LR3 CC LR5 switching.  Will be removing old Dungeon the old catalog intact with all the Info?

Before I remove LR3 turned off my computer, I want to make sure that it will not mess up my organization in LR5.  I imported my old version catalog in my new.  If I delete the old LR, my files will always have the LR edits, keywords, ratings, etc. in the new version?

If I lost all this organization, I'd be so lost!

Thank you

Lightroom 3 uninstalling will remove all the files needed to run the program. But this does not alter the catalog or the images that have been imported into Lightroom. All this information will always be available, and Lightroom CC allows to convert a catalog to Lightroom 5 format by creating a new copy of the catalog.

My lightroom was great before the crash to work and I have a lot of work still pending.

You will need the catalog file and all your images. If you have also stored your images on which crashed HDD you will need to copy them as well.

  • Smartphones blackBerry Messages, absence of Trackball, endangered will not remove old Messages

    Hi all

I am a relatively new user of BlackBerry and fairly well until last week, things were going along.  The first thing that struck me as odd is that my trackball wouldn't scroll down through my messages screen.  It will stop to highlight date separators and messages within that time.  I have repeatedly roll the trackball upwards or downwards so that it can move and sometimes when it reappears it stops just in below the current date and won't spend keeps me new messages during extraction.

Today, I realized I had new messages and a text message but when I went to pick them up they disappeared.  I'm no more or to my mailbox of e-mail quote either.

Also, when I try to delete some messages it will not allow me to delete.

I have also three mailboxes installed on my Blackberry.  All messages, regardless of what email, they were sent to, come in my messages folder key, but is no longer the case.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what is happening?  I took the tutorial, but none of my questions are covered.  The phone is only 40 days too.  Thanks in advance for your help.  -J

I've read the reference guide for orders, do all this procedure: IP Routing Protocol independent commands starting at page 629, but nothing happens. I need this because I want a routing between VLANs

    Hi Felipe

Look forward to hearing how you go.

If you reset the factory default switch and the switch is NOT connected to a server, the switch restarts with a default IP 192.168.1.245 address according to the Quick start guide .  If your PC has a static address 192.168.1.2, you should be able to access the graphical interface of the switch.

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/switches/LAN/CSBMs/sf30x_sg30x/Quick_Start/78-19252-01.PDF

If the switch is connected to a DHCP server, the switch Gets an IP via DHCP.

    I've had problems using hyperterminal on my Windows 7 box, that I have overcome by restarting my PC in order to free the COM port.  Settings of the console are;

    • 115200 bits per second
    • 8 data bits

  • Remove Xp in Dual Boot Vista/XP with disk HARD 2

Hello. I have Xp Pro saved on a HARD disc C, and professional Vista registered in D.  I want to run vista exclusively and remove it from my PC, additional HARD drive which has XP on it. When I try to format it, I can't obviously because the XP HDD is my system drive. I tried to unplug C with XP Pro on it and just get plugged with Vista Business d, but then I get the ntldr and boot.ini lack type errors.  I copied ntldr and ntdetect files on my Vista drive. I also received the error, no os boot from C:\Windows.

I found how to remove xp on one partition, but not when you have separate HDD.

    Any help?

    Thank you.

    Hello Fullerfyed,

Thank you for visiting the website of Microsoft Windows Vista Community.

Try the rest of the stage in this article:

Simply load in Vista and format the partition ON THAT XP is installed. As the Vista bootloader has control of the boot, there is no need to change the XP boot.ini file.

Restart your computer with either 1 Vista CD or your DVD of Vista in the player, if you don't you will be prompted to select an operating system. Once in Setup, choose repair console in the first screen (not install).

Now, the last option is a DOS prompt, choose that.

A DOS prompt appears, and then type the following:

    Bootrec.exe /fixmbr

    * This will essentially remove XP from the Vista bootloader

    Bootrec.exe /fixboot

    * This will verify that XP is no longer present in the boot.ini in Vista

    Reboot and XP is history.

    This should solve your problem.

Let us know if these steps solve your problem.  I hope the information is useful.

    Kind regards

I am now on another hard drive but when I try to set up the synchronization and recover my old data, he said that I need a recovery key. I can't get a so it generates one, but a new will apparently remove the old data that I want to do unnecessary synchronization. How to access my old data without a key?

I was and am now running Firefox 28.0 on two hard drives.

Hello, it is not possible to recover your old data sync without the recovery key, because the data is stored encrypted on mozilla sync servers and it's the only key to decrypt. If you have already generated a new recovery key and then also data on the servers was overwritten - so I'm afraid that this data is lost for good...

