Mac Mini compatible?

Can I use this Screen LED - monitor reads 23-inch HP Envy (E1K96AA #ABA) with a new Mac Mini?

Thank you!

Careforapint, welcome to the forum.

According to the "software & driver downloads" page there is no Mac OS X drivers for the monitor.  For this reason, I don't think that it is compatible.  You can see in the menu dropdown.

    Upgrade to Lion

If your computer does not meet requirements to install the above, it can still meet the specifications to install Lion.

  • Mac Mini replacement

Hello, my Mac mini 6 years now, I would like to prepare for the day when I need a new, it would be simpler to use a time machine to transfer photos etc. of a Mac mini to another, or just transfer directly from my Mac mini present on a new when I ended up buying it? Thank you.

    Phil

Time machine or migration assistant would work, both are integrated into OS X and compatible between the different iterations of Mac OS X if there is nothing else that your data is backed up or you can simply migrate from the old mac mini to the new when you get it. If all the data on this computer you can migrate above in its entirety.

  • can I connect a mac mini to existing imac?

I have an iMac with a perfectly fine display 10.4, but I'm not able to upgrade more. I wonder if I can connect a mac mini and upgrade using my keyboard and screen of the iMac.

    Hi readingteacher,.

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. I understand that you want to use your older iMac as a display of your Mac Mini. I am pleased to provide you with some information about this process.

This article has some good information on what is needed to turn your iMac in a view:

Use your iMac as a display with the target Display Mode

As you can see, it takes an iMac compatible with 10.6.1 or later. Since your iMac seems to be a G5 with 10.4.8, I'm afraid that it is not compatible with this feature.

I hope this helps clear of the things up. See you soon!

  • I can't get my Mac Mini from Yosemite 10.5.5

I have a Mac Mini running 10.5.5 2011 end quite happy.  I bought a 2 trackpad, but El Capitan need to get full use, so I downloaded 10.11.4 successfully.  But when I try to install I get the message: the attention of this update requires OS X version 10.11.  I could not find 10.11.0, but I downloaded 10.11.2 and had the same alert.  Then I tried to download Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and got: the attention of this update requires OS X version 10.6.  I can't believe that it is necessary to download every single update to get the latest version.  Clearly there is something wrong with my Mini (works perfectly), but I have not a clue about where to look or what to do.  Can someone help me?

It is not possible for a 2011 mini Mac running 10.5.5 outside an emulator. If your computer is compatible with El Capitan, you need to buy a Snow Leopard DVD, update 10.6.8 and then get El Capitan from the Mac App Store.

Which displays that are now compatible market for a recently updated 2010 updated mac mini w / 1 TB HD & 16 G of ram?

This Mini has a HDMI and mini displayport video output.

-The HDMI supports 1920 x 1200 max. Yu can also get a HDMI > DVI adopter who also supports the same resolution max

-Sport max mini displayport to 2560 x 1600. Yu can get a mini displayport > VGA adopter but that supports maximum of 1920 x 1200. Alternatively, get a mini displayport > DVI adopter. An adopter only link will give max 1920 x 1200 as a double bond ($99) adopter get 2560 x 1600 max.

-You can run two monitors, one for each port

OS X El Capitan: connect multiple monitors to your Mac

Any HDMI or DVI or displayport/mini displayport monitor will work if the resolution is supported (see above).

DisplayPort/mini displayport is next best with DVI. Some monitors have a resolution with HDMI monitors problem

iPhoto is an abandoned product. When you have switched to another Yosemite 10.10.3 or later iPhoto has been replaced by Photos for Mac. You'll find pictures for Mac on your Dock, and yes it will import your iPhotos library. If you need help please navigate to pictures for Mac forum located by clicking on the Photos for Mac
