  After running my M30 5 years without problem, I had a fresh install of windows XP.
  No problem. But now I can't find a few drivers and utlilities. Or those I found does not work.
  is not owrking:
  fn - keys (for brightness and soundvolume etc.)
  -LCD screen saver. My screen fades always if I change powersource.

  The fn keys I really need, since I use my computer laptop a lot with a second screen or projector.
  The control utility of the poweruse on the LCD is pretty handy too. But all I get is a program error.

  I used the cd with the drivers that came with the laptop. But when it does not work I tried a few drivers I found on the toshiba site. But still no luck.

  But the M30 is a former series of notebook and that's why pilots have been moved to the archives.

  The unknown BIOS password cannot be deleted or removed easily.
  The unknown BIOS password can be removed ONLY by a certified maker Toshiba.

  To my knowledge, the Satellite M30-742 PSM30E-7100V-EN was released in Europe (probably for the British market)
  Then, probably, you should contact the ASP from Toshiba available to the United Kingdom in order to remove the BIOS password.

• The best energy savings for the Satellite Pro 6100 for me?

  My method of cooling is always set to maximum performance in power savings settings and my Intel SpeedStep Technology is set to Perfomance. I read on the net that the cooling method should be set to SP and SS Intel technology must be set to auto, but I'm not sure about this. I guess I'd like some clarification on this.

  I leave my laptop on for quite long periods. What do you think is the best energy savings for me to use?

  Options to save energy of your choice will depend largely using mains or battery power.

  To use AC I should leave things as you have now, which is a maximum cooling Performance and graphics.

  For use of the battery I set the Intel on automatic and lower cooling affecting something which you give an adequate return, but this will depend very much the type of applications that you are running.

  Maybe you don't need to update n the BIOS but a CD/DVD player compatible and taken in charge? ;)

  Not all CD/DVD slimline drives are compatible with laptops due to different master/slave/c-salt settings.

  I is recommended; buy a compatible player and don t flash BIOS because this willnot help!

  A hint more; If you try to update the BIOS with the bad BISO or bad procedure the laptop motherboard could be too bad!

  The monitor goes to stand-by/energy savings State just for a second and then turns on again. This repeatedly for hours/ever.

  T272HUL watch stand by with a "yellow" light If the monitor is on it shows the "blue LED".

  If the computer is off or in sleep mode the monitor enters State "LED" yellow and the backlight will- but just for a second. Monitors returned to "blue LED", then it displays "signal" on the screen. Then, after about half a minute it once again very short "LED" yellow State and backlight off and then again "blue LED" and will display "no signal". And so on. For hours.

  The problem is always with the two system configurations:

  Configuration 1: Microsoft Surface Pro 3 with Windows 8.1 on docking station. Docking station and the monitor connected via USB and DisplayPort. On the side of the docking station, it is provided with a MiniDisplayPort Plug and the USB cable is placed in a 3 USB port on the docking station.

  Configuration 2 - very simple, at end of test: Microsoft Surface Pro 3 with Windows 8.1. Surface and monitor connected via DisplayPort only. No USB connection. On the Surface, it is provided with a MiniDisplayPort plug. No keyboard and no mouse attached to the Surface (or cable, or wireless).

  Very annoying. Is anyone know about this problem?

  The problem is * not * occur with another computer: I just tested with Microsoft Surface Pro. Everything was good. The problem occurs only with the Microsoft Surface Pro 3.

  The Acer monitor is good.

  The computer is the problem.

  But anyway: Microsoft Surface Pro 3 will be bought by many customers (it comes to the market). And for this computer, the Acer's T272HUL is the monitor of choice for many people. So, we'll see if others have the same experience or if I'm the only one.
