  • I don't have the new Firefox button

I've updated our pc XP to Firefox and I don't have the new Firefox button - I still have the old file - menu Edit etc at the top. The tabs etc. have all changed - it's just the button which has not appeared.
My husband has another XP user on the same pc, and it doesn't have the button again, oddly enough (since, presumably, we are both running the same software!).

The Firefox button is only a default feature for Windows Vista and 7. To make the button Firefox on Windows XP, go to:

View > toolbars and UNCHECK the menu bar. Then the Firefox button should appear. Please read this article for more details:

I don't have the new FireFox Button in version 4.0 on my work computer to windows 7. I check the last version and it says I have the latest version of FF 4.0.

To get the new user interface, you must hide the menu bar. Do, in the view menu, select Toolbars, then click on the entrance to the "Menu bar".

If you need to access the menus, you can press Alt or F10 to display temporarily.

    Question
I just upgraded to FF 3 FF9 and in the process lost my 'New tab' button, and there isn't one in the view > customization window. So, how manually open a new tab in FF9?

To open the window to customize the toolbar, do one of the following:

    • Firefox button > Options > toolbars
    • Press ALT or F10 to temporarily show the Menu bar and choose from there (view > toolbars > customize)
    • Hold DOWN the ALT key while pressing the VTC keyboard letters

Not related to your question, but...

You may need to update some plug-ins. Check your plug-ins and update if necessary:

  • Distorted icons and buttons especially the new tab button

Certain keys, such as the new tab button are distorted. It was the series of changes after what I noticed this (initially I was using firefox 41 on system from 21 to 64-bit fedora with XFCE desktop environment):

    -Upgrade fedora at 22

    -Installed LXDE desktop (with XFCE)

-Theme installed atolm (http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Atolm?content=136789). Just extract the contents of the archive in ~/.themes

    -past to this theme

-used the rodent icon theme (XFCE)

Up to this point, that I had not opened firefox and so I do not know when this problem occurred. I decided to remove LXDE and switch back to XFCE. I thought that this distortion of the icons happened probably because of an incompatible Openbox desktop configuration. This problem persists in the XFCE desktop environment too. I tried changing themes to see if a bug with the theme is causing these things, but remained it. I reinstalled firefox but the problem still persists. There is no option in the Customize menu to solve this problem. In addition, firefox menus do not use the gtk theme.

I have updated my firefox in another system and installed fedora-21 the same theme gtk and this one is very good. The menus are in accordance with the gtk-theme and the icons are not distorted.

    @cor-el

I tried with the theme by default too. Did not work. I changed the icon theme and rebooted. The distorted icons disappeared!

This seems to be a problem with the rodent icon theme.

  • How can I import my old passwords of key3.db key3 and files for the new firefox signons.sqlite 41.0?

I recently updated my PC and my old hard drive in system is placed as a slave in my new PC. Seen key3 and signons.sqlite key3.db files of the old firefox, how to import passwords saved in the new firefox 41.0?

    Thank you.

How old was the older Firefox? Firefox 33 and then use this pair of files:

    • logins. JSON -. saved passwords.
    • signons3.txt - this file stores your database key for your passwords.

If you want to move the old in your current profile (to replace new empty files for the most part), this is the fastest way to open your folder of the currently active profile. Either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename logins.json to something like logins.old and key3db to something like key3.old.

Now copy the old two files in this folder.

Launch Firefox back up again. These connections are available?

  • I really, really, really need the orange firefox button back.

I can't use Firefox more if the orange Firefox button is not returned. Boredom and anger caused this is seriously to the point that it causes me physical pain. I would like to make a few comments about this change.

    1. you (Firefox, employees and owners) seeks only to the amount of work devoted to this update. Work means nothing if the result is not quality.
    2. you claim to do more customizable with this update of Firefox, but you do not allow users on features most useful and the most chic of Firefox after this update.
    3. the new menu button does not contain the functionality of the old menu button as the button menu old gave users the features of the full menu bar and new menu button is not. The function to be more important than design in Firefox.
    4. I get that you just want to remove options that people use not much, but it's what toolbars and icons are for. When someone clicks on a menu, which should be the end 'all' with regard to the features of a program. When a user has to click around several places for more features, there is a poor navigation system. Steve Krug wrote this beautiful book titled "Don't make Me Think" that does a good job explaining how Web sites should set their navigation system so that it facilitates the user functionality.
    4. you (the admin/tech read the answer to this question) probably start role your eyes and think about how I'm just another annoying user who can't handle change and should stop complaining and accept that Firefox is something good for me.
    5. There are 99.9% chance that my complaint will get a "I'm sorry you feel that way," answer and nothing will happen to this topic.
    6. I didn't that Mozilla was the type of business that worked this way.