  • Will it help to remove old updates

Please let me know my new Dell 11.6 Windows8 preloaded plays slowly. Can I remove old updates (AutoUpdate is enabled) that has accumulated this system. Please suggest me. Which will increase the system running efficiency.

No, the removal of the old updates will break your system. Updates are necessary, but they will not slow down your system.

A great way to improve performance is to limit the number of channels start themselves.  Press Ctrl-SHIFT-ESC to display the Task Manager. Go to the Startup tab and disable everything there.

  • Can I safely remove old security updates Windows

I have Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3. I checked my system under ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS and I have a lot of updates:

Security updates and the updates for Microsoft Office 2007 products
Security updates and updates for Microsoft Internet Explorer 8
Security updates and updates for Microsoft Windows XP
Security updates and the updates for Windows Media Center Edition 2005
    Various fixes
Old Service Pack updates (Windows XP, Office, etc.).

My Questions: Because they use a lot of space, one of these files are eliminated using Add / REMOVE PROGRAMS ? They don't are not already installed or removing them would make them not secure against threats that they were supposed to challenge?

    Thank you.

I doubt they use all that much space (compared to your stuff) - and if you run lack of space - it is a different matter. a not better resolved by removing the updates/patches.  :-)

Do not delete those using Add / Remove programs.  That would be, at best, careless.  To uninstall, so that updates are, do not remove the updates (updates would be removed automatically when you remove the product that they fixed.)

Want to clean and to get that machine works best?  Here are a few suggestions that * is * help.

Do a house cleaning and the dust of this hard drive:

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 9 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

    (Windows XP 32-bit: WindowsXP-KB942288-v3 - x 86 .exe )
(Download and save it to your desktop, run it.)

    Reset.

    and...

Download the latest version of Windows Update (x 86) agent here:
    http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=91237
... and save it to the root of your C:\ drive. After you register on the root of the C:\ drive, follow these steps:

Now reset your Windows with this FixIt components update (you * NOT * use the aggressive version):
How to reset the Windows Update components?

    Reset.

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find.  Reboot when necessary.  (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

Now that your system is generally free of malicious software (assuming you have an AntiVirus application), you've cleaned the "additional applications" that could be running and picking up your precious memory and the processor, you have authorized out of valuable and makes disk space as there are no problems with the drive itself and your Windows Update components are updates and should work fine - it is only only one other thing you pouvez wish to make:

Get and install the hardware device last drivers for your system hardware/system manufacturers support and/or download web site.

If you want, come back and let us know a bit more information on your system - particularly the brand / model of the system, you have - and maybe someone here can guide you to the place s x of law to this end.  This isn't 100% necessary - but I'd be willing to bet that you would gain some performance and features in making this part.

    Thank you.

    Hey @Cpedron,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I understand that you have an old printer that makes its appearance in the HP ePrint app that you no longer own. While I can't help you with the removal of the printer, I can help you prevent the printer to appear. To do:

    1. Reset the App data.
    2. Uninstall the HP ePrint app.
    3. Download the app again.
    4. During installation to validate the HP ePrint app for using a different e-mail address than the one you previously used.

This should avoid the printer appear. Using a different e-mail to validate will have no effect on the operation of the program otherwise.

  • Windows 7 user folders Redirection question - how to remove old, inactive placeholders?

    Hello

I have just directed my documents folders user (Document, music, photo, video, Desktop, etc.) of my drive C:\ (128 GB SSD drive) in my D:\ Drive (1 TB HARD drive) for reasons that are obvious to many. I followed the instructions in the following link: redirect a folder to a new location

However, after redirected each back, C:\ drive My now still has placeholders of old for the following folders: music, photos and videos (highlighted in the attached image below) and I can't something with them (delete, rename or hide). What bothers me, for two reasons:

    1. they are always there LURKING and I can finish by clicking on them instead of the redirected folders (as you can see there are three folders corresponding to my images, videos and music). I get the message "Access denied" whenever I click on them (I am the only user of that PC and the Admin, of course);

    2. in the second place, I might want to redirect folders in the future to their original location, which will cause a problem because the placeholder is where, in my opinion.

Could someone please help and guide me how to remove these placeholders? Remove these placeholders allowed and recommended, or not?

    I would be very grateful!

    Thank you!

    Frank

    Hi Frank,.

You don't want to remove these.  It is possible from the command line with a few advanced controls, but it will break.  Many programs, even parts of Windows itself, look for these files at this location.  These placeholders function as junctions and will redirect all programs to the new location if they try to use them.  But if you delete placeholders, these programs will not redirected properly and they will fail.
