is OS X 10.11.3.  I think that since this OS has been installed (a few months ago) the machine has slowed down considerably.  "Outputs page" is almost always up.  I re - often starts to get "page outs" to reset, but they will soon get back to the top.  Almost any process bothers me a lot of activity "beachball".  My main use for this computer uses iPhoto to show slide shows to various groups (I have not found that the Photos should be for various reasons).

I know that this is considered a 'old' machine, but since it is my secondary computer I would not spend the money on a complete replacement.  Is it possible to go back to an earlier version of Mac OS X? That could accelerate or put less strain on, this Macbook?  If I could go back to 10.10 or 10.9 How would I do it?

    Thank you

    JimH

Your computer will be not a faster were no you downgrade OS X. There's nothing wrong with El Capitan. Page Outs increase because you don't have enough RAM and try to run too many processes simultaneously.

If you want to demote to an increase in performance, and then wipe the drive and install Snow Leopard.

My camera Olympus only works with Apple's Quick Time 7.  Is it possible to make it work with my operating system from Windows XP?

Apple QuickTime 7 works is because. MOV is the Apple
    QuickTime format.

QuickTime. MOV files can cause problems with Windows Media Player.
And... If you plan to try editing with Movie Maker... the files should
be converted to the. WMV format.

No guarantee, but the following decoder might allow Windows Media
Reader to read your. MOV files. Only problem is... it is not freeware to retail.

Convert the. MOV files to the. WMV format may be worth a try:

There are many converters available on the net... some

The following freeware converter is just one example:

    Format Factory (freeware)

(the 'direct link' is faster download)
(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup295.zip<>
    (FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck
('all' boxes on the final screens)
    (Windows XP / Vista / 7)

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
    Drag > FFSetup295.exe< out="" of="" the="">
and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

    Good luck

  • Is there possible to see which are the background running processes in the system which is having Windows XP as operating system?

Is there possible to see which are the background running processes in the system which is having Windows XP as operating system?

There is no resource manager (or resource monitor) in the XP Task Manager.

Please read these notes I send to the people who are (sometimes) concerned about the svchost.exe process number they see on their system or when it looks like one of their svchost.exe process has run amok.  We can not all apply to your situation, but I don't want to type in a bunch of stuff once again.  Then get Process Explorer and you will be able to be Omniscient:

To help understand your processes svchost.exe and what is running under them, read this article and you will be smarter than the average bear:
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial129.html

You may be able to get clues with what is happening with your svchost.exe process using the Task Manager and maybe understand.

You will always be able to understand what is happening with your svchost.exe process if you use Process Explorer.

Download Process Explorer, so you can see what is 'really' running on your system, especially behind those svchosts several process see you in the running task manager.

    Download Process Explorer from here:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/Sysinternals/bb896653.aspx

You'll like Process Explorer when you get the hang of it.  Process Explorer is the Manager of Windows taskbar on steroids.

Process Explorer installs nothing so it won't slow down your system since it works only on request.

Process Explorer can seem a little intimidating at first because it has so much information, but you will begin to make love the way it works when you're looking for performance problems.   You can even say EP you want it to be your new default 'Task Manager' value in the future.  You can always run the original tasks as Manager.

Once you get Process Explorer running, expand the columns, made drag the corners of the screen for it's largest, etc., so you can see as much information as possible in the window.  Now you can really see what is running on the system.

Here's a screenshot of my poor system when I use Process Explorer:

    http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/2567/ProcessExplorer.PNG

The CPU column is usually the most interesting start with performance issues - which uses the most?

It is OK and normal to have several svchost exe processes running.  Important XP Services are actually running under svchost.exe processes. There are sometimes an XP Service that runs under a svchost.exe process, sometimes there are several Services in XP, which runs under a svchost.exe process.

Sometimes malware will hide behind a svchost.exe process because the malware knows that you won't be able to find it in the Task Manager.  He will hide behind a svchost.exe process to deceive you, but you can outsmart it.

Malicious software can disguise itself also seems to be a legitimate process of XP or he could hide under/behind other processes that you see running in Task Manager if you can't see the execution.

The malware would trick you into thinking you must use a System Restore Point, run a repair install or reinstall your XP from scratch when you really don't.

Looking at the display in process Explorer, you want the CPU most to be associated with the system idle process.  It's 'free time' on your system, so more time there, more free.

If you look at the graphs of performance and see red spikes (or not) double click the graphic in the upper left corner to display the graph to use.  Move the mouse over any pics to see what are the causes.  Even if the Spike has already scroll screen, you can still move the mouse over the edge to see what caused.  You can also just wait for a pic to happen and then see what caused the Spike.
