Low Microphone volume, only in Skype

Can anyone help?

In Skype, my laptop's built-in microphone is intermittently from low level. The microphone level is OK in other applications for example, Audacity.

This makes Skype unusable for me. Audio drivers have been uninstalled and reinstalled nothing doesn't.

Laptop is ASUS F555UJ-XO051T with 10 windows and the latest version of Skype.

Thank you very much in anticipation.

Jan

Problem was solved by uninstalling and reinstalling the audio driver Realtek High definition Version 6.0.1.7620

The microphone volume is now constantly high and Skype (Version 7.24.0.104) is now available!

  • Volume too low microphone in windows 7 64 bit.

Since I updated to Windows 7 I got the low microphone volume. I tried all the answers mentioned in the sound settings, none of them work. Even reinstalled / updated, drivers still no luck. Its certainly a problem of windows 7 and many have the same problem with no luck. I have a sound card integrated VIA. There must be a way to force windows to stop the volume of the microphones. If there is a difficulty of strength or I have to mess with registry by all means give me a solution.

K guys, I seem to have solved my problem. Basically, there are 2 things I tried. First if you have a via the sound card built in I suggest you get drivers of v8700a that can be obtained onhttp://www.via.com.tw/en/support/drivers.jsp. When you use this driver, you will also have HD vdeck program that is installed with the drivers. Load and switch to expert mode. There, you will see options mic with options of thrust and a tester option so you can test how load ure mic is.

Second process, what I did was go into regedit and look for micboost. When you find it change the value from 0 to 1. This sets the boost option on. I did it because I don't have the boost option in the key under recording settings sound settings.

Make these 2 tasks have seemed to solve my problem with the microphone. The second process may not be needed to be done, but I've suggested it incase it may help others.

  • The microphone volume is very low on a Dell inspiron 13 7348 with Windows 10

On my new Dell inspiron 13 7348 the microphone volume so low that my Skype partners can barely hear me. I checked all the settings in Skype and software audio dell and I updated all drivers... without success

Connect a microphone extermal solves the problem, however, I prefer to not always have an additional microphone with me!

Has anyone found a way to increase the volume of the microphone?

Since an external device works well I'm afraid that the build-in microphone is actually of minor quality... what a disappointment

So far, nothing has changed. I continue to go all my encounters with my laptop and this webcam with microphone build - in which I used the last in 2005... It's ridiculous... Don't know how many times I have had to explain to my colleagues why I use this external microphone... BTW, their Skype works well on non Dell computers with Windows 10 so I guess it's a problem that only affects users of Dell...

As I said before, it's a big disappointment, and in the future I will avoid Dell products.

  • Camileo X 400 camera - low audio volume

    Hello

I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I recently bought the cameo 400 x and when I download to address book the audio volume is really low.

I use a new lapel clip microphone that I tried on other audio devices, so it is not at fault. Is there something in settings, etc. that I need to change when you use the micro or I can to increase the volumeon modify the software provided.

    Thank you very much
    Ian

Have you checked the manual of the Camileo X 400?
    I recommend doing this.

Unfortunately, it seems that the microphone volume isn't interchangeable.
Only the sound of the menu can be changed. You can find this option in the configuration menu.

  • Satellite A350 microphone internal problem with Skype

    Hello

I have a strange problem with the internal mic. If I use the registration option window, the microphone works. Although not large, static noise. But if I use Skype with the internal microphone, it is hardly. Only very soft background noise.
As much, I know that this is not the problem of the Skype software, I tested Skype on different systems. If I plug in an external microphone it all works.
I have windows vista installed and a microphone internal realtek.

I have Toshiba send back for repair, but only replaced the microphone.
    Any ideas?

Have you checked the sound settings in Windows? The microphone volume is perhaps not at the highest level.

In addition, you can also change the volume of the microphone in Skype.
    Check it!

To be honest, not sure you can.  To be honest, the only things I can think to do for you is to lower or turn off the sound.

  • The microphone volume

Are there known issues with the microphone volume fluctuating on the device? My duties sometimes report a wide range of amplitudes for ambient noise even if the actual noise levels did not change significantly. I'm pretty confident my algorithms are correct and bug free.

    Is this a known issue?

    Scott

I think that the microphone has AGC (automatic gain control).  A few months ago, I took video with the playbook of a violent storm with heavy rains and record, you could hear the rain, but when loud Thunder came, you could hear it very well (no cutting), but we couldn't hear the rain.  Like the sound of Thunder disappeared, the "rain" volume came back upward.  It's so good that I think that it's hardware and not software MCO.

