MacBook pro end 2013 15 inches spilled water

Hello

My son has spread around a glass quarter of water on top of the keyboard. I immediately disconnected everything (food, mouse, external display, etc.).

I could not remove the battery because I don't have any tools to open the back cover. Paper towel under the laptop upside down and it was wet at first, but came clean after 2 hours.

After having put my laptop in the same position for 3 days, I started my MBP today and voila! It worked. Everything seems to work. All keys, load, battery, bluetooth, wifi, etc.

However, I am a little cautious person. I make sure that the mac will remain as reliable than it was before. Unfortunately, there is no Apple store in Pakistan and these local sales shop with "of certified technicians" are charging $ 2100 without initial diagnosis even.

Is this what can I do to ensure that my mac remains healthy? I heard a lot of corrosion. I need to disassemble and clean all parts of my laptop?

Or if I open just the back cover, look at something to have a clue where the humidity was detected (some sensors inside?)

I thought to overload the machine to increase the temperature and evaporate more quickly if something remaining.

Any suggestion?

Thank you

You did things by stopping, unplug the AC power and turning backwards. Leave for a few days also help your chances, and the fact that it was just water and no not something like pop is in your favor. The water will dry after a time, but as to the time, it will corrode, something is hard to say.  If all the water is there very long if may cause some. The only way to be sure would be to consider everythink apart and clean. Even with a tutorial to take part, it is not easy.  I remember a few years ago, our cat knocked over a 1/2 glass of water on my Mac laptop computer older woman and we did the same things as you. He always ran three years later, when we sold it.

  • 10.11.3 WiFi problems (Macbook Pro end 2013)

    Hi everyone-

This morning, I noticed that my rMBP has updated 10.11.3 Although I was under the impression that I was not in the beta version more.

in any case, I'm a part of a home where the WiFi signal is sketchy (I tried before with utilities wireless in diagnostic tools), but with this update, I can't get any reception more. On the other hand if I boot Windows 10 side (bootcamp) I can connect... It is at a point (weak signal) but I can still connect. It's the same with an air of iPad 2 in the same place.

If something tells me the WiFi drivers have declined in this version. Is there anyway that I can change the TX side Mac power for example?

    Thank you

    Houman

So, I moved to another part of the House where I used to connect no problem WiFi and the same question. Now the MBP sees the Wifi router, but it won't let me connect. Even when I removed the router and tried to connect, it asks me a password, but refuses to connect.

In contrast, side Windows (bootcamp) has no problem (3 bars) and other devices can connect as well.

It is clearly a problem of driver wifi on the latest versions of El Capitan.

  • Should you cuda for playback with 4 k on Macbook pro end of 2013?

My question is, I have a macbook pro (late 2013) i7, 16 G of ram, nvidia Gforce 750 m with 2 GB of memory ddr5, mavericks osx 10.9.1

Is this reading machine 4 k with only the software? or he must have active cuda?

Because I did several tests first with RED 4 k files and even with a resolution of 1/4 I always drop frames. Then I tested with Arri Alexa 2 RAW files k and first just may have a reading decent regardless of resolution 1/2 gal and droped frames, 1/4, this is a no go because there a lot of pixels can't really see it happening.

Another test was 4 k IOS Canon 1 d files. These files are still similar to the arri those, I do not have a reading no matter the resolution! These files, I can't even play on VLC they lag everywhere.

I handled the files on the flash drive SSD internal 700MB read/write, and then in a lacie us3, same problem. On the first with the software alone and cuda, same thing.

(I already posted on a diferent discussion, im having droped frames with cuda on simple H264 files enable, then maybe for 4 k is possible, but only when the cuda option works perfectly)

If its a problem with my computer, or you guys think its first Adobe CC?

    Thank you

CUDA does not at all help with reading.  It helps with effects, graduation, blend modes and other.

For this kind of media, you should really focus on a proper workstation with five internal drives:

    System

    Projects

    Cache / Scratch

    Media

    Exports

And you might want to consider making this Media Player a RAID 3, which means a minimum of seven internal disks.

  • Part number of MacBook Pro late 2013 SSD

    Hello

I have acquired a used MacBook Pro late 2013 (A1502 - EMC 2678) a few months ago, in which the DSS had been removed.

I knew that I had to replace the SSD when I bought this MacBook and found on the ifixit site that I had to buy an SSD with a part number in this list: 661-1838, 661-8136, 661-8138 (256 GB SSD).

"I've finally found one on Amazon Market place, and the SSD was announced as follows:" (661-8136, 661-8138) 256 GB Solid State Drive - Apple MacBook Pro 13 retina "A1502 / 15" A1398 (end of 2013, mid-2014).

But when I got the SSD, I noticed that the part number is printed on it is '655-1803D", which is the part number for MacBook Air Mid 2013 - 2015 SSD.

