  I set up the Playbook dev environment in a virtual machine (MS Virtual PC if it is important) and encountered problems trying to connect to the Simulator, which is of course an another VM.  I guess there will be the same problems you are trying to run the Simulator on one machine other than the machine of dev, regardless of if the dev machine is a virtual machine.

  Anyway, I can't start the trainer inside my dev VM. I guess it would work, and in fact it doesn't (even if the error is a strange not found error). Instead I tried to run the SIM on the true operating system of the box.

  The machine has an IP address in the 192.168.0.X subnet and VM Dev has also received an IP address on the same subnet to the router. However, the IP of the SIM is a 192.168.153.X. I tried affecting 255.255.0.0 subnet mask right on the Dev of VM and it still does not work. I also couldn't find any way to change the network settings on the Simulator hoping to move it to the subnet 0.

  Has anyone got a configuration like this work? If so, there is advice on what config change?

  I'm currently under this configuration with the development environment in a separate VM (Windows7 Enterprise) and the Simulator playbook in another virtual machine, both on the same machine.

  To make this work as well virtual machines had have their network in "Bridged" mode configuration

  To configure your virtual machine, assuming you are using VMware Player as I am, in the VMware Player menu bar, click on the tab drop-down 'Virtual Machine', select "Virtual Machine Settings... ».

  In the tab "Hardware", select the device of the "network card".

  Change the network connection to open and activate the option "reproduce the physical network connection state.

  Click OK and restart your virtual machine.

  Once this has been done for both, discover the IP address of the Simulator and notes that it has changed. This IP address allows to load your applications from the development of VM.

• Impossible to reconfigure the Virtual Machine error

  Newbie here.  I am trying to convert my Windows XP Version 2002 SP3 (it's a virtual machine) to my new IMac with Fusion 4.1.1 (536016).

  When I run the migration agent, everything is fine and he says his will last about 2 hours.  20 minutes or so, I have error with "unable to reconfigure the target Virtual Machine.   My PC is up to date with Windows updates and pretty vanilla.

• Virtual Java machine error during iOS publish, Flash Pro CS5.5

  When I Isaiah to compile a "Hello World" application of iOS for the iPhone using Flash Pro CS5.5, I get the following error:

  Error occurred during initialization of VM

  Could not reserve enough space for lots of things

  Could not create the Java virtual machine.

  Has anyone else encountered an error like this and fixed it successfully?  I tried to solve this problem for a long time, have reinstalled Flash CS5.5 and Java, but so far, I still get the same error.  I also tested the machine to another person from the app and everything works well.  My OS is Windows 7.

  It takes a while to compile (10 min) and uses a lot of memory (on average 300 MB), but is nevertheless functional.

  For others who may have this error, note that it was suggested to change the settings in/Common/First Run/ActionScript3.0/jvm.ini

  Change these settings did not help me.  My specific problem did not imply a .fla file large since I received this same error for an application to test simple "helloworld".  But thanks to everyone who made suggestions!

  Yes, the "growth of the VMFS Volume" was introduced with vSphere 4. After you increase the size of the LUN, you can resize/do push the data store from the GUI without interruption of service. You may need to run a new scan for hosts to discover new size well.

  No nail on the size max '171,16 GB'. Maybe this value is derived by some calculation for thin provisioned disks!

  BTW, you are intentionally supplying this virtual disk configured as thin!

  As I have not examined the content of the hard I cannot give you a definitive answer but I'll tell you that, with the obvious corruption, shown in the first two sectors of the disk recovery at this stage, it is necessary advanced if it is not very advanced and can also be extremely laborious to get you in very advanced techniques.  The problem is that I don't have time to explain, and or to teach someone how to do what else can be right now because it was not learned and understood all night and just can not be easily passed along.

  Suffice to say if you did not good backups along the way, while it may have been a hard lesson learned I bet that in the future do you good backups from that point forward to easily recover when something bad happens new!