  • Satellite A100-532: the microphone volume is extremely low

I just bought Satellite A100-532 and I have a problem with the audio input. I can't use the microphone to chat with my friend on msn or even record my voice on the hard drive because the volume is extremely low.

I tried to turn the volume on the desktop and on the RealTek HD audio Manager, but nothing helped. Microphone works perfectly fine, as I hear myself on the speakers.

Normally, with my old laptop (M30 series) I could use sound recorder to record the music that I play using Winamp or WinMediaPlayer, but for this new laptop it detects all the sounds at all... just silence.

    Please notify.

    Hello

You should also check the volume controls in the "Audio & Sound devices" in the Panel.
In the 'Volume' tab it please go to "Advanced".
Then a "Volume control" should appear.
Check if all controls are set at a high level.
In addition, enter the 'options' and 'properties' and activate all volume controls.
Also change to "recording" and activate here also all the controls.
Additional you must check if the "check" is set to high.

Use the 'Advanced' mic option and play with thrust mic settings.
I'm sure that you will find the best settings for your mic record

  • The 8.1 Windows USB microphone volume is extremely low

I have a Samson C01U USB microphone. It's a plug-and-play microphone. There is no driver for it. There is no firmware for it. You just plug in, and it works.

This microphone has always worked perfectly. When I used Windows 7, I put the volume of it at about 40-50% and everything seemed crisp, clear and strong. On Windows 8, it's incomprehensible unless I put the volume to 90%, but even at this moment, he is not strong enough. Providing 100% results in a lot of noise in the background.

This is not the first time, someone raised this issue because it is very common to all individuals with a plug-and-play USB microphone:

Has there never been a fix for this problem?

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

As you mentioned that you have checked the matter with another micro but you still face this problem. We already tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers. I suspect that this problem is a hardware problem. Check the issue with a local technician.

  • Re: Low Microphone on the Qosmio G50 - 12U

    Hello

I have "Qosmio G50 - 12U" laptop and everything is perfect, except the microphone.
When I try to communicate with the people of "SkyPe" and I don't want to use a headset, I have to be very close to my monitor in order on the other side to hear me.
When I talk using built in mic for some people who use e.g. "Toshiba Satellite L675" they can stand 5 meters away from their laptop and I can hear them very good and very strong. I have to be very close to my microphone, otherwise they will not hear me.

I checked all the settings and have drivers 'Realtek Semiconductor"08.24.2009 6.0.1.6923 driver version

When I use headphones, the sound is perfect on the other side.

I also checked in the Configuration of the web camera. Everything seems normal.

    I suspect:
    -"SkyPe".
    -drivers
    -material

I can't believe that this a good laptop has to a bad such microphone...

    Anyone has any advice?
    Thank you

Bad microphone isn't the right term, low perhaps. ;)

Did you check the audio settings in Skype?
Is the micro then put to maximum level?

For example, I have brand new Satellite P500 and with headphones Skype works perfectly but with internal mic use other side cannot hear me so well. Another way some people can't hear me clearly even when I use a headset.

Is perhaps also responsible for Skype connectivity of audio quality.

  • network of microphones of Pavilion dv7 (Skype)

I've been able to use Skype until I was recently messing around with the recoding in the sound options tab.  I think I deleted something, and now only the external mic and stereo mix features show.  I did not discover the problem until I tried to use Skype again and have no available microphone.  I went in the IDT HD Sound options (try to figure out how to fix it) and can see that there are a range of built-in microphone, but it seems to be disabled with the appearent way to fix the problem.

Thanks in advance for the help!

    Hello

On the Audio window, on the recording tab, right-click on the empty space, click on "Show disabled devices" and "Show hidden devices".

If the Microphone is displayed, right-click, and then click Enable, select it, click on set as default.

Check if it works, otherwise you have to uninstall and reinstall the driver.

    1. click on start, type: DEVMGMT. MSC in the search field and then press ENTER. It opens the Device Manager window.
    2. go to the category 'Sound, video and game controllers' and expand it. Right-click on the entry of the IDT high definition Audio Device, and then click on uninstall

    3. click on start-> all programs-online REcovery Manager-> click Dirver Hardware installation, select the Sound Driver entry and click on install.