I contacted the seller to an Exchange, thinking that they had sent the wrong item, but he told me that the product was properly advertised on Amazon and showed me his description which indicates that following:

    Identification numbers:

    -Apple part No.: 661-8136, 661-8138

    -The printed part #: 655-1803, 655-1817, 655-1838

    -Manufacturer B21: MZ-JPU256T / 0 *, SD6PQ4M - 256G, THNSN2256GSPS

    So my questions are:

"Print" (those that appear on the SSD) part numbers are supposed to be the same as the Apple part number, or they are independent of each other?

Are SSD with part number cell phones compatible with MacBook pro computers A1502 655-1803 ' printed'?

    Thank you.

If it is, in fact, a number of part of Apple on the outside label of the SSD it should be certified by the manufacturer to run in an Apple/Mac products. SSD information displays the drive model number in disk label utility. These Apple Certified SSD will run through multiple products of Macbook. I hope this helps.

    Bravo!

  • "MacBook pro late 2013 15" blocks all the "Tine"

    Hello

My MacBook pro late 2013 running El Capitan crashes without displaying message. Often when coding using Webstorm (very likely to be blocked), but even when you use the Sublime text or only browsers. I usually have a browser running (accidents that happened with firefox all there are chrome and safari) and a database driver.

This was already the case with the previous operating system, I've updated to El Capitan, and it changed nothing.

PRAM, SCM returns several times. Ran Diagnostics, any problem found. Brought to the Apple store where they performed different tests: no problems found.

He comes off abruptly, sometimes the crazy fan, the screen is black. I can shut myself off or it turns off completely by itself.

In the newspapers, I see no log corresponding to the date and time of the accident.

  • My mac pro end 2013 connecto to 3rd monitor used

I just got a couple of monitors Samsung 4 K and I connected to my Mac Pro model 2013 end that has two graphics cards AMD over-pants D700. I also want to plug a 4 K TV to my installation in order to show the greatest screen previews for customers. I've separated the connections of each monitor in the ports of different buses, as shown in the Apple Web site. Both screens are connected via thunderbolt and the TV is connected via HDMI. The problem is when I plug the TV one of the monitors completely loses the signal. I tried to swap the connections of ports between the two monitors and the TV but the result is the same, the computer will only send the signals of two of the three connected. I would be grateful someone knows how to fix this problem, thanks.

You said: "the two screens are connected via thunderbolt and the TV is connected via HDMI.".

You say you have two screens Thunderbolt?

If this isn't the case, which is entered on the monitors?

If this isn't the case, entered ui displayport/mini displayport may be both legacy connections (DVI or HDMI). For more than two, you need an adopter active.

Each device is connected to another bus Thunderbolt?

I recently bought a Dell P2715Q via the Dell Web site to run with my MacBook Pro late 2013 w/NVIDIA GeForce GT 750 M, Yosemite 10.10.2,"limited which I am very happy with 15".

I'm running the P2715Q via the Port Thunderbolt at full resolution 60 Hz.

I'm considering buying a U2715H to run as a second screen. Is it possible to run a U2715H display via HDMI port at full resolution 60 Hz?

I tried to launch a Thunderbolt Apple display through the second port Thunderbolt and couldn't get two monitors to work when the P2715Q ran in secondary mode STD to 30 Hz. ideally I want to save the second port Thunderbolt for my drive external HARD in any way.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I don't know if this helps, but what are the maximum rates. The MBP supports the latter, no idea.

    P2715Q
    maximum resolution of CDM/DP 3840 x 2160 30 Hz or 60 Hz
    HDMI 1920 x 1200 60 Hz maximum resolution

  • Internal SSD 256Go - Macbook Pro end of 2013 - has not detected

I bought the macbook pro 13 - end 2013 model Retina display early 2014. It was working fine until 2 days ago. Suddenly, "?" appears at startup (startup). I took the laptop to the authorized Center Apple in India where they mentioned it is a hard drive problem and must be replaced and provided a quote from 45000 + 3000(service charges) for replacement. This seems to be 45% of the actual costs for laptop (in what SSD - 256GB was also part of the total costs). I don't see that it's reasonable price because it is 45% of the cost of the laptop. It's very bad service from apple that I wasn't expecting and force me to buy a mobile best on the market to 45% of the cost of the laptop. Any hard disk cannot cost 45% of the overall costs of mobile.

Please suggest alternative solutions to ensure the functioning of the laptop.

Your service issue is not with Apple as such, but with the store you are dealing with.

The only option I can suggest id to buy a third-party SSD and install it yourself.  The cost may be less than what you were quoted.

  • Mac Pro (end 2013) freezing issues

    Hello

I bought a couple of years a new fantastic Mac Pro, but in a few months I started to think that I made a terrible choice.

