  Are you trying to disable "permanently" or just for short periods of time? If you try to disable it for short periods try this: go to control panel, select Device Manager and find your mouse here. Tip: it may be under the mouse, but it can also be under USB or HID (Human Interface Device). Find the place where its located and right click on the parameter and select disable this device.

  That's how I did it on my HP laptop.  Hold down the Windows key and press 'R '.  You get the run dialogue box. Type in 'Control' (without the quotes). Click on 'OK' Control Panel opens.  Find "Mouse" and click it. You should see a tab that reads "device settings". Click this tab and just below where it is the device listed, you should see a check box for "Disable pointing device internal when the external USB pointing device is attached." Click the box to check and see if it will work.