  I'm trying to convert a physical machine to using 'Converter Standalone Client 4.0' virtual ESXi 4.  When the converter is complete, the operating system would not start.   I tried this on 3 different machines to Windows XP and got a different message each time.

  1st: I got this error message: FAILED: cannot create a snapshot VSS of the source volumes. Error code: 2147754758 (0 x 80042306).

  2nd: I got a black screen with a cursor.  He just sits there and doesn't do anything.

  3rd: error loading operating system.

  I tried the local processing and conversion of distance.  Each of them with the same result.   What I am doing wrong?

  Make sure that you use Converter 4.0.1 because you convert to ESXi 4.

  3rd: error loading operating system

  It not in fact generated an error message during conversion?  Would you be able to provide logs of converter if she missed.  In the contrary case, we will need to know what has been selected in the wizard and a description of the source system with a screenshot of disk management.

• Problem machine network virtual ESX 3.5 x 64

  I have

  created a VM of Hardy Ubuntu 64 bit for a svn server to replace an old one

  that is a failure. I have it configured and running on VMware

  Workstation 6.5 with a static IP address. When I downloaded to Virtual Center as

  an ESX 3.5 64-bit VM using VMware Converter 3.03on my C7000 blade system, it completed without error, but I could connect is no longer

  to it.

  I went with the Virtual Console of the Infrastructer and can access the server. When I run

  It shows only L0 ifconfig. Eth0 is not there. But when I look

  / etc/Networks/interfaces it is there with the correct information. I have

  have restarted the network and restarted even drank the same thing.

  I am pretty new to Linux, but have a pretty good idea of the basics but

  That stopped me. Any ideas on why eth0 does not go up? I have

  about 60 other virtual machines running on the blades, a mix of MS and different

  Linux, flavors and did not run in the whole of this problem before.

  Basically, I think that the conversion process changes the mac address and puts the networking on eth1 to eth0. There are a few corrections to it and the one I use is just to restore the networking with the script.

  My environment can be different from the way that you set up your virtual machines as my virtual machines are not set static IP they are set to DHCP - they acquire a static IP address of a router.

  If it's not quite what you are looking for there are other things in the thread I posted that might also help you...

  Whenever I use a converter on a computer or ESXi virtual on my Ubuntu VM, I get the same things happen...

  Veritas Netbackup 6.5.1 - I've specified the Virtual Center Server and VCB proxy server which is the same as the Netbackup server. Everything works beautifully... I can see all virtual machines when a backup strategy in cash and can I save all the VMs.

  Problem... I've added another ESX Server and created a new port of the virtual machine that is attached to a physical NETWORK adapter that is isolate/DMZ from the network.  I created a few VMs and placed on this isolated port virtual machine I need to back up regularly.

  My problem, I start creating a backup in Netbackup policy, I don't see the isolated virtual machines.  Everything I read on Netbackup, points using FULL domain name to back up virtual machines that are going to be.  Well these VMs are isolate and cannot be network connectivity ping/network where the center, Netbackup, proxy server Virtual server/VCB resident.  I've added these virtual machines to host (IP address and domain FULL name) file in the VCB proxy server and Virtual Center Server.  When I tried to create the backup strategy, I could see the virtual machines, but I get a policy has failed "political validation validation of the advanced client configuration controls has not." Advanced client backups can be made up to this as configured correctly."  Know me that Netbackup is trying to ensure that virtual machines are in the network and available and if Netbackup cannot see the virtual machines on the network it will give this error.

  My questions... Should NetBackup see the virtual machines by using the FULL domain name to perform backups?  NetBackup can perform backups of virtual machines that are isolated from the network? If it is possible, how?  How you guys are backups to isolated/DMZ VMs?

  Off... first get on NBU 6.5.3 I am surprised you have consistent backups with 6.5.1...

  You will need to create a bpstart_notify_script and bpend_notify_script to take care of these virtual machines using moref.