The computer crashes very often since I updated it to El Capitan, but it was difficult to work on Adobe Premiere since the outset: ridiculously slow, three hours to make a 4 minute clip.

I contacted the Apple store, they kept for a week, they said he went from testing all the equipment and they found nothing wrong.

The mac is still suspended. SO FRUSTRATING.

I work on Photoshop, most of the time, but I have the experience of the 'freeze' even just browse the folders with the finder or visit a Web site on Chrome or watch movies. I unplugged all peripheral usb/firewire, mac freezes still. I repaired disk permissions but reports seem ok.

I started with the Mavericks, I upgraded to Yosemite, El Capitan I reinstalled from scratch.

But nothing has changed in fact related to the gel issue, once time and then (sometimes up to 8 times a day), I need to force a restart by using the power button, because everything is frozen.

The trackpad and the graphics tablet (Wacom Pro middle) are frozen, no key is accepted.

Apple has determined that in some late 2013 Mac Pro graphics cards may cause video problems - without video, system instability, freeze - but it seems that only the GPU AMD OVER-PANTS D500/D700 are affected (I have the base model with a D300).

Do you have any hint? Is that what I can do to understand what is the problem?

I wish I could be in a position, at least, to reproduce the problem, but sometimes it takes days between a 'freeze' and the other. Error reports are generated not either, it is one of the error messages Console that I could find:

WindowServer [176]: GPU Driver seems to be suspended (more than 5 continuous seconds of reluctance)

I am a professional photographer and work is very unproductive and frustrating. I'm losing money customers time and my mood, and I would like a response from Apple on this topic.

Looks like it could be due to problem of graphic material.

  • What happens with the Mac Pro (end 2013)?

    Hello!

I'm Marc Urtasun, Spain. I have a Pro Mac (end 2013) with 3, 5 GHz 6-Core and two AMD over-pants D500. I am an artist and a 3d animator and I always work with 3d, made, video... and I need a more powerful computer now, because on the 3d, Mac users are moving to Windows due to the advantage of the GPU with CUDA...

I would like to ask two things:

-are planning an update or something for Apple's Mac Pro?

-Can I update my Mac Pro 12 hearts? or update with a graphics card more powerful?

    Thank you

-All those here who know the future plans Apple could not reveal that, because of the NDA, they signed.

-Yes, you upgrade to the D700, but that requires to replace two wide boards that contain the GPU and other components. You will find the D700, as Apple does not sell to them.

-The CPU can be upgraded. See:

    https://eShop.MacSales.com/MyOWC/upgrades.cfm?sort=pop & Model = 486 & type = Processor

However, some app can use more carrots 6-8. Almost none can use all 12 cores.  When one of your apps look at the CPU tab in the activity monitor and see if you now use fully all 6 hearts.

You have not said how you memory. Memory can be limited. In addition, sometimes the disk i/o is limiting what drive you have and how ae connected

  • retina failure SSD MacBook Pro early 2013

Since a few weeks, my MacBook Pro 10.1 (beginning 2013) retina a 512 GB SSD running the Mavericks has been sporadically crashing.  The disk has been partitioned, with a Mac OS X partition and a BootCamp partition.  An accident resulted in my default Mac partition.  DiskUtility told me that the volume cannot be repaired and back up my data as soon as POSSIBLE.  I managed to get everything on the Mac OS X partition.  The BootCamp partition seemed ok.  I checked the data verified S.M.A.R.T. ok.  I reformatted the Mac OS X partition.  Everything worked well for a few weeks, and then the accident began.  I took this as a problem of BONE rather than a hardware problem.  Today, the Mac crashed again and I forced a restart.  In other words, I tried to force a restart, but the drive didn't completely this time.

The time has come when you'll thank who bought AppleCare...

No, not directly. Target display mode requires an iMac 2009 or newer to run. It will not work with an iMac 2007.

Which later have over its predecessor?

I'm pretty sure that the Macbook Pro 15 "may 2015 is the latest version.

  • USB hub works on MacBook Pro mid 2012 but not on MacBook Pro early 2013

I recently bought a Top long Premium Hub 4 ports USB 3.0 aluminum.   I noticed that when I use it in my MacBook Pro i7 2.4 GHz with 16 GB of memory at the beginning of 2013 this external zip drives are not recognized.  (It works for my iphone charging).  Then I tried in my wife MacBook Pro mid 2012 with 2.3 GHz i7 and 8 GB of memory and the external zip drives worked perfectly. Both machines have 10.11.2 el Capitan installed.

Why it would work on an older machine?  What Miss me?

Is the hub AC powered or powered hub (requires the MBP to power all the devices on the hub)?  Self-powered hubs use ca for the lion share of the power of the device and MBP is essentially just the conduit.