Please prove me wrong and help solve this problem. If I want a browser with tabs, rounded at the top and a menu button style phone mobile at the top right, I use Chrome. At least their right menu button is functional. Also, I don't know where you guys get this heat map thing, but throughout the history of computing, everyone learns from the first day that the upper right corner is where you get to close things, the upper left corner is where you will find your menu.

P.S. I hope that anyone reading that this complaint would know better that to ask what I mean by less functional, but just in case, I'll explain. When I click on the file on the menus of old school system which is always permitted, I can choose the new tab, new window and new private window. In the menu mobile style of three lines, I can't choose the new tab. On the file menu, I can choose to open the file, Save Page or email link. Under the menu again, I can only choose Save Page. It comes to the definition of the removal of the feature of a menu button.

in order to get the old menu back, you could use https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/

  • How to get rid of the new menu button on the right side of the toolbar

Honestly, I don't know why the developers cannot offer new features that we can use or not, by choice. Instead, things are forced upon us.

Could someone tell me please how to get rid of the new menu button on the right side of the toolbar?

It doesn't seem to be an option to remove via the Customize Toolbars window.

    Thank you very much.

CTR extension makes Firefox customizable menu button 3 bar, so you can drag this button in the palette to customize to remove it from the Navigation toolbar.

Reload and stop probably combine only if you set the two buttons in the correct order (reload - Stop and non-Stop - Reload)

  • How to move the 'new tab' button on one side of the screen to the other

A settings file had somehow end up corrupt and have reconstitute default Firefox and start over with my custom toolbars. Only problem, is that the 'New tab' button wants to ONLY go to the LEFT of the tab bar. Will not be on the side RIGHT of it as it was before default. Want this back. Someone knows how to put this topic: config or what? I continue to seek my new tab on the right button and get irritated that it is on the left instead. Customize the will, not that it is placed on the right. Dragging it puts it on another toolbar, it falls on the left of the screen when you mouse on the right, or does nothing and quite the icon disappear toward the window customize.

    Well... scrap that...

Make a toolbar missing and decided to add a few "separators" at the tab bar and all of a sudden he allows her to stay on the right side. Just carried away the separators and it actually moved where I wanted him to be. If I thought who could more quickly, have saved post here. At least it works now so do not bother it. * shrug *.

  • Miss me the new tab button. Why?

I use version 21.0. The new tab button appears in the bookmarks toolbar, but not with the open tabs. Why?

Use the toolbar (Customize) to open the Customize and set the toolbar to display items.

    • Firefox menu button > Options > toolbars
    • View > toolbars > customize
    • If the missing elements are in the toolbar palette then drag them from the window, customize the toolbar
    • If you do not see an item on a toolbar in the toolbar palette and then click the button "Restore default" to restore the default toolbar configuration

You can check the problems caused by a corrupt localstore.rdf file if the above didn't help.

  • How to add the 'new tab' button next to the last tab?... I use version 9.0.1. and they are missing and I can't find how to add.

I got the new tab next to open tabs button, but with a recent update of Firefox, the tab button disappeared. Went through all the help points, but how do I add the new Help tab is not listed. The only way to open a new tab is manually using the buttons on windows/t or opening the file and choosing the new tab.

    Hello

It could be that he is hidden behind another icon. Please try this: right click on the empty space after the last tab and Customize.... With the mini window open, you can move the other toolbars and icons to check if the new tab button is hidden. You can also check inside the mini window customize the icon named new tab or click Restore Default Set that will be hopefully restore back. Please note that if nothing is uninstalled or disabled when you click on restore by default, you will have to redo all changes to manual/personal toolbar.

  • Why was the 'new tab' button option removed from research 'Customize toolbar '?

Back in 3.x and more I was able to place a "open new window" button and a button "open new tab" in the bookmarks toolbar. This has worked well for me. Now with 4, the 'new tab' is not available, and you can open a new tab using the default button, right next to your already open tabs.

Any chance of that open new tab button back? I would use rather than (what I'm used to) than new.

    Called options, remove them stop.

You can find the button new tab showing as a '+' on the tab bar.

You can open the Customize and drag the new tab, button of the toolbar tabs on another toolbar and it will become a regular tools like the new button bar button tab you have in versions of Firefox 3.

    Thank you!!!

I've updated to Firefox 4.01 today and the Center knob on my Lenovo T400 does more. I downloaded the updated Ultranav utility and the Ultranav driver for my T400 by http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-72858.html , then uninstalled the 'Thinkpad Ultranav Driver' to add/remove programs, rebooted and then installed the update utility and driver (another reboot) and now it works perfectly.

So happy to get it working again.
